That was the Finbar I was thinking of lm!
Crikey,my other kid's name has popped up!
She is 'star' in Welsh-Seren!!!

spidermama · 28/10/2005 18:41

Edgetop I know a Star too. I also know a girl named after a day of the week. At first I thought it very strange but she's such a fab girl (she's 7) that she can certainly pull it off. It's even begining to grow on me.

Lonelymum · 28/10/2005 18:41

MD??????? Confused. Did you mean to address your comment to SM?

Moondog, my daughter is Star in Italian. Stella.
I realise I'm not actually Italian but thought it was a popular enough name to have crossed over.

FauxVampire · 28/10/2005 18:42

I think that's the thing - you have to be able to pull it off. TBH, quite of mother of Merlin and Boudicca for daring to choose really avant-garde names and trust that kids would just get on with it. And who knows when the kid's a baby?

Lonelymum · 28/10/2005 18:43

SM??? Friday? Saturday? Wednesday?

Put us out of our misery! Her mother can probably already recognise who you are talking about from the information you have given.

spidermama · 28/10/2005 18:45

I don't know if I dare LM in case anyone says something mean about it.
But yes, one of those.

moondog · 28/10/2005 18:46

Hey no worries Issymum..something would be wrong if everyone liked it!
Sorry lm,meant sm.
Stella is a great name sm...sassy.

This is so bizarre..my name has now come up...Bethan!

Am I part of a reality tv show and being toyed with like cat with a mouse??

Earlybird · 28/10/2005 18:46

At nursery, DD was in school with a Frederico, an Achileas and an Om. But, should add that none of the parents are British, so perhaps the names aren't as unusual as they seem.

DD is in now in school with a child called Octavia - and the mum is very quick to say that it's pronounced Oct-ah-via....

moondog · 28/10/2005 18:47

Earlybird · 28/10/2005 18:49

My friend's nephew is called Harley....

Lonelymum · 28/10/2005 18:50

Moondog, have you been drinking? I have never known you reveal so much personal information about yourself before.

CarolinaFullMoon · 28/10/2005 18:51

I know a Wensde (sic). Her parents were inspired by Tuesday Weld apparently but thought Wednesday too cumbersome.

lanismum · 28/10/2005 18:51

i never ever say i dont like a childs name, cos i get annoyed when people turn their nose up at my dds name, i used to work in a childrens hospital, and come across some very unusual names, 1 little girl was called shimmer, it actually really suited her

moondog · 28/10/2005 18:53

Oh God,lm I think I reveal far too much.
I don't however go on about my sex life like some you will note.....

Anyway, how could I be anonymous? Seriously how many rabid Welsh nationalists live in Turkish Kurdistan d'you reckon???

No,not been drinking...haven't for days actually lol.

CountessDracula · 28/10/2005 18:53
