She has 2 under 2s? No wonder your cousin is knackered! Poor woman Grin.

Thanks, we are off in a few hrs.

Have a lovely long weekend, ragazze Smile

Rosa · 27/10/2011 13:42

Banana Gio Auguri and life begins at 40 ...Or so they say !!!
Franca have a great time in the UK... Its warm again here , strange will have to haul the lighter jackets out again !!!!
Minerva maybe when he goes to a full day things might get a bit better and with 2 under 2 that is hard work. I had 2 under 3 and that was bad enough..And I still don't get a complete nights sleep !!!!

minervaitalica · 28/10/2011 08:37

OK - will pass the message on to cousin... There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Rosa, didn't realise that you had two so close together; respect. There is no end is it? I have only got one (3 yo) and still not get a complete nights sleep...

In-laws arriving today though... 10 days... argh...

Rosa · 31/10/2011 13:12

Hope Franca is having a good time I wish I was in the Uk right now! DD1 at a Halloween laboratory today and minirosa went to nursery and want to go to the halloween party later but if she doesn't nap then I can't see any of us going !!! Have said that DD has to wait another year before she can go trick or treating as we also have San Martino here in 10 days time where the kids do the same kind of thing .......
Hope its a good day where you are its still far too warm here ...

Francagoestohollywood · 01/11/2011 21:30

Hello to you all,
we had a truly wonderful time in the UK. It was so good to see our friends, and I even bumped into old neighbours etc! (and nearly wept at the sight of our old house).
The children were also happy to see their friends and they played very well together.
Even the weather was good (actually Friday was a truly glorious autumn day). Insomma, it was well worth the long trip. However, I didn't have the time to visit M&S. Next time!

Hope you all had a good Halloween. And Gio, Happy Belayed Birthday!

BananaGio · 02/11/2011 18:05

glad you had a lovely time Franca. How were the dc's with their English? Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone

Rosa · 02/11/2011 19:06

Franca so glad you had a lovely time and that the Dc had a good time as well ...never mind about M&S you will just have to go on a shopping trip .. I have just done a British Corner shop order but I will have to do every day in the gym to justify eating it ...But I am sure that the dds will help !!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 02/11/2011 19:59

The dc were fine with their English. They make some mistakes, especially prepositions or past tense, their accent isn't as devonian as it used to be, but all in all I am pleased that they are able to play with no probs, chat and aren't self conscious etc. Dd is less confident than ds, but after a day of not not really opening her mouth, she started to speak, and yesterday told me a whole story in English!

Rosa, I checked the British Corner, but was disappointed that they don't stock clotted cream Grin

Rosa · 03/11/2011 09:57

Now if the Corner shop did sell clotted cream I would be in serious trouble.......
I am taking a break from cooking as am doing Minirosas cake ( yes guys she is 3 on Sat !) and I must do cupcakes biscuits etc etc . I am trying the hummingbirds recipe so I hope finally I can make some decent biscuits as mine are rubbish.....
Franca thats great about the dc and that dd launched herself into English the lessons must have paid off.
Wonder how Minerva is doing with the Inlaws......

minervaitalica · 03/11/2011 11:43

BTW, you can get clotted cream shipped from Cornwall (Roddas)!

Minerva is surviving the inlaws, although I am glad I am back at work now Grin . Had a row with DH this am, but I suppose that's down to him being a fruit loop sometimes, not the inlaws. Thankfully my MIL is a lot more involved with DD - she found it really hard to interact with her when she was little (she must have held her 2-3 times max before this year), so DD is also more relaxed and playful. Now thinking about things to do at the weekend when the weather is unlikely to be very good. Really do not want to get stuck inside...

Franca, glad to know your trip went well. Cannot wait to go to hte UK too in teh second half of November - I have a baby shower planned (yay!) and a lot of school visits (nay).

Rosa, what cake are you planning for Minirosa? DD (was 3 in July) has her birthday in July and it's always to hot too make an iced cake then. So we had pineapple cheesecake this year.

Rosa · 03/11/2011 13:01

Cake is not working and I am doing my head in .. Its a 3D bunny and I just can't get the cake mixture right and to be honest I don't want to waste any more ingredients......ARGGHHHHH
Just done an SOS on here if anybody has any ideas if they have used them before as 1st round diddn't rise enough the second exploded.....

Francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2011 13:21

Hi Minerva, Smile to hear you are surviving the inlaws and that dd is enjoying their company. I am also happy to hear I can get clotted cream shipped!!!

Rosa, yes, I am pleased that their English is still there. Obviously they are not bilingual anymore, but they are certainly quite comfortable to speak it and it is still in their dna.

Oh no, why is the cake not working? I'll have a look, but I am not that accomplished a baker.

I am making an arrosto at the moment.

Francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2011 13:21

And Minirosa is already 3!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2011 13:23

oh dear, what is a 3d pan???

Rosa · 04/11/2011 08:49
