Welcome to the Tea rooms newest incarnation. A cozy log cabin with a roaring log fire, comfy chintz sofas and a dedicated man about the house, our Butler, Mellors. Out of the windows you can see sparkling white snow gently drifted up under the green Christmas trees and bright blue skies. Children can all be packed off to play healthy outdoor stuff while we stay snug n warm in here with our mulled wine, tea, artisan hot chocolate and other beverages served in mugs, glasses or buckets.

The usual rules apply - no fisticuffs. And no messing with the aspidistra.

He's doing his own too - but "if 'twere done, 'twere best done quickly..."

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/04/2014 21:15

We watched the Great British Sewing Bee and are now watching a programme about the garden at Great Dixter. It's lovely.

Donki · 08/04/2014 21:16

Sounds good Maud.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/04/2014 21:19

Yes, it's very soothing.

How has your day been, Donki? How's the YD today?

Donki · 08/04/2014 21:21

He's had quite a good day thank you Maud. We even managed the household shopping without trauma. Then he went round to a friend's for the afternoon, and I got to play in the soggy garden.

Scout19075 · 08/04/2014 21:31

What do folks think of Carrot Cake Jam?

We're watching The Sewing Bee now since I was watching an episode of my DVD program when MrScout came home and he knows I need to finish an episode before turning over. Don't tell me who won!

Does anyone have plans for tomorrow?

Jacksmania · 08/04/2014 21:34

Good news Scout :) Flowers

Donki, is it to spur him into action?

Donki · 08/04/2014 21:41

Exactly JM.

I feel as though I am waiting for my execution - and I just want it over with.

He says he just wants some space to think so that he can decide what to do - but I don't have a lot of hope.

Scout19075 · 08/04/2014 21:41

MrScout has just ordered the newest member of SmallBoy's warren. It's probably an odd color/choice for a small boy but every time we see it at JL he cuddles it, does "the bunny rub" (the rub/snuggle that he does with Bunny and other bunny friends) and asks "Please Mommy, can we buy him today?" He doesn't take to every JellyCat bunny. There was only one other he begged to buy and when we didn't his face fell though he put it back. My MiL bought it for SB's Santa stocking and to this day SB still says "Santa brought me Baby Chocolate Bunny because he knew I loved him. He saw me loving him and brought him for me to love at home."

Only the Easter Bunny brings the "medium" (Bunny-sized) bunnies. The smaller ones, including the one Santa brought, can arrive at any time. I can't wait to see SB's face when he sees the new bunny in his basket.

Donki · 08/04/2014 21:44

Aww, bunny looks very lovable.

Scout19075 · 08/04/2014 21:49

I never did get to update my FB cover with a picture with the Christmas addition to the warren. Will have do one over Easter with the little brown one and the new rose one. Poor Bunny still only has one arm and is even floppier than ever. He's so loved.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/04/2014 21:51

I think, in line with the principles of the Let Toys Be Toys campaign, that if SB wants a pink bunny, he should have a pink bunny. It is very cute.

Scout19075 · 08/04/2014 21:55

Don't worry, the pink bunny has been ordered and will be delivered to MrScout's office by the end of the week. I'm very excited by it.

UniS · 08/04/2014 23:00

10m may be a little on the close side donki, but it would be better than 10 miles. Will near enough for YD to go over to dads independently be viable?

SCout - boy had/ has a jelly cat soother, baby blue dog, he was also given Daddy blue do ( a play mat sized version). Both are still on his bed 8 years on. Thankfully most of boys cuddlys are small in size, so there is still room for boy in the bed.

SO most of us have been watching sewing bee at some point tonight then. Amazingly our connection didn;t hang up too badly till the last 30 secs of the credits this time. Last few weeks we have had to wait till wednesday to watch as the BBC site has not had enough bandwidth,.

DS bought himself a scruffy jellycat bunny in the sale after last easter. It's called Scruffy. Nothing like imaginative names. One of his dogs is called Egmont - but that is because it is called that on its collar. We cunningly bought 2 of the toy we decided would be suitable to be a favourite - for quite a long time we managed to keep up the pretense that there was just one - with the odd visit from her 'sister' who then mysteriously disappeared - and sometimes Nellie (there's another good name) appeared in the top of the wardrobe when she couldn't be found in the evening... Now he just has both of them!

Scout19075 · 09/04/2014 20:42

Because SB is nearly as long as his bed, and he's suddenly taken to having all of his stuffed friends on his bed (not just his warren), there's not much room for a small boy. But he seems happy like that.

Tonight he went to bed with his Lego Man flashlight (on) and an empty toilet roll tube so he could spot the monsters and shout at them though the tube and startle them so they'll go away. Hey, whatever works!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/04/2014 20:46

That sounds good, Scout, if the loo roll megaphone makes him confident that he could scare off the monsters!

Scout19075 · 09/04/2014 20:49

Last night "a light time" one came soon after I left his room. So I went back upstairs and from the steps (because the top of his steps is right outside his door) I told him to shout at them so he sat up, grinned and said through his tube "Go away monsters, I'm trying to sleep!" He was asleep within minutes.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/04/2014 21:26

Fab!

beanandspud · 09/04/2014 23:11

Hello all!

I seem to keep losing track of the tearoom but have been trying to catch up with all of the goings on tonight. Mr Bean is away, I am at home (which quite frankly has been not often enough over the last few weeks) and everything is quiet. I have also caught up on Sewing Bee and Masterchef!

Took Small Bean to the cinema tonight which was fun. He still sleeps with a bed full of cuddlies although they do get alternated (depending on who has behaved Grin) and thankfully stay in the bedroom.

I hope that all of the tearoom DC are enjoying the Easter holidays, where has this year gone? It only seems like weeks ago that I was getting my head around the start of a new academic year...

Donki I do hope things get sorted quickly for everyone's sanity. 'Limbo Land' feels like a very stressful place to be right now.

Donki · 09/04/2014 23:56

Hmm, yes, I am finding Limbo land a very difficult experience. I am very anxious and sleeping really badly.

?Tucks self up in special blanket with the beauyiful pillow and a huge heap of soft fragrant lavender scented hay?

Donki · 10/04/2014 08:02

Yum!
I see that Mellors has decided it is Hot Cross Bun season.

I'm a little shocked - I thought he would be more traditional and wait for Holy Week.

But they smell (and taste) wonderful.
GF too!

Scout19075 · 10/04/2014 09:01

Today I'm grateful for a "playdate" at the playground -- my sinuses are killing me and SB is bouncy and I fear I'd be shouty grumpy mom if we were left at home on our own.

I keep eyeing up the left over pizza in the 'fridge and wondering if I'm too old for pizza for breakfast.....

UniS · 10/04/2014 12:51

have house full of 3 boys. much ninja and menace action ensues. Now full of lunch I think they are about to play football when the smallest one rescues the ball from under the car ( where he just lost it to.)

Scout19075 · 10/04/2014 17:36

Yay, 5/6 hours outside (that's including the walk to/from the playground we went to). SB was practically asleep on his dinner. He's now curled up on the chair, watching his couple of bedtime episodes. If I didn't have everything prepped to make a batch of jam tonight I'd go to bed at the same time, I think!
