We have moored the barge for the winter and have moved to a beautiful, cosy log cabin in deepest Scandinavia overlooking a frozen lake and surrounded by pine trees.

Mellors has lit the log fires and candles, it is snowing outside and there are comfortable seats for everyone and fleecy blankets to snuggle up in. For the more active tearoomers there are skis and sledges outside as well as a steaming hot tub for winding down after a busy day.

So pull up a chair. The kettle is on for Brew and there is always plenty of Wine depending on your mood and time zone. (Alternatively there is schnapps, smorgasbord and smoked fish).

Everybody is welcome ? share as much or as little as you like ? but no fisticuffs please!

Hell Maud, where shall we go next? National trust ? spring watch barn? or somewhere hot and sunny? Perhaps we could all join Thumb in Australia? there must be some nice tea rooms in the mountains of New South Wales? serving cake and refreshments to hikers in need.

Until the frosts of the last couple of nights, I was feeling quite vernal, but it'suddenly feeling very wintry here. Somewhere warm would be delightful. How about the hot springs of New Zealand? Sporty types can go hiking and biking while I have a massage in the spa with the Antipodean Mellors.

I also have Wine to prepare us for our move.

Yes, it has seemed quiet on here recently. I have to admit that I have been trying to spend a bit less time on mn and do some work/get a bit of exercise/read a book instead.

It's a quiet Saturday night chez Bean. Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

NZ sounds lovely.

Am just going out for dinner with local MNetters. DH appears to have eaten something dodgy, and ds is asleep

Anybody got a cure for tantrums in a 9 year old?
The YD's life expectancy is getting rather short at the moment.....
