Amanda glad you have talked to your DH more about the whole thing :) Being afraid is perfectly normal, but demanding you take the MAP every time he has a wobble is just not fair. Hope like minipie says, it's just a one-off!

100years how's the hip pain going? Glad the docs will sign you off - don't struggle on at work if it's too much! And good luck with the scan :)

jbells good to hear from you! Bet you're really busy now though with toddler and baby, hope things are well!

I am also Confused at the early morning DTD! I love sleep in the mornings, and am useless until around 11am!! Have told DH he'll have to deal with all the early morning baby wakings ;)

Am enjoying maternity leave - had a relaxed day today after too long at the hospital yesterday (they never run on time). The big news is that I will probably be induced early, next week sometime!! A combination of diabetes and raised blood pressure is the reason given (although the consultant did say that if I was dead set against it they'd be able to monitor me closely instead). So not long to go now Grin

AmandaCooper · 22/06/2011 13:36

Lol we often do mornings, it's DH's preference not mine. I'm usually late for work as a result!

ShaggingWithIntent · 22/06/2011 14:06

OMG Squirrel - next week How exciting!!! I can't believe that there's another WIIT baby on it's way :)

Mine is still just a faint glimmer of hope at the moment..........

100years · 22/06/2011 19:58

Hiya ladies :)

We had the growth scan today :) Lovely to see where LO was lying and what position 'he' was in. Can say now - until a shift in position what are legs kicking, what is bum sticking out and stuff, although I was fairly confident with the bum thing before, nice to know about the limbs. All curled up in there, head down still :) back curved round and feet between bum and head! all very squished by the looks, but was really cool :)

We also found out the sex....... it appears to have a vagina! So my 'he' comments have been wrong and will now start saying she! :)

RE the nasty docs, when I went 3 weeks ago, the doc was quite rude, didn't explain things and made me feel awful, today doc was lovely and I get to have a consultation with the consultant midwife next time and discuss the options of water birth, it doesn't look likely, but it's better than the blanket no I got last time.

Anyway, I'm off to bed shortly, so tired, slept awfully last night and really hope I sleep better tonight as I'm up at 6:30 to go to physio before work! TTFN

Eeeeeeek Squirrel!!! How exciting! Keep us posted...well, as much as you can!

100 - Yay for a lovely scan!! And yay for girly bits!! :o Girls are great [biased emoticon] Wink

Finger is agony & I can't bloody well do anything properly! Angry Why did it have to be my right hand?! Hmm

AmandaCooper · 22/06/2011 20:43

OMG Squirrel I only just read back! Next week?? OMG!!!

So how do you feel about it, have you got any strong feelings either way? It won't be long anyway will it! Can't wait!

100years a little girl! It's unbelievable that we can grow actual little people inside our bodies! Hope you can get the birth you want. Why are you fancying water birth if you don't mind me asking?

AmandaCooper · 23/06/2011 07:57

Temp down this morning again, hopefully they are settling down a bit. Clearly the early EWCM was just a practice run, thank goodness. I've been reading up on how my Persona monitor works (I can't believe I left it till now to find out!) theoretically I will be able to use it to help me pinpoint OV.

Desperate to talk to someone about all this, sorry to be a bore.

ShaggingWithIntent · 23/06/2011 09:11

Hi AC

My Persona was ususally quite good at indicating OV but as my cycles were somewhat erratic at the start sometimes I wasn't POAS on the day I ovulated!!! I've stopped using it now I'm temping and using cheapie OV sticks as the Persona sticks weren't cheap!!!

My temp has gone up to the same it was at on this CD last month so it looks as though we're also back on track here!

PM me if you want - I'm prefectly happy to have TTC chat with you and it's not boring to me :)

squirrel007 · 23/06/2011 11:40

100years lovely news about the scan and finding it's a girl! Makes it seem all the more real :)

Amanda not really sure how I'm feeling right now - a bit up and down really! Am a bit worried about deciding the wrong thing (there's a lot of anti-induction/intervention feeling around) but also I'm quite liking the idea of not waiting around too much longer. And i'm still a bit in denial about actually having a baby!

Had a look at your chart but I have no idea how to interpret them, sorry!

AmandaCooper · 23/06/2011 18:30

SWI I'll definitely be taking you up on that, you may expect a full inbox towards the end of the 2ww I'm sure! Oh god I hope I at least feel that I've timed it right, it all seems horribly hit and miss. If only DH was a more willing participant - or better yet if only he didn't have to be involved! Grin

I think my wacky temps have been partly due to excessive boozing on my cousin's hen do. Glad that's out of the way. I kind of would have preferred not to drink but that would just have attracted too much attention from all the women in the family who are desperately on the look out for a sign!

