Because it's the auction for "things that money can't buy"

ok Terry, I have no money, can I go on the set of Dr Who?

Can I go and meet Janet McTeer and Harriet Walter?

And when you say that someone has paid ten thousand pounds, do you mean pounds of turnips?

Been listening to Classic FM this week

(I am hijacking the envy emoticon for a violently chundering one)

Janh · 16/11/2005 21:32

Sorry moo. Will you still be my friend?

marthamoo · 16/11/2005 21:34

The chundering was for the hideous picture of simpering SK as supplied by www - I can (just about) forgive you for having a child in one of her monstrous books. Just...

Rowlers · 16/11/2005 21:37

LOL JanH!
With you WWW - I love JR on thr radio - very funny man.
Sarah Kennedy is absolutley talentless. As well as wibbling about cats, she witters endlessly about theater and musicals. She never says anything anyone would want to listen to.
And she's a moose so it can't be she's shagging the producer.
Unless he's a moose shagger.

Janh · 16/11/2005 21:40

Luckily I don't get up early enough to listen to her, and usually have Today on later, unless full of blustering politicians in which case Terry gets a turn but only if I'm trying to drown out children.

I don't think a tile will fit, Marina, they're 10cm ones! But it's okay, I've unearthed the squares and they're ready to be posted off in the morning.

Lol and bleeuuggh at that piccie of SK, though I think this one is better.

I like Ken Bruce - I love the way he's a grumpy old git.

Marina · 17/11/2005 10:06

Oh you got me suedonim, you fiend.
That picture, Janh, has to mark a new low in the history of Mumsnet. On how many levels is it bleurgh! So lay off Fringe Boy, OK?
WWW, there are times in your life when you really do feel you have a friend on the airwaves and critical faculties are sort of suspended. I have been wondering how you were doing covering all those miles and Sarah has been keeping you company. So what matter she is a loony lush .
For me it was Stuart Maconie covering for Johnnie Walker on evening drive-time, while I was on mat leave. Just me, dd in her bouncy chair, the dinner cooking, and Stuart's chirpy tones and ace taste in music

Moondog's comment must go down as one of the MN classics - hope it's in the next book!

The rotary club, forsooth!
