Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

'evening!

Scout19075 · 03/11/2011 18:49

Hello!

Jacksmania · 03/11/2011 19:12

Hello everyone, we are off to see DH this weekend (in California). Will see if I can get online there, if not, have a lovely weekend!! xxJM

UniS · 03/11/2011 20:09

bit busy today and till after weekend. Show day is Saturday, Lighting rig and dress rehearsal tomorrow. Today was spent making limbs for puppets and getting teh generator sited and then back again for a rehearsal at 6pm. Thankfully a neighbour ( and friend) said she would baby sit, read boy stories and send him up to bed. I came home ASAP after rehearsal for fear I would get talked into doing more on the puppets.

Boy is VVVV excited about going for a sleepover tomorrow night.

FineLad's 19th birthday today. Needless to say, he's over with his harem of young ladies.

Brew available.

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 10:01

Happy Birthday, FineLad!

beanandspud · 04/11/2011 10:57

Happy Birthday Fine Lad!

And Happy Friday to the Tearoomers!

Things seem to be back to normal in the Bean house. Random sickness (at 44 hour intervals Confused) seems to have gone and I am madly tidying up for arrival of Grandma and Grandpa Bean.

Brew and Biscuit - yes please!

Donki - your post brought back memories of mischief night (tonight I believe?). Was it just a Yorkshire tradition?

CMOT - hope the injections are working and you're not in as much pain.

JM - enjoy Disney!

Thumbwitch · 04/11/2011 13:16

Happy BIrthday to the Fine Lad! Is it Wine time yet?

Hurrah for busy weekends!
Mine too - miniThumb will be off with grandma from about 10:30 tomorrow, as she is having to look after a friend's 2 DDs and we need her to look after miniThumb from about 4pm (when I have to head over to the SDA Church for our performance of the Messiah) until 7pm when DH gets back from his day out working (yes, even though it's Saturday) - the only way she can manage it is to have him all day. He won't mind in the slightest and actually it works a bit in my favour too - there are a couple of bits I need to practise and it's just easier when there's no one else in the house!

CMOTD - hope your elbow is feeling more the thing now?

Bean - glad your household has calmed down too :)

Jacksmania · 04/11/2011 14:12

Good morning all!
Happy birthday Fine Lad.

A short glimpse into our flight to California yesterday. We're safely here and very happy to be with DH/daddy.
We have Wi-Fi at the hotel, will check in later.

CMOTdibbler · 04/11/2011 14:32

Thank you, the double injection has made a world of difference to my pain levels, and have started gabapentin for the CRPS pain now, so will see how that goes too.

Happy Birthday to the fine lad !

Am v jealous of you JM - could do with the CA sun right now - it is just about to drop a whole lot of heavy rain on us, just when I was planning to pick ds up on time and take him riding

Jacksmania · 04/11/2011 14:42

CMOT, nothing to be jealous of currently. We're sat at the Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland and its pouring Angry. And we only have two days here Angry. I'm so glad your arm is feeling better ((((HUGS))))

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 16:59

I'm jealous, JM, because you're among my peoples and I'm not. Wink As Mom said on chat earlier... eight more days.

Fingers crossed your arm stays feeling better, CMOT.

Toddler has definitely become, ahem, two. I understand his frustration is more about the inability to communicate in a way that we understand than anything else. Poor kid. He's on the cusp and so wants to talk. He was, however, able to tell me what two of the three things on his dinner plate were (though not sure that the HV will be impressed with his ability to say "heps" (chips) though she may like "beas" (peas)).

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/11/2011 17:03

But we're your (naturalised) people now, too, Scout.

::Stiff upper-lipped hug::

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:08

That's usually MrScout's response, too. Wink

People here either think I'm Irish Hmm (though it tends to be very OAP people) or tell me I've retained my accent very well but people at home always ask me where I'm from (double Hmm).

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:09

Wine this fine evening, Maud?

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:13

MomScout just told me MrScout's annual "toy" catalogue arrived at their house tonight. NNNooooooo! The thing is HUGE and takes up half the baggage allowance.... I wonder if I could hide it....?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/11/2011 17:15

All I mean, Scout, is that you have people on both sides of the pond. I don't mean to minimise your yearning to go home.

Virtual Wine would be lovely. I'm having to snort various drugs for a chest infection ::pathetic cough:: so the virtual is all I can have for the moment.

Cheers! and Thanks!

It's just occurred to me - after Oxeye and I had a riotous time a while back, making smiley hats in the manner of Isabella Blow -

Brew Smile

that there are better possibilities now. This is rather jaunty don't you think?

Thanks Wink
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/11/2011 17:17

First prize in the MN flower-arranging competition goes to me ...

Thanks Thanks
Brew Wine

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:18

Oh, I know Maud. I didn't take it personally.

It's been a rough year, though, and I really want to go home. Mom hugs and comfort food are calling my name.

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:23

Think TS is about to have another spurt. He's got pot-belly going on and has done nothing but eat since his nap. In fact, he just climbed into his chair, reached for the tray/table and asked for (in his way) an oaty bar. This on top of finishing a big dinner half an hour ago. If he's like this now what's he going to be like as a teenager?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/11/2011 17:27

By the time he's a teenager, you're going to have to load it all in with a shovel - especially if he's having to fuel a body as big* as his daddy's!

  • by which I mean tall, not fat!
Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:39

After the oaty bar he's just scoffed a full-sized Muller's yogurt w/fruit corner. Shock

MomScout says BrotherScout STILL non-stop eats (and BrotherScout will be 30 in January).

I'm doomed.

CMOTdibbler · 04/11/2011 17:41

Yup, wheelbarrow loads of food. 3 out of 4 of my nephews are over 6 foot now (6'5 seems to be the tallest) and feeding them is a production line.
DS has just had a growth spurt and is a whole 120cm tall - he is v pleased as it means he can ride on more things at the safari park.

Scout19075 · 04/11/2011 17:43

I worry I'm over-feeding the poor boy but it's not like I'm plying him with chocolate biscuits and bags of crisps. And for his dinner he ate most of the meat and veggies and only two or three bites of the chips (he doesn't normally get chips at home -- they're an "out at the pub for lunch on a Saturday" food for him).

He's playing a puzzle game now -- not well he's happy.
