I know. But we can only get same day appointments if we call in the morning and due to cut backs they closed the walk-in service (the ones who referred me on a Sunday before). Been guzzling water and while really didn't feel like going to town/swimming feel better for soaking up some love sunny vitamins. Definitely need another Bobble Bottle (so SB can have his own).

UniS · 10/06/2014 22:32

Helllooooooo, I'm back. did you miss me?

It was a busy muddy weekend. Boy was racing again tonight , came 3rd after a good race which he led for eth first 5 minutes. and he nearly managed to catch the 1st/ 2nd riders when they started messing about with some private feud between themselves in the closing laps of the race.

Artisan biscuits and hot choc for any one??

Ooh, yes please.

::slurp::

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 06:46

Oh morning, back again so soon? You come awfully early, every day. Don't you want a break, too?

Brew anyone?

mistlethrush · 11/06/2014 12:21

Beautiful day here - shame I've got no site visits to go on!

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 13:30

Yes, nice day here, too. All of SB's friends are busy/not available to spend the day at the park with us and a full day at the park isn't quite as much fun with just the two of us. I think we might have a picnic dinner -- lay out the picnic blanket under the tree, take out sandwiches, etc., and some books and just eat and read outside.

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 14:51

Sometimes I watch SB and I envy his being four years old. His life is so happy and carefree.... I should crack on but instead am sitting watching him as he plays with the water and bubbles and sponges and plastic containers.

mistlethrush · 11/06/2014 14:52

You definitely need to supervise him Scout - ideally with a cup of tea in hand....

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 15:31

I had a fizzy Ribena and a packet of ready salted crisps instead of tea (I don't under Brits and the constant tea drinking even when they're hot). I remember water play at his age. I miss being that carefree.

MaudantWit · 11/06/2014 19:40

I'm thoroughly British but still don't get the obsession with tea. I have one cup in the early morning and that's plenty for me.

Aquarobics is the closest I get to water play these days, sadly.

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 20:19

Aquarobics is good fun, Maud. I've done it once or twice and would love to be able to go regularly.

Right, silly question seeing as I've never had them.... If someone says they have an itchy head but no nits have been found (as of the time of texting to give a heads-up), what does this someone's friend need to do? Just nit comb wet? (dry?) for a few days to keep checking?

Well done to UniS's Boy on his race, by the way. Grin

Donki....oh Donki.... there's fresh hay and a bucket of carrots for you....

MaudantWit · 11/06/2014 20:25

I think checking

MaudantWit · 11/06/2014 20:28

Once or twice for nits should be enough. After all, an itchy scalp could be many things and no nits have been found.

I like Aquarobics and that and Aqua Zumba are the only classes I do. I don't otherwise like the gym.

Yes, where is Donki?

::Mellors sets up the massage table and fluffs up the towels::

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 20:47

Well, that's what I thought, too, Maud, when my friend text to tell me as a "heads up" but rereading the message it sounds like she's sure. I have a nit comb already but nothing else. I thought I'd check SB in the morning before I pop him in the shower (dry) and then check again after (wet). He's good at combing/getting combed so I hope he sits long enough to let me go through him carefully.

So the possibility of nits on top of being around a little boy at the playground yesterday who had chicken pox.... yes, I might just being hit with two childhood issues at once. Lovely. Yay me/us.

I can't get MrScout to commit to being home at the same time one night a week in order for me to go to the evening Aquarobics or Aqua Zumba. They do do a class one weekday morning -- I might see if I can arrange a reciprocal childcare arrangement and start going more regularly to the daytime class.

Scout19075 · 11/06/2014 21:53

Bah, no, friend definitely has it. Blurgh. I know what SB and I are doing in the morning.

MaudantWit · 11/06/2014 22:21

Argh. Do you have conditioner? That helps with the combing and in many ways is preferable to the napalm nit lotions. I am thankful that The Girl has only caught nits on a couple of occasions as combing her long hair is a nightmare.

The childcare swap so you can do a daytime class sounds like an excellent plan. Everyone deserves a bit of me time.

teafortwo · 11/06/2014 22:34

Found myself over in this corner of the interweb so thought I should pop in and say howdeee.... I also need to get back to keep fik classes too....I did Capoiera last yr and lufft it soooo but could not timetable it in for this year.... also miss yoga.... I do get jealous of Mums who do the school run with eqrnest smiles, yoga mats and designer yoga outfits.... sigh!!!!!!

MaudantWit · 11/06/2014 22:45

Tea! How lovely to see you!

::clasps Tea to her ample bosom::

Maybe you'd like a massage with Mellors as Donki hasn't arrived yet to claim it?

UniS · 11/06/2014 23:22

I think you should grasp the opportunity for a pummeling from Mellors with both cups and go for it tea. Nice to see you.

TEA!!!!!!

Oh deary me, what stupid time has SB woken me up at?!

Scout19075 · 12/06/2014 05:57

Really, SB, now is not the time to ask me about Jupiter's rings!

I am cursing myself for not taking SB to get his haircut last week it would have made combing so much easier. I only have my adult tea tree conditioner, nothing for small boys he still uses Johnson's shampoo since he has a tendency to get it in his eyes--. Might go to the store and see if there's a SmallBoy friendly conditioner.

As a child my hair was so long I could sit on it and my sister had (still does, it's natural) tight spiral curls (think Shirley Temple or fresh from the salon with a perm) -- lice would have been hell in my house.

Scout19075 · 12/06/2014 06:30

Just what every woman wants to hear at 6:25 in the morning -- "Look, Mommy, I made you a smiley lip out of train track!". Great, thank you SB, I'd much rather have more sleep.

TEA!!! Hello darling!

Apologies to everyone else for absence. Been busy and stressful at Chez Jack - nothing bad, but just everyday stuff piling up and annoyances and I just feel so stressed and pressured and hideous most of the time. Teachers' strike looming here, must get final taxes done, and I'm so tired... does anyone else feel like they could sleep for a year and still be tired?

Sorry about me-me-me. I know you've all got stuff to deal with.

teafortwo · 12/06/2014 21:23

Jacksmania.... xxx You are next on the massage table ma belle.... xxx