Squirrel I see what you mean. I'm sure it will be alright either way but you can't help thinking with important decisions what if something goes wrong and I feel that I made the wrong choice. They wouldn't have given you a choice though if they felt it was dangerous. You wouldn't be far off your due date anyway would you. Must be extremely surreal.

strawberrypie · 23/06/2011 20:29

Hi all

A girl 100years! Fab news! I was so surprised when I found out we were having a girl but really happy.

OMG squirrel! not long now either way! If you would rather hang on and see if things happen on their own, the docs sound fine with this- difficult decision, what will you do?

Hi minipie-when do you start to TTC or have you started already? How long have you been WTTC?

Bebe- Get well soon finger! How annoying to not be able to do stuff! How is you OH? What does he say when you ask him why he is being moody? Does he notice that you are upset about it?

AC- your DH is making me dizzy! God only knows how you feel! You are a very understanding, patient person though and you sound like you deal with the situation so well. I know it's not an easy thing to plunge into parenthood when none of us really know how our lives will be affected but COME ON MrCooper! Good news about DTD when you had EWCM though-he knew what he was doing and still did it- Yay!

Thanks for the advice about nappies everyone, I have decided to get the birth-potty nappies and will prob go for the size 2 bamboozle stretchies, some motherease wraps, a set of reusable wipes and a bucket with net.

I am starting pregnancy yoga next week- has anyone else done it? Is it any good? :)

100years · 24/06/2011 08:51

SWI, hope the 12day wait doesn't do your head in too much.

bebe, glad the doc was tongue in cheek re the messing around. I remember my sister doing something to the ligaments in her wrist once messing around with her partner and ended up having an operation, this fun stuff is dangerous!

jbells, it will get better.

AC, how have things been the past few days re the FOF?

minipie, my LO is a morning conception, my OH is a definite morning person for that side of things, in fact, he's a morning person for everything! Night time for him is a more sleeping time! LO was conceived over a weekend off (my birthday), so therefore lots of nice morning wake ups!

squirrel, like you I'm not a morning person, I'm hoping LO doesn't mind me grunting at her when I pick her up at an unearthly hour! Wow for next week :)

Strawbs, glad you are settled on nappies now :) Not done peg yoga, wish I could have done, but they were all incompatible with my shifts at work and so never managed to get to a class, especially as you had to book x number of classes together, which I couldn't do.

I'm off work today, yep you shouldn't actually be seeing me in here at the moment as I should be at work about to start, but had 2 days of discomfort and struggling on, saw the physio yesterday who basically advised, resting for a while, getting a belt to support the hips, hot water bottles, small steps when walking and a few other bits and bobs. Tried to get through work, and was amazed I finished my shift yesterday, woke this morning, it hurt before I moved so I called in sick. Taking the weekend off, will do as physio suggested and hopefully will be right as reign next week for my next lot of shifts.

Morning ladies

Well I'm quite excited this morning because finally got my first positive result on the cheapy OPK sticks! Poor DH - it was at 1am this morning, I'd just got home from a fairly boozy night out with some friends and decided to POAS - positive result so he got woken up and jumped on...!

So lots of SWI over the next few days, and after that I will settle in for a 2WW... AC, SWI, I will see you on the March bus - I think you're about a week either side of me timing wise!

100years, I think my DH would be more of a morning SWI person if he could, but I am definitely not... I am half dead in the mornings! I'm impressed you can pinpoint your LO to a particular time... Just seen you're having a girl! wow how lovely! do you have a name chosen? Hope everything is ok health wise, take care and lots of time off Smile

squirrel so exciting about next week - that is amazing if a bit nerve racking! I must admit I don't really know anything about the pros and cons of being induced but at least it means you know when things will happen.

strawb yes we have recently started to TTC, first try was last month - BFN Sad. But then I had no idea about my cycle or anything so have since got a lot more knowledgeable (been peeing on OPKs like there's no tomorrow...) and hoping that this month will be more successful !

How long have I been a Waiter... gosh, can't remember! I was a Ditherer for a while (is there still a Ditherers' thread?) then "graduated" to Waiting, I guess last summer or so.

Re the pg yoga, I have a friend who really recommended it, she said she thinks it really helped with the birth. Do give us your feedback!

