Welcome to the Tea rooms newest incarnation. A cozy log cabin with a roaring log fire, comfy chintz sofas and a dedicated man about the house, our Butler, Mellors. Out of the windows you can see sparkling white snow gently drifted up under the green Christmas trees and bright blue skies. Children can all be packed off to play healthy outdoor stuff while we stay snug n warm in here with our mulled wine, tea, artisan hot chocolate and other beverages served in mugs, glasses or buckets.

The usual rules apply - no fisticuffs. And no messing with the aspidistra.

Lights out in SB's room which means I can either watch grown-up television or go to bed myself.

Donki · 04/04/2014 16:23

Those were the days... :)

Donki · 04/04/2014 16:24

I don't escape until 8.30pm nowadays...

Scout19075 · 04/04/2014 16:29

I guess no one else is watching Nina and the Neurons, are they?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2014 16:38

Ah yes, those were the days. Except they never really were the days for us, because if The Girl had gone to bed at 7pm she would barely have seen her father during the week. These days I cannot bear to reveal how late she goes to bed, once the mountain of homework has been done.

Scout19075 · 04/04/2014 16:44

When MrScout was based on London the boys only saw each other on weekends. Now he's in YOUT they see each other in the mornings. A couple of MrScout's current projects are US based so I normally don't see him until about 8/8:30 and since SB doesn't sleep until 7 a.m. no matter what time he goes to bed for both our sanities I try to lights out around 7 so he's asleep 7:15/7:30.

Scout19075 · 04/04/2014 19:33

OMG he needs to stop chanting "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" He doesn't want/need anything!

Jacksmania · 04/04/2014 20:10

Late, as usual (darn time difference).

Donki, I think that Mr. Donki staying on in the house is not an option. Just, no. "Leaving you" means just that. Off you go, bye bye.

I am so sorry :(

Also feeling a bit sorry for self because furnace still not fixed, and looks like it's going to much more expensive than we thought. Shit.

Donki · 04/04/2014 21:28

I just feel confused. "He cares for me and doesn't whant to hurt me" and having said he will move out has just booked 3 days off work to spend with me and Peter.

My brain hurts

Donki · 04/04/2014 21:30

I'm going to bed. Really tired and can't think straight.

Night night all and thanks for being there. You make such a difference.

Scout19075 · 04/04/2014 21:38

Good night, Donki. I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight.

Faquing furnace won't be fixed until Monday. Thank goodness it's April and not December. Or December in Ontario, even.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2014 22:44

No wonder your brain hurts, Donki. Are those three days supposed to be a long drawn-out leave-taking?

::tops up the lavender hay::

Not long till Monday, Jacksmania.

::let's be positive here::

UniS · 04/04/2014 22:59

for those who are not yet asleep
units tops up the wine glasses, adds some very nice whiskey in study tumblers and a good selection of tapas to the table.
going to a " big breakfast" in the morning, boy will be in heaven with unlimited toast.

Did someone mention wine?

::waggles glass, slightly desperately::

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:23

Just been woken up by a phone call from my little heard from sister...

Wow! What a comfortable donki bed. The blanket is gourgeous - snuggly and my very favourite colour.

JM - did you crochet the pillow yourself?
It is beautifully soft.

Did someone mention carrot wine?

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:25

I hope your furnace woes are bearable until Monday, JM

?Thinks warm weather thoughts in your direction?

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:25

?Holds out bucket hopefully?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2014 23:26

Does your sister live nearby, Donki? Is she likely to be a source of support?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2014 23:32

::fills Donki's bucket to the brim::

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:34

Sister is 3-4 hours away in deepest darkest N. Wales...
She will be supportive insofar as she can (shift work with 12hr shifts for the NHS.

We are not close though - after she blamed me for lots of "stuff" and went NC for several years.

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:34

Carrot wine - a brilliant soporific.

Donki · 04/04/2014 23:36

Aaaah!
?Quaffing sounds?
?Smacks lips?

Just what the doctor vet ordered.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2014 23:37

Hope the carrot wine does the trick. I must go and clean my teeth before I conk out on the bed.

How was the YD tonight?
