The moving castle tea room touches down for the 29th time

Welcome to the tea room. Open to those with one child and those with more and maybe some with none ( hi dave the trucker).

This time we are heading to the mists and mellow fruitfulness of Autumn in a moving castle with a mind of its own. The roaring fire is maintained by magic and Mellors the gardener handles wine and spirits along with massage duties.

The first rule of the tea room is this
No fisticuffs.
The second is this
Put the kettle on for Brew and help yourself to a Biscuit

UniS · 29/09/2011 20:04

Can I join in? Will bring leftover dh birthday cake. Am trying to be good and have resisted a slice so far. I have 1 ds who is 4 1/2. Just started year one and loving it. In a catholic school - dh is catholic I am not and I have to take him to school mass tomorrow. Can I sit at the back and hid as I have no idea what to do?

Stickwithit · 29/09/2011 20:24

Ooh yes please to Wine.

Super news MC, what a relief for you that the teacher has read the situation so well.

Have a friend arriving early tomorrow and staying for the weekend. Can't quite motivate myself to complete my house and garden spruce up, sofa is comfy and Wine so lovely. Ah well he may just have to take us as he finds us, he probably knows me too well to believe I have achieved domestic goddess status anyway!

amberlight · 29/09/2011 20:29

Hi ChablisLover - welcome! Have a Wine. Mass tomorrow eh? Yup, sitting at the back sounds like a plan to me! As long as you don't leap about or insult the priest, nothing much can go wrong Wink
Oh yes, and don't try going up for communion bread etc when the others do. other than that, just copy the others. I do Blush

CMOTdibbler · 29/09/2011 20:41

I think hiding at the back and making it up is always a good plan Grin

I should be packing but at least the next weeks clothes are sitting on the spare bed ready to throw at the suitcase. Upside of this trip - hotel is lovely. Downside - hotel is a half hour bus ride to the convention centre. Which is a total drag, and means long waits for the bus too

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/09/2011 20:53

Hello ChablisLover. Something about your name tells me that you will very soon pick up the speakeasy tea room vibe.

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 20:56

Hello Chablis.

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 20:59

Oh dear, just told MrScout he got the wrong present....

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 21:00

Oh, and yes, Chablis, stand in the back and copy everyone else. And don't go up for Communion. (This coming from a Catholic.)

UniS · 29/09/2011 21:06

Why? Does a catholic fairy die if a non catholic goes up for communion? or is there some mythic thing in the wafer that spots non catholics and makes their heads pop off on contact??

Just curious in a non conformist kinda way.

Ski Holiday is booked ! how organised am I, I never used to book holidays months in advance. Thought we best had as we wanted childcare etc this time.

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 21:16

Grin at UniS. No, no Catholic fairies will be harmed. Has to do with Catholic teachings and beliefs about who is invited to the table, etc.. I have an Episcopalian friend who used to go to church with me whenshe couldn't make her own and would receive Communion and it would push me me over the edge.

Yay for Ski Holiday!

ChablisLover · 29/09/2011 22:02

Thanks for the lovely welcome.

Have done the communion thing once before but I was 4. No catholic fairies were harmed.

Just had to wake ds up as the slats on his bed collapsed. Mr Chablis says I am bad mother to do this whereas I say don't want son to sleep in collapsed bed! Ds now soundly back to sleep in fixed bed. Mr Chablis is away in a huff. So at least it us quiet in my house now.

Can go and enjoy some Chablis in peace. Well i wish it were Chablis - is whatever is in fridge and on special offer this week.

Still figuring out emoticons.

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 22:03

How old is SmallChablis?

ChablisLover · 29/09/2011 22:03

UniS-v organised re ski holiday. Am well jealous. We are kings and queens of staycations.

ChablisLover · 29/09/2011 22:04

Small Chablis is 4.6 months. A big boy really or so he tells me.

UniS · 29/09/2011 22:04

So are we normally since boy was born. We do live in Devon, so why go anywhere else ?

OP posts:
UniS · 29/09/2011 22:05

Hello Chablis!

I'm Bean, I have a Small Bean who is 3.5 but who thinks he is now old enough to go to work and drive a Vauxhall (as he announced today).

Good news about skiing holiday Unis - hopefully next year for us.

Scout - hope Mr Scout took the news... ahem... 'positively'?!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/09/2011 22:18

Emoticons are fun, Chablis. Especially the pretty ones. We make tea room bunting out of them.

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 22:40

Has anyone else been watching Educating Essex?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/09/2011 22:42

I'm watching it now!

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 22:44

Are schools really like that over here? Or did they deliberately pick a rough-ish one?

beanandspud · 29/09/2011 22:46

I have recorded it. Am in bed just now trying to catch up on Outnumbered Blush.

Is it worth seeing?

Scout19075 · 29/09/2011 22:47

Well, it's a bit of an eye-opener to me! Then again, in some ways, I'm not surprised given all of my work with Guides, Seniors, etc.
