Would anyone like a cup of tea and a muffin?

I'm tired and in need of refreshment.

The tea room is now officially open, serving hot chocolate, tea, freshly-squeezed orange juice and a range of home-baked muffins. Tablecloths and crockery are charmingly mismatched antiques (no Cath Kidston here). We overlook an attractive although somewhat overgrown garden, with a distant view of rolling countryside.

Everyone is welcome but house rules dictate that anyone indulging in fisticuffs will be ejected.

Please come in.

by the way, JM, I am very envious of the snow

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 22:25

racingsnake - Good to see you! Did you have the tooth out today? Don't feel you need to speak - just nod or shake your head in time to the hypnotic beat of the music! I'll resist the temptation to dip into your ice cream - stem ginger is one of my favourites - but are you allowed some champagne?

The next song is dedicated to racingsnake's tooth.

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 22:36

Ooops! Crossed with tea.

Lovely to see you too, but if you continue to make jokes about the gardener's dibber this is going to be more Carry On than Ab Fab!!

Come on someone, surprise and amaze me with another dance choon.

Here is another dance choooon!!!! Ha ha ha!!!

Lets all dress up as the band too...

I bagsy being the Indian (clearly the coolest one in the band on account of his headdress!!!!)

teafortwo · 20/11/2008 23:01

T42 swaps 'Gina' (customized with a dead pigeon stuck in the flower after using Bocca's car to get to my meeting today) for the Indian headdress... pssssssssssst... why was 'the Gina' such a talking point... I think I have naively missed something???

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 23:09

Thanks for the ice cream and (I think) for the spoon, racingsnake. Only last week, my doctor was telling me that one theory about the prevalance of allergies is that we don't experience enough sub-clinical dirtiness. And that scarf does look fairly clean.

Aaargh!! How could we have a proper disco without that tune. Thanks, tea!

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 23:15

Tea - I've been meaning to speak to you about the Jag.

I would be happy to set up a car-sharing club - it would enhance the tea room's green credentials - but I think I have to insist that the car is returned in the same condition that it was lent. Kindly therefore remove the "tea4two heart the gardener" sunshade from across the top of the windscreen and arrange for that large dent to be removed from the front bumper. I know you had very little time to get to your meeting, but the police were here earlier questioning why I (or so they thought) had been seen driving at 80mph down the wrong side of the dual carriageway. I think I managed to smooth things over but we really can't take such risks again.

Jacksmama · 20/11/2008 23:21

Hi racingsnake, sorry about your tooth... here, have some more champagne, the cold and alcohol should help. Poor thing!

You all and your tunes... I feel so sadly out of touch music-wise. At my house it's "I'm a little teapot" right now... that's the extent. Although I recently discovered the Babies Go CD's, and the other ones, that take adult music and do them like lullabyes... invented, I bet, by someone who was about to lose the plot at the fiftieth go-round of "The Wheels On The Bus"!!!

Tea, the Gina thing was from before when I didn't know what Bucharest meant on another thread when she said she thought she was going to be a GF mum but then thankfully her baby had other ideas... I asked on here who GF was and Bocca told me that we don't mention her or the other old bag one who thinks she knows everything about raising babies but in reality knows fuck-all only her own dubious methods... she of the terribly insulting "accidental parenting" line...

Some day someone is going to have to turn this thread into a play. We should all portray ourselves. I'll be the one who's always a few hours behind...

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 23:24

Will the play be a comedy or tragedy? I want to be played by Bette Davis (tricky, I know, but they can do a lot with digital trickery) or Kristin Scott Thomas.

teafortwo · 20/11/2008 23:35

There is a knock at the door... oh dear... it is the Police...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3kG-7I_Y6k

They take T42 away in handcuffs...

Slight confusion and muttering... Is this over the mentioning of 'Gina' or poor driving????

