princesspeahead · 28/10/2005 21:04

my son has 2 Theas in his year of 15 at school - one pronounced "thee-a" and one pronounced "Tia". Bloody confusing. Bit unfortunate really.

WOman down the road from me in london had two children called Hepzibah and Tegwyn. She was neither jewish nor welsh. She called them Heppy and Teggy which sounded rather like diseases to me...

startingtobehalloweenylover · 28/10/2005 21:04

weesaidie · 28/10/2005 21:04

I knew a Posie... I liked Mackenzie.

My dad once told me that he had read an article where a child had been called (by her eccentric father) Ima June Bugg... and she didn't mind!

JenumGeranium · 28/10/2005 21:04

I like Lucas - looked after a baby called Lucas - very sweet (must be about 7 now!)

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 21:04

I knew a Saddam Hussain (not Hussein, but near as dammit) - and yes, named after the "great man"... Poor little sod.

weesaidie · 28/10/2005 21:05

JenumGeranium · 28/10/2005 21:06

Hepzibah! That was one of our 'joke' names for a boy!

Its from 7 brides for 7 brothers!

Earlybird · 28/10/2005 21:06

DD is in a class of 17, and there are 4 children named Isabelle or Isabella. It's comical.

moondog · 28/10/2005 21:06

So you're a Debbie eh np????
Eddie Fisher was a bastard to your dad's love.

Spent a lot of timed working in the States and find their penchant for first names that sound like last names really odd.

Have a friend (bloke) called Parks. Wtf????

Also all this Daniel Moss 1st 2nd 3rd 4th stuff.

Weird.

I love the whole Southern double barrelled first nmaes though. Know a Dixie-Marie and it is never shortened.

Great.

Sarahx2005 · 28/10/2005 21:06

Tanzie · 28/10/2005 21:08

Lockets, Mieke is Dutch and pronounced "meeker". So would go quite well with your Saskia (which is v popular here, as is Anouk, which is also nice).

bootsmonkey · 28/10/2005 21:09
