We know eight Laurens! Never knew a single one until we moved here. Most unusual I know is a girl in my postnatal group in Watford who called her baby Unique!

TwoIfBySea · 31/08/2005 21:04

Well on this small cul-de-sac there are 5 Caitlins, aged 7-10. Makes for confusion when you hear people shouting on them and a whole crowd appears!

There is also a Demi and Teagan (choice of the druggies who wear burberry a lot.)

And another ned neighbour has twins Ellie and William although when she is screeching after the poor mites you would be mistaken for thinking they are Ellluhy and Wuwyam.

Nixz · 31/08/2005 21:08

twoifbysea - absolutely lmao!! Had to say the two names at the end out loud to get the full effect

hunkermunker · 31/08/2005 21:11

The baby on tonight's Supernanny is called....Diesel!

mancmum · 31/08/2005 21:11

I know of a couple with Boadiccea and Maximus!! FFS!! at least they are called Max and Bo for short

Magscat · 31/08/2005 21:14

Diesel ???

Boadecia ???

What is that about ???

KateF · 31/08/2005 21:30

Good grief what are these people on?!

fqueenzebra · 31/08/2005 21:36

I don't know a single Max, not sure if I've ever met one.

(I tried to persuade Throckenholt to call one of her DTs Max, but she told me to call my own kid that if I like the name so much).

Anyway, in Loughborough the boys were usually Joshua, Thomas or William. The girls were Georgia, Katie or Isobel.

In North Norfolk boys are often Kieran; the girls are often Jasmine or Poppy.

Amy, Alex, Daniel and Lily popular both places.

Ted is cute. My friend recently had a Ted to go with her little Joe.

PeachyClair · 31/08/2005 21:41

fqz, My ds2 ihas Max as a second name, near enough.

I know over 20 Joshua's, and obviously Jacks and chloes. Lots of Holly's, and several of DS 1's school mates are called Ellie. Have lots of Olivia's at rainbows right now, too.

Seems to be lots of Harry's, but DS3 is harold, just in case he feels like being different (and as a family tradition).

CD, I used to live in Battersea. Recognise all the names you've mentioned but you obviously haven't met the Clapham family who called their daughter Pandora... seriously. Said in a very affected posh accent. Used to have to suppress my ROFL reaction...

KateF · 31/08/2005 22:36

We have a big contrast in names between friends from school;Heather, Jodie, Leyla, Samantha, Kieran, Jack, Peter, George, and friends from church;Rachel, Faith, Tabitha, Abigail and even Noah and Moses! (Moses' baby brother is Obadiah!)

Monstersmum · 31/08/2005 22:41

My cousin used to work as a paeds nurse in a hosp in Dublin (where I am from!) and some of the names were priceless. There was even a Pochahontas!! (sp?) And something that sounded like Wivonnie but turned out to be Yvonne!

My sis is Orla! But we are Irish and it is an Irish name - she hates it.

My ds is Matthew - glad to see that didn't come up on any lists!