BoccaDellaVerita · 20/11/2008 23:39

Oh dear. I was about to this for tea. I hope she'll get bail.

daisy99divine · 20/11/2008 23:51

Bocca darling it was ME DAISY helping to polish the gardener's dibber...

Poor old duck, I guess your glasses have got a bit misty (the ones on your eyes, not the one with the Bolly in)

I can't do toons, no ability to link, me, can we have Boy George though sometime??

Racing Snake, good to see you, I think it's time you got your daughter in from the garden, she's been there a couple of days now

BBPants, you wafted in and out as usual - amazing you can waft with pants like that

I am sure that that Police man was actually part of a rather good three piece band, so we'll see T42 again soon

If we were a play I'd be the drab maid in the corner, standing with the blooming tray of sherry while all the gad abouts rush in and out

or I'd be the governess...

daisy99divine · 20/11/2008 23:52

Actually, T42 has probably been arrested by GF police - wasn't it part of the "agreement" that they'd be no mention of GF on MN ever ever again?

And JM you still have to spill the beans re CHAT!

(see I don't even poke my nose out into MN let alone RL!)

BoccaDellaVerita · 21/11/2008 00:08

daisy - I am so sorry. I got my wires crossed. When the conversation really gets going here, and everything's moving so quickly, I can get a little confused. And the Bolly intake probably doesn't help.

I am putting this disc on the decks, to make amends.

While you bright young things disport yourselves on the dance floor, I am going to bed.

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 01:43

hum hum do you really want to MAke me cr-y-y!!

top night ladies!

mistlethrush · 21/11/2008 09:08

Daisy that bread smells delicious - I could just do with a slice to go with the homemade apple and ginger jam that dh moshed up over the weekend with some windfalls...

Sorry, couldn't stop by yesterday. Dh put his footdown to another night out dancing.

Anyone else for a cup of tea?

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 10:06

tea: lovely!!

mistlethrush · 21/11/2008 10:27

You're looking very chipper this morning Daisy despite all the smooching and late nights. How do you do it.

Cnut I am rather a hat-person myself. I love them. Luckily for my purse and my cupboards, I can rarely find ones that are remotely sensible that will fit, also having quite a large head. Ds has also inherited this trait which unfortunately means that he never gets to wear some of his clothes because, by the time they are the right size to fit him, he can't get his head through the nect . And I just can't face doing the same that my mother did (ie splitting everything at the neck/shoulder seam, making good and sticking on buttons etc) - clothes were relatively much more expensive then I suppose

racingsnake · 21/11/2008 10:31

Thank you everyone; champagne and luxury icecream is obviously the answer to tooth problems! Feeling much better.

Thanks for concern over dd but her father picked her up and she is now in his more than capable hands while I dash off to work. Thank you to the Norland nannies who changed her tights and emptied her wellies after the puddle 'plashing.

OK if I grab a slice of bread while I dash off to see if my class are still sitting there drawing lines of symmetry of their polygons? Feel I may have missed assembly.

Am planning to make large batch of German Christmas biscuits for cafe but NOT until December. Christmas needs no encouragement from me.

mistlethrush · 21/11/2008 10:44
daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 11:13

oh LOL at christmas humbug!! Racing you are forgiven, with grot teeth all is forgiven!

But I am getting so EXCITED - the lights are up and DS and I went to Sloane Square yesterday - it was FAB, so pretty all blue with floating snowflakes - at 2.5 he is now getting hang of Christmas

people nearby had large trees delivered in October, though crikey chrstmas totally too early - actually they put them outside windows as large modesty bushes!!!

glad no more children stuck in garden. grabs another slice of toast and rushes off to meeting

LOL MT at husband not wanting more dancing. I am not feeling too chipper actually, my eyes are a bit red and hurty...

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 11:14

Has anyone sprung T42 from Jail yet? there's not much for bail costs in that honesty box

mistlethrush · 21/11/2008 11:32

Daisy - I'll have another cuppa - here - does that help at all?
