Sput very pleased for you with the article and even more pleased for Ds and his school concert - we have regular outburst of whatever they have been doing at school but the funniest thing is dd doing the cancan which they are doing at gymclub. Skirt with frills ...Not sure about a garter and frilly knickers though! I am sure I really should be frowning about a 5yr old doing the cancan but I think its great and they all love it ! Oh And I am being a reindeer in the gym dance and have bells on my head and gloves with lights on !!!!!!! Minirosa is a gondolier ...that is if she comes out of the changing room I am not convinced so, there might be a reindeer holding a gondolier watching a cancan dancer !

I was a bit worried beforehand tbh as last xmas at his nursery he ended up getting upset at all the people and we had to leave, so although I was fairly confident he'd be ok this time there was that worry in the back of my mind. It was in a cinema with 60 or so kids and their parents etc, so quite a big thing. But apart from getting distracted a few times by his shadow on the wall behind him he did absolutely fine :)

And Rosa, I quite like the idea of doing the cancan, much better than those balletti vaguely imitating the moves of the veline, iyswim... and please, please post pics of the rosa family in their christmas version Smile. It sounds like you will have a great time Smile

I think a photo of the 3 or us will be on next years xmas card..... DH broke the Ikea record last week 3 times as he is a complete plonker. He went with the list with the codes , the PRICE etc . Basically it was 2 aste and 3 mensole ( its a set) which we had both looked at and agreed on. I wrote x2 on the list He bought the other items paid and diddn't think or look or thing why he spent less. He came home with 2 aste and 2 mensole. I told him he was a plonker as x2 ment the whole kit x2 he bought 2 mensole. Te next day ( the 8th) he went back and bought 4 mensole thus we had 6 = correct and another 1 aste ...... Thus meaning we still needed another 1 .... He went back on saturday and bought the final one. WIth benzina and road tolls its teh most expensive set of shelves yet. The real fun is going to start in the next few days as he has to put them up.. I am being very busy and going to be out s much as I can until they are up Xmas Smile

the worst of Britain. Or England I should say as dont see the rest of the Union getting all jingoistic! If I see one more reference to bulldog spirit and other war / Empire / stuck in the past nonsense I am going to explode!

all good, yes am here now Franca. Got here at the weekend. Planning an M&S food hall shop later-will think of you when scoffing carrot cake!

popping in and waving.... AM so busy its daft I just don't know how to fit it all in . In fact minirosas playdate this afternoon might have to be missed as I need to stop for 5 mins... I am now off to reindeer practice...... ( Why oh why oh why?)
Gio have a great time I will be in M&S probably the 24th at oh silly time. to get our xmas eve food....

Hi all - well after a hectic weekend. School ( dd1) festa Ven ( fantastic and emotional). 15 for pranzo sabato ...tutto bene . Then 'THE sHOW' on Sunday the gondolier diddn't make it due to febbre bu the can can dancer and the reindeer went well. Yes I have photos to prove it and I will post when I get back to Italy.....Promise, but I might chicken out and e mail them to you all instead. Monday festa at second school - again the children were great and sang magically. Took minirosa to paed on Tues just to check and all was ok . Wed we flew and it was all ok apart from minirosa having a 39 deg temp at LGW .....Calpol tt forza . Panic so took her to gp this morning he reckons it was tail end of cold/ virus and maybe the pressure inflamed her ears. HAve antibiotic just incase it comes back . She is a bit chesty but ok. We come out of GP dh gets a call to say that his employee has broken his ankle and 30 days in plaster. So 30 mins later on phone to BA it costs more to change his flight than book another one online ....Non capisco at all and I will be following it up. Anyway he goes back to Italy on 27/12. It will be out 1st new year apart since we met 14 years ago............
Domani off on steam train to see Babbo Natale..
I hope to come back to post again but if I don't before Christmas have a wonderful and Happy Christmas you wonderful Little Italy ladies, you are a wonderful group of people and you all deserve happiness and a great 2012. Un bacione enorme to all of you and your bimbi.......

Sorry to hear your dh has to go back to Italy so soon, I hope you both won't be too sad, you can always celebrate a belated NY's year once you get back to Venice Smile

I've had a very busy week too, cooking for the school fete and helping arranging etc, plus presents hunting for the remaining adults of our family. This year I noticed that the only things I really liked where out of my budget Hmm

Anyway, a warm Buon Natale from me too, I hope you all have a lovely time with your families. ANd lets all hope that 2012 will be a kinder year for everybody.
