Tea Room the Tenth: Tea and cake and rock and roll

1000 replies

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 07/09/2009 23:29

Welcome back to the tea room.

In the search for the perfect venue, we have now decamped to a rambling country estate. The once-decaying castle, now restored, is a boutique hotel, popular with rock and roll gentry and visiting bishops, and the tea room (which never closes) is located in a tastefully converted barn. The charming garden contains a duck pond and ends in a haha. We need the haha, of course, to stop the bison trampling the herbaceous borders. Mellors the gardener is, as ever, in charge of the grounds.

Please come and join us for a celebratory drink.

OK. Have knitted one third of a bootee. Not bad for five hours work - the dropped stitches give it a charming lace effect, doncha know.

Daisy??!!!!

Tea - I didn't know you were such a dab hand with needle and thread! They are gorgeous.

I need a drink to steady my nerves. Would anyone like to share some prosecco with me?

Oh - yes please!!! Cheers!

Generally I am all fingers and thumbs when it comes to sewing but for Daisy and Catita I just felt so inspired!!!

We have our own family addition acktuarly ... we have reserved a puppy dog... and have decided to call her Eccles mainly due to Eccles in The Goon Show and a bit because of the cakes too...

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 15/09/2009 23:21

Crikey! She's tiny. When will you get her? I don't really 'get' pets (sorry) but she does look very sweet.

I'm tottering off to bed now. All this hanging around on tenterhooks is so exhausting. I won't get any work done tomorrow as I shall be hovering here!

Catitainahatita · 16/09/2009 02:56

Daisy? And i thought you said that all the frolocking had been in oand out of the waves

Unless we are very much mistaken, some more racy action was had as well

Please come back and tell us more!

thumbwitch · 16/09/2009 02:59

tis a bit late for her now, ladies - just us dodgy timezoners on here now!

CMOTdibbler · 16/09/2009 08:10

Given the beauty of her mum, the new puppy will grow up to be gorgeous I think. We chose one of our cats at the teeny kitten stage, and I always think of her as a squeaky sausage

I feel the need to make a tiny smocked dress for the new Kittenito...

teafortwo · 16/09/2009 08:48

Thanks CMOT - My SIL has Eccle's Mum's litter brother and MIL has Eccle's Mum's litter sister and they are really very beauiful too in looks and character! I'm really hoping we have made a good choice...

wonders which of them will be The Good Cop and which The Bad Cop>

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 16/09/2009 16:27

Thank you for your help with the investigation, Jacksmama. Those jodhpurs are very fetching.

Now, we need Tea to arrive in full CRS riot gear. That will encourage the felon Daisy to waive her right to silence and make a statement.

I'm still dribbling over the Mounties!

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 16/09/2009 19:34

Well, very chic, Tea, but will they be any good for intimidating our -suspect encouraging Daisy to explain her intriguing comments?

Here's a little dinnertime treat for Mary.

Do you think Daisy nicked off back to teh amazon with daisy bloke??

Thanks for teh cupcakes, they were delicious, how kind of you to lay them like a treasure hunt.
Tomorrow boy and I are odd to see the bike race, we are going to teh end of stage 6, DH is going to ride to somewhere in teh middle of stage 6 to stand at teh top of a big hill climb and watch for a bit. Then on Friday, Stage 7 comes with in a few miles of home, so we shall drop boy at preschool and then DH and i nip off on the tandem to watch a flash of pleton whizz by.

teafortwo · 16/09/2009 22:37

[I knew they would come in handy emotion]

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 16/09/2009 22:52

Catitainahatita · 16/09/2009 23:19

In all the Daisy-excitment, I forgot to thank all you knitters and crocheters for the delightful outfits so far offered for the impending Gatita. We are very grateful!

Perhaps we should try a wee song to get her back:

"Daisy, Daisy, give us your answer do,
We're all going crazy
All for the loss of you.

We want more news now, damn it,
If you've got a bump, why not flaunt it?
But please tell us soon,
Or we'll all swoon
Tired off waiting for news from you!"