100years · 24/06/2011 11:22

Morning mini :)

Yay for the +ve OPK, fingers crossed the middle of the night SWI was good. If not practice is fun.

Well, re the pinpointing the particular time, we had a weekend away over my birthday, DTD on my birthday, and the following couple of mornings. My EDD puts me at a conception date of roughly the day before my birthday, now I'm no genius (well I am actually Wink) but if we didn't DTD on my EDD 'conception' day or before it, it must be at some point over that weekend, and therefore my EDD is a day or two out, but I'm not whinging as if I go over I will be induced earlier :)

I think we have picked a name, we aren't mentioning it to anyone though until after LO is born, would prefer to keep it between us for now. But OH has started calling her by her possible name as opposed to our nickname for her. It's very cute seeing him say how are you and X.

Everything else healthwise is fine, LO is head down so far, curled round to the right, bum by my belly button and feet between face and bum, one pic showed the face and a foot which was quite weird. Feel like drawing on my belly and taking a pic to symbolise where she was lying the other day! Actually that's a bit of a cool idea!

OP posts:
minipie · 24/06/2011 12:50

Smile 100years

Of course I'm now wondering whether the +ve OPK was caused by the cocktails and wine I had with my friends ... can OPKs be affected by booze does anyone know?

Fair enough to keep the name to yourself! Bet it makes it more real once you and DP can call her by her name. She sounds very flexible!! I think you should draw a pic on your belly, that sounds brilliant, kind of thing you will look back on and laugh.

100years · 24/06/2011 13:02

I haven't a clue re the OPK, never took any, but I wouldn't have thought so as it's looking for a hormone and not alcohol, it's whether the alcohol affects your hormones though. Sorry, that's not much help. Might get OH to do the drawing over the weekend, she's prob moved by now, but I do like the idea.

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 24/06/2011 13:39

As long as you weren't drinking luterizing hormone vodka shots or something!

ShaggingWithIntent · 24/06/2011 15:08

LH vodka.........Interesting :)
LH Vodka Martinis should be the drink of choice for the WIIT about town.

HOW IS IT ONLY 3:12??? THIS DAY IS GOING ON FOREVER!!!

ShaggingWithIntent · 24/06/2011 15:09

Excuse the shouting.... very frustrated!!!

minipie · 24/06/2011 15:33

If only they were available AC I'd certainly have had a couple!

SWI I think I spot a bit of 2ww frustration... how many days to go now?

AC how's your DH - still a bit wobbly?

ShaggingWithIntent · 24/06/2011 15:57

8 days....
and (TMI alert) my nipples are feeling funny today...... never had that before but I think I might actually be imagining it in my 2WW insanity!!

AmandaCooper · 25/06/2011 12:45

I am so stressed. It's CD15 and DH and I haven't had sex yet. I'm waiting for the goddamn EWCM to reappear and so far nothing. The line on the Persona monitor is I think slightly darker this morning than yesterday - but not significantly so. I'm freaked out because despite all this my temp is up a tiny bit this morning - so maybe we've missed it... but with no EWCM it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.

I sound mad, don't I!

AmandaCooper · 25/06/2011 12:49

Sorry SWI where are my manners? How are your nipples? Grin

ShaggingWithIntent · 27/06/2011 06:48

Wow. Another quiet weekend on here........ Must have been the good weather keeping everybody away from their computers!

My 2ww insanity continues. Got a really good feeling about this month but will have to wait until Friday to test. If I suggest testing early then restrain me as it's pointless!!!

squirrel007 · 27/06/2011 10:40

Hi everyone! Guess the hot weather has had everyone lazing in their gardens and away from the computer! I know that's where I've been this weekend ;)

strawberry think I will go ahead with the induction - if they started monitoring me more I'd just spend far too much time at the hospital (keeping waiting times down isn't their strong point). Haven't done pregnancy yoga, but DH suggested I do mum and baby yoga after, so I might look into that!

bebe how's your finger?

100years sorry you're off work, but I hope you get all the rest you need to start feeling better.

swi hope you can hold out till Friday! It's so tempting when it's easy to test, but doesn't actually help if you do it too early :)

Amanda how are things with your DH now?

Well I am going into hospital later in the week, and they tell me it might take a few days (they try and get things going slowly). We made space for the moses basket in our room last night, and now I just need to finish up tidying at home and filling the freezer with food! Not sure if I'll be back on this week, so keep your fingers crossed that it all goes well for me Grin
