MrsS DHs friend seems to be ok (now) was his 4th or 5th tour out there so I guess the more you go the more likely it is that something will happen IYSWIM? Apparently he's already talking about going back out there!! Scary considering he was technically dead for a minute!!

Smileys on computer...just do : and ) no spaces and without the - :)

100years · 11/09/2011 12:47

Hey,

We're home :)

She's beautiful, teeny tiny and just perfect. Very very happy.

Just grabbing a few mins before she feeds again, but all is going well. I will post more when I have a bit more time.

:)

MrsSatsuma · 11/09/2011 13:42

Aww how lovely! So pleased for you Smile

I am trying to get stuff done today while stressing... Will somebody please remind me to not drink wine then phone a friend as I say stupid embarrassing things I regret the next morning?! Blush

bebejones · 11/09/2011 14:20

100 - She is so totally cute & utterly gorgeous!!! Congratulations again, you must be on cloud 9! :) Can't wait to hear all about little Edith! :)

MrsS - Oh dear! What did you do?!!?!? DH takes my phone away when I get too drunk, tis dangerous!! Wink

DH has had me in hysterics today. Cooked some Gammon for dinner tonight & he pulls a face similar to this...Hmm and then says, 'Why are you cooking Gammon, you know I don't like fish!' ROFL!!! 'It's HAM you muppet!!!' Cue much Blush on his part!! Hilarious!

MrsSatsuma · 11/09/2011 15:03

Haha your poor DH! Although it did take me a few years to work out which animal it actually came from (to be fair to me though, I was still a teenager when I finally did realise).

I don't think I said anything really bad... I have more presence of mind than that. I just said things I probably wouldn't usually for fear of offending! (wine-filled me knows no boundaries) Now I want to text him to apologise but I don't want to seem like some kind of stalker! - One of the stupid things was texting immediately after getting off the phone - which is, of course, pointless, and could potentially come across as stalker-ish behaviour. I thought it was funny at the time..... Argh am cringing!!

bebejones · 11/09/2011 16:10

Oh dear!! He's probably forgotten already, and if not he soon will. I wouldn't say anything until you next see him or speak to him for something else & just casually say 'Oh I'm really sorry for X...I'd had a bit to drink!!!' Then leave it at that! But that's just me! Is he likely to have been offended?

Quodlibet · 11/09/2011 20:20

Haha your DH Bebe!

MrsS, I agree with Bebe he's probably forgotten already - men generally don't really give those kind of things anywhere near as much thought as we do. Agree you should just forget about it til next time you see him. And who hasn't been drunk and got slightly loose tongued Blush

Just come back from visiting friends and their 2 week old - oh she's just so tiny!

strawberrypie · 12/09/2011 09:20

Congratulations 100years! Well done and I hope you are enjoying getting to know each other! Edith is a lovely name!

Welcome back AC!

Horrible news about your friend Bebe but good to hear he is on the mend. (Gammon!)

Don't worry about it MrsS- he will probably have thought nothing of it. We've all been there and these things are very quickly forgotten.

Well I have finally finished work for mat leave. No rest for the wicked though as decorating is going ahead full steam....lots of walls to be painted and floors to be sanded (not by me thankfully) then hopefully getting the nursery and birthing room set up. The LO better not be early as we are totally unprepared (hopefully not famous last words....) 4 weeks to go to the EDD. Gulp!

WW - We have a Tomy one (they seem to have changed them so I can't find the exact one) this is pretty close though.

It's been really good. We still use it coz DD doesn't get out of bed yet to come in to us & although our house is small the walls are thick & unless she is screaming full throtle we wouldn't hear her!

100years · 12/09/2011 18:57

I am massively in love with my baby girl. She's so ace. I'm doing the whole rest while she sleeps thing as she very wakeful at night but that is fine she's only 3 days old. Loving being a mum. Feeding is going well. Learning the I want feeding signals and well I'm just all smitten. When I'm on the computer I'll put a pic up to let you coo over :)

Thanks for all the well wishes and congrats. :)

Quodlibet · 12/09/2011 19:07

Aww, that's lovely 100, great to hear feeding is going well and you sound really happy.

bebeballroom · 12/09/2011 19:47

100 - That is just so lovely! I'm glad that things are going well! :)

minipie · 13/09/2011 10:35

sooo many congratulations 100 !! aw you sound so loved up, it's wonderful. do post some pics when you get a chance, I bet she is gorgeous.

can't believe I went on hols for a week and missed all the action! Have had a lovely holiday though. Only slightly marred by AF arriving on Saturday... so that's another month of unsuccessful TTCing. Don't want to bring down the happy mood of the thread but suffice to say that all these lovely babies arriving only adds to my impatience to be updiffed!

Quodlibet · 13/09/2011 11:21

Ah bummer Minipie, sorry to hear that. We really do need to devise some sort of spectacular reward system for AF endurance whilst TTC.

