Aww 100years, she's a real cutie! I second bebe's advice about lots of water. Baths are good for the stitches (I put in a few drops of tea tree oil, but I know others recommend lavender) and iced water compresses. Obvoiusly not at the same time!

Eeek strawberry, only 4 weeks?! Time flies :)

whywait haven't looked at monitors yet. Baby squirrel screams loud enough that we probably won't need one!!

minipie sorry about AF turning up, fingers crossed next month is your month.

AC and quod yay for DHs agreeing schedules. Hope they stick to it.

bebe homework for mums - very cheeky!! Painting leaves sounds like fun though :)

Things mostly going well here, DD getting a bit more settled as she gets towards 12 weeks, and looking all grown up now she's straightened out her legs! She's more inquisitive now and loves to look at faces. I've been out and about a lot for lunch and coffee and shopping... if I'm honest though it's starting to get a little boring being at home all day with nothing much to do Blush Obviously I love being with DD, but I think I need a project to entertain myself with in the (small) gaps I have!

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 18:51

Minipie I wouldn't worry I thought mine were getting longer as I had two that were 33 and 35 days - then this month completely randomly I ovulated on CD15.

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 20:31

Saw my cousin today, she suggested getting embryos frozen now, in case everything's stopped working by the time we're ready to try for DC2. Apparently it's not that expensive to store them.

bebeballroom · 14/09/2011 20:43

Is it something you would consider AC, and/or something your DH would agree to?

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 21:06

DH says he'd be quite happy to donate some swimmers, my concern is that if we went down that road he'd see it as carte blanch to put TTC off forever.

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 21:56

I've just been googling and now I'm getting excited by the prospect of an unlimited number of baybees! Grin

bebeballroom · 14/09/2011 22:09

Hmmmmmmm yes I see the dilemma! No harm in a little researching though! I'd be tempted to think about it seriously after TTC/DC1. Coz as we know FoFF is a very real thing!! My DH is concrete proof!! :o

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 22:21

Oh yeah we're definitely going to have round two of this I can feel it in my bones! I'd really rather not have to have two babies in quick succession, let alone have the stress of trying to persuade DH. How has it come to this, I was always certain I would never be one of "those" women still childless at 35.

bebeballroom · 14/09/2011 23:28

I was always certain I'd have 2 children (and only wanted 2) by the time I was 30! That's not going to happen! Hmm unless of course we win the lottery!!!

Why can't I just be one of those women who decide they want a baby and their OH just duly falls into line no questions asked no discussion no argument?!?! They exist right?! Hmm if only I didn't NEED DH to play any part in making babies!! We'd all be much happier! Grin

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2011 23:31

Well absolutely this is what I think constantly! Such men certainly do exist, it seems most men are a little wary but not on the scale our DH's are on.

AmandaCooper · 15/09/2011 07:28

Massive congratulations to nannyl whose baby Anneka Beatrice arrived at 22.37 last night!

bebeballroom · 15/09/2011 07:38

Oooh really??? Congrats to nannyl!! Off to check fb!!

minipie · 15/09/2011 10:21

Gosh another WIIT baby! congratulations to nannyl!

AC at the freezing embryos idea... interesting thought.

Quodlibet · 15/09/2011 10:28

Hurrah for Nannyl! Will someone tell her congrats on FB from me?

We had the frozen embryos discussion after DP's friend mentioned it to him as a 'brilliant idea' when they were talking about impending fatherhood - this being the same friend who's just split from my best friend after 11 years because she'd had enough of him prevaricating about the future. Hmm

I think you're right AC to be concerned about the carte blanche thing. My feeling about the frozen embryo thing is that it gives men a get-out clause. I think there's a big unbridged gap in some men's minds between theoretical future children, which they love the idea of, and actual real imminent children which require decisions and compromises made to bring into being. The frozen embryos allow for the idea of the theoretical future children who exist in the magical netherworld without actually tackling the tricky problem of having real actual children come into being! Does that make sense? Obviously if there's a medical imperative then it's a whole different thing but I'd be really wary of using it to try to 'cheat' biology and buy myself/my partner more time. And even if you can freeze embryos you can't freeze the body that's got to carry that baby for 9 months and run around after it when it's little!

AmandaCooper · 15/09/2011 13:17

Ok well what about this plan. I buy a second Persona monitor and use one as a dummy. When I get the egg symbol on monitor one, I stick a green stick in the dummy and show it to DH. It gives the green light, we DTD, oh no what a shame our contraception failed. Serve him bloody well right. Angry

squirrel007 · 15/09/2011 13:34

Oh wow, huge congratulations to nannyl!! Do you know if she got the homebirth she wanted?

AC I don't know much about frozen embryos, but what are the success rates? I don't think I'd consider it for the reasons mentioned (gives your DH an excuse, and doesn't make you any younger by the time you get to DC2).

Squirrel - from fb... Nannyl 'is a Mummy! delighted to announce safe and VERY fast arrival of Anneka Beatrice... Born at 2237 on Wed 14 Sep, 7lb 13oz. Born at home as planned, (luckily as wouldnt have made it anywhere else), with only 1 midwife who only just arrived... 2nd midwife arrived after birth! No pain relief except tens on level 4, & 2 paracetamol at 7pm!'

Wonder if she will come back?! Nannyl - If at some point you are reading this....PLEASE come back we miss you!!

AC - From a health of embryos POV can totally see why the freezing 'plan' would make some sense. (Even if it does tempt FoFF with your DH.) However, as others have said, if it gives him the excuse to put off TTC#2 then your health needs to be a consideration too!

AmandaCooper · 15/09/2011 18:15

Actually Minipie forget what I said about OV on CD15 that would put me at 14DPO, which would be most unusual.

AmandaCooper · 15/09/2011 18:34

Whywait my DH doesn't go out to work at the moment, he often lounges around in bed half the morning working on his laptop and then he potters between his desk and the fridge or takes telecon calls with the cat purring away on his lap. These cushy working arrangements would have to change somewhat to accommodate a baby in the house!

minipie · 15/09/2011 18:56

Gosh AC, and there I was thinking you knew your cycle back to front! Wink

AmandaCooper · 15/09/2011 19:13

I figure it doesn't do to be too anal about things, it's only contraception after all!

Besides, AF has just arrived, so I guess it was about right after all!

minipie · 15/09/2011 19:22

Well indeed - if your contraception were to, ahem, slip up because your cycle was unexpectedly irregular then that wouldn't be the end of the world Grin. If the DH wants absolute certainty then he knows where the condoms live...

But I see you were right about the timing after all - my faith in your body omniscience has been restored! Speaking of which, any tips to help increase EWCM (other than the grapefruit juice)? SPR recommended cough syrup to me. Any other ideas/knowledge?

100years · 15/09/2011 19:23

Hey folks. Had to go to docs today. Temp super bad and felt shocking- feel shocking. Anyway.

Got some anti-biotics. I've either got a virus, which obviously the abs won't work for, or I have possibly endometriosis, which is what the abs are for. Feel absolutely shocking.

She also checked my episiotomy cut and declared it to be gaping about 1.5 cm and she's not sure it'll heal :( oh deep joy. No wonder it feels like it opens when I move.

Just feeding LO then it's off to bed. Fingers crossed I feel better thru the night. My OH will be on baby passing duty in the night.

I swear I'll do a catch up when I feel better. Miss chatting a bit and knowing what's all going on, but it's worth it. Each time I look at LO my heart melts, even when I can't stop shivering.
