The moving castle tea room touches down for the 29th time

Welcome to the tea room. Open to those with one child and those with more and maybe some with none ( hi dave the trucker).

This time we are heading to the mists and mellow fruitfulness of Autumn in a moving castle with a mind of its own. The roaring fire is maintained by magic and Mellors the gardener handles wine and spirits along with massage duties.

The first rule of the tea room is this
No fisticuffs.
The second is this
Put the kettle on for Brew and help yourself to a Biscuit

some Biscuits to go with that tea, amber? Glad to see you still here, and very glad that you feel safe(r) again. :)

Scout - I don't see how it is tasteless to wear one of the colours you have suggested unless you know it is the colour the bridesmaid(s) (or even bride!) will be wearing. Nothing wrong with a bit of festive colour at all, especially if it suits you! :)

beanandspud · 01/10/2011 12:03

Scout - nothing wrong with those colours at all, they sound lovely for a winter wedding. Have you thought about trying a personal shopper appointment at Debenhams or John Lewis. I tried it for a wedding as I had no inspiration at all (and don't enjoy clothes shopping much anyway) and came back with a great outfit. She found some things that I would never have considered and there was absolutely no pressure to spend lots of money. And you get to have a cup of coffee and a sit down while they browse for you instead of fighting through changing rooms!!!

amberlight · 01/10/2011 13:27

Blimey, weddings - I have one to go to in about 4 weeks and hadn't even considered what to wear for it...oh heck.

Jacksmania · 01/10/2011 17:16

Morning all (morning here) - I had a wonderful blissful lie-in and just got up less than half an hour ago... mmmm bliss. Thank you, DH Thanks.

Amber, I'm so glad things have been explained. Please don't ever leave us, we love you.

Scout, green or cranberry are lovely colours. I'm
Almost finished with the handmade thing for Maud, then I can start on yours - I could make you a necklace in tones of green or whatever shade you like to go with your dress. I can definitely get it done in time for Thanksgiving and send it to you. I'd love a fun project

Jacksmania · 01/10/2011 17:18

Oops, hit post too soon. I meant, I'd love another fun project like that.

By the way, happy six year anniversary to you and Mr. Scout! DH and I are coming up on six, too!

We have NOTHING planned today. Laundry all done, house tidy. What a blissful prospect, an entirely lazy day!

ChablisLover · 01/10/2011 18:54

So looking forward to some Chablis - disguised as Pinot grigio and the x factor.

Watching ds play kinectanimals.
He loves that tiger.

Lovely day went to Lakeland and bought some lovely pudsey bun cases for baking

Out for lunch with in laws tomorrow as it was ours and theirs wedding anniversary during the week. Same day and they are treating us. It was also dh birthday on same day and sil anniversary the day before. Other sil Hates september!

ChablisLover · 01/10/2011 18:56

Forgot to say finally got my curtain pole up - it only took 8 weeks!

Then discovered that ikea expect me to hem curtains with wundaweb! This could be fun. Wish me luck. knowing me the hem will be well uneven!!

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 19:49

Hot day here outside of YOUT.

Another Christmas present bought.

Ooooh, JM, that sounds lovely! I know what I'm making for you but it's a Christmasy foodie thing so I'm going to make it when I'm in the States and ship it from there so it's fresh for you. It's something British as well. Wink

Budge up, Chablis. I love a good cheesy reality singing competition. Have you been watching The X Factor USA, too?

ChablisLover · 01/10/2011 19:53

Scout u made me jealous. We had 14 degrees and rain!!

Have been watching USA version. Agree with critics I think Cheryl was more interesting than Nicole pussycat. Love the sob stories in us version too.

Was trying to catch strictly earlier on. Have a wee crush on Harry mcfly!

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 19:57

While I used to much hotter weather where I'm from after six years in England today felt hot/uncomfortable.

I wonder if it's the way they edited Nicole because I liked her on the UK X Factor last year (when she was a sub judge). We were out having dinner, and hadn't set the recorder, so we missed Strictly.

ChablisLover · 01/10/2011 20:01

Scout - great version. Love that song. Will have to annoy dh with it later.

Have annoyed him with "the lonely island - jack sparrow featuring Michael Bolton". Is on you tube but can't figure out how to link from phone. They are comedians from snl and Michael Bolton really takes the pee. Even dh conceded it wad funny.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/10/2011 20:04

I have played that song a lot since you first posted it, Scout.

I have never watched any version of the X Factor but loved Strictly tonight. Jason Donovan was astonishing.

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 20:08

Ohhhh, when SNL is good it's really good but when it's bad it's horrid. Will have to go on a hunt for it.

I do love a good BNL song. They all make me happy.

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 20:14

Funniest line ever: We're not just an Essex gimmic. HAAHAHAHAHAHAH.

beanandspud · 01/10/2011 20:16

Hands off Jason, Maud - he's mine Grin I feel as we have grown up together!

It's been 28 degrees here and we are thoroughly enjoying the sunshine. Got loads of tidying up done in the garden and had what I think is our first ever October barbecue.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Scout!

Is there room on the tearoom sofa for me and a glass of Wine - I'll share my salted cashews nicely?!

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 20:18

Yes, I am easily bought by the offer of cashews.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/10/2011 20:26

Bean - You are very welcome to Jason. I was merely admiring his dancing skills - we are officially a Strictly household and I can't I remember a male celebrity demonstrating such, erm, Mobility and Attitude in episode 1.

::I do love a man who can dance emoticon::

. Can't think why I have it on speed-dial - did Scout post it before?
Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 20:45

Nope, not me Maud. I've never heard of it.

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 20:52

HAHAHAHAHHHAAA. The one guy just sang "When I hear your face" HAHHAHAHAHAHHHA.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/10/2011 21:21

Well, then, I have no idea how I found it. Michael Bolton isn't ::cough:: quite my cup of tea normally.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/10/2011 21:23

I discovered this one when it was .

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 21:54

My YT isn't working nicely at the moment so will check it out in the morning.

I'd like to know who turned off the air conditioner and turned the heater on full blast. I am very warm....

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/10/2011 22:08

This is one of those rare days when I can see the point of air-conditioning in the home.

Scout19075 · 01/10/2011 22:09

If you lived where I did growing up you'd have seen the point a long time ago. Wink I can't believe that I used to work outside in 105 degree heat with 98% humidity for days on end without rain. WHAT was I thinking?!?!
