Ah yes but the English commentator pronounced it Eye-lish!!

bossykate · 28/10/2005 22:34

teehee!

you will never catch me admitting ds's and dd's names on mn. but - they are traditional names with strong family connections, with absolutely no aspirations to originality.

aloha · 28/10/2005 22:34

She wasn't christened Sasha btw, but Alexandra. I think BK and I share a common prejudice against giving children diminutives as names - eg Alfie instead of Alfred.

Am definitely not doing a birth announcement my new baby's called type thread on here.

You'll all be going "Oh, congrats, how lovely" and thinking "Wankers! What a stupid name!"

well we will if you call it munker, that's for sure

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 22:44

Aw, poor little Munker

Don't listen to the nasty ladies. We'll home school you so you never have to meet other children and I'm sure you'll grow up just as normal as your mummy.

Miaou · 28/10/2005 22:44

Who cares what anyone thinks, hunker? You will never please everyone (as we have all just proved )

Miaou · 28/10/2005 22:45

lol (one handed typing, can't keep up!)

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 22:45

No, I don't care really - am just a bit careful re names having been told we made a mistake with DS's...

We didn't, btw Hunker is a lovely name.

I love your DDs names too, Lockets

And yes, of course I'll tell you, loon

Hey, are we a clique?

princesspeahead · 28/10/2005 22:48

he won't grow up normal, hunker, he'll grow up to be a monk. Munk the Monk. Or possibly a wierd bloke with a chipmunk fetish.... Munk the Munkophile.

It is his destiny

Caligula · 28/10/2005 22:48

I am very prejudiced about diminutives. Always thought children should be given very grand names which can then be shortened to something sane. Like Polly being called Leopoldina in that Nancy Mitford book.