I'm trying to savour at the moment not feeling impatient about it, for the first time in aaaages. I think DP agreeing in theory to TTC at the end of the year has given me a nice breathing space of not feeling like I have to be pushing for anything or doing anything or obsessing about anything. It's made me realise how much energy is taken up by thinking about it and that actually it really stresses me out and makes me much less relaxed and happy than I am normally. I'm trying to enjoy it before the inevitable stress that will take me over once we do start TTC - or to desperately think of a way to not allow it to become stressful (but if I could do that I'd probably be a millionaire).

AmandaCooper · 13/09/2011 18:34

Sorry Minipie that's bad news. Was it June you started trying? I wish there was something more helpful I could say beyond hope this next cycle will be the one.

Quod that's exactly why I had a break from the thread I was obsessing far too much and it was just putting even more pressure on DH. I've relaxed a lot and feel so much better for taking it all down a notch.

I hope you and I both start trying in the new year. DH has agreed (yeah as he has before, I know) that it will be no earlier than December but no later than March, so you never know!

100years I'm so happy for you, she's so so so lovely!

AmandaCooper · 13/09/2011 18:38

Oh and happy birthday to nannyl, even though she's apparently no longer with us. Perhaps train sickness or Gruffalo allergy.

Whywait not much longer to go for you. I don't know anything about baby monitors but DH has recently got himself a video camera that he uses to check up on the cat via his iPhone. It would be really good for a baby. A bit mad to watch your cat though - ah well!

Quodlibet · 13/09/2011 21:15

AC fingers crossed that both our other halves stick to their words! We're yet to even actually reach a committed-to theoretical start date yet over here so I'm still to discover whether he sticks to his guns or not. What made yours volte-face and put TTC back on the board in the end? Let's hope we both finally get this show on the road in 2012!

I want to see the photos of mini100!

AmandaCooper · 13/09/2011 22:27

Oh let's face it mine's always making these promises. It means nothing. And it's high time I had new work clothes in my normal size. Can't put it off forever.

AmandaCooper · 13/09/2011 22:28

Do you think yours will stick to it then, really?

100years · 14/09/2011 09:42

Good morning :)

I will try and catch up properly soon, but I'm sure you can appreciate it's a timing thing.

I have put a pic up on my profile of my little girl for those of you who aren't on FB. I took it this morning.

Things are going well. I'm loving it so much.

I have bottom and episiotomy issues, but I'm working on solutions to these problems and other than that I'm doing grand.

She feeds really well, and I have no nipple issues so far.

Managed 3 sleeps last night of about 1 hr, and 2x2hr sleeps, so I felt bright as a button this morning.

I really hope everyone else is doing well.

Oh she's gorgeous 100 (just as her dress says!), thanks for the picture! Bet she is just awesome. Hope your solutions get sorted out quickly.

Quod I like the sound of the endurance reward system! At the moment I'm just relying on chocolate and coffee. Enjoy your stress free pre TTC time! Bet it feels good to have made a decision and now just be waiting rather than dithering or persuading.

AC so glad to hear your DH is more positive now - even if you aren't counting any chickens. Really really hope he sticks to the Dec-March timing. When is your Big Trip booked for again?

Thanks for best wishes on the TTC front - our first month of TTC was technically May, but it was a bit last minute and we got the timing all wrong, so June was the first "proper" month. So it's only been 3 months really, which isn't that long . Annoyingly though my cycle seems to be getting longer again (36 days last month) so TTC opportunities are not that frequent.

WhyWait thanks too. We were in the Greek islands - lots of lovely sun, amazing turquoise water. Back in grey UK now though at least it's sunny today!

bebeballroom · 14/09/2011 12:30

100 - She is just so scrummy, no wonder you are completely smitten! :) Hope you are over your 'issues' soon, drink LOADS of water!

Minipie - :( Try to reeeeeeelax as much as you can, and (I know this isn't easy & not much consoltation) but maybe it'll be your month next month...fingers crossed.

AC/Quod - Keeping everything crossed that your DHs don't back out! Can you have a word with mine to try & talk him round. Am now thinking that TTC in late Nov/Dec onwards would be ideal. I'm going to feel so lost when DD starts school next Sept! Bet it won't happen here though, oh well, just keep swimming and all that!! Wink

Nothing exciting to report here. DD is doing a family tree activity at playgroup this week, so I have to go & hunt out some photos for her, and also go out & collect some leaves & stuff for her to paint! It's homework for mummies!! Hmm

Quodlibet · 14/09/2011 15:32

100, Edith is beautiful! She looks like you, too. Thanks for caving to photo demands. Glad to hear that all is going well your end.

Minipie Greek islands sound lush, I'm v jealous. I have the long cycles thing too, and it's annoying even when you're not TTC.

AC, I have absolutely no idea whether my DP will renege or want to get on with TTC enthusiastically. None at all. Could go either way. He's usually very good on his word and doesn't like making promises he can't keep so I'm hoping that he's actually come round to the idea after all this negotiating and talking. But then again he could have a big freak-out, as could I! Who knows?!

WW, yes it's nice to be able to do all those things without worrying! I'm trying to get as fit as possible by TTC time too which has its own rewards I suppose. Annoyingly, the way my and DP's work is shaping up, next year could potentially be full of fun travel and hedonistic opportunities amongst the hard work, I'm having to persuade myself it's not worth putting off TTC and that I could still partake in some of the fun even if pg!
