The moving castle tea room touches down for the 29th time

Welcome to the tea room. Open to those with one child and those with more and maybe some with none ( hi dave the trucker).

This time we are heading to the mists and mellow fruitfulness of Autumn in a moving castle with a mind of its own. The roaring fire is maintained by magic and Mellors the gardener handles wine and spirits along with massage duties.

The first rule of the tea room is this
No fisticuffs.
The second is this
Put the kettle on for Brew and help yourself to a Biscuit

Still meant to be working at report Angry

Will be doing all evening too. Started at 6am. But the good thing is that it will all be finished and submitted tomorrow!!!

This is nice!
I need a cozy refuge from the world atm. Just made redundant, just as the cosmic balance of shittyness in my life was coming back. So many only children - it makes me feel like less of a freak to have just the one!

UniS · 25/09/2011 19:05

hello wahwah. nice to see you . would you like a cocktail and some twiglet surprise to make your evening go with a crunch?

The crafty stuff that boy and I do we could not do if there were a younger sib around. Needs too much input from me still. I enjoy it tho. Nothing I'd make a living from selling I'm not that tidy, but I do like making stuff for us to use.

Hello, wahwahwah. Would some Wine go some way towards restoring your cosmic balance?

UniS · 25/09/2011 19:19

Are teh cosmic balancer Wine what a cocktail that is.

I'm off to realign my cosmos at the pub tonight. Its RL tea room time as the team is made up of mums of one.

DH is suffering today after yesterdays ride... I'm not surprised. He's teh one who decided to do 15 miles on a cycle he hadn't ridden in 5 years with no training at all.

Ahhh, Wine, how I've missed thee. Grin

Hello, wahwahwah.

Test batch of granola will finish cooking in just over an hour if anyone would like to taste it for me?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 19:29

Yes, UniS, it's as potent as a pangalactic gargleblaster.

Does your DH need one of Mellors' legendary massages?

Scout19075 · 25/09/2011 20:16

(Damn, I did it again and barely put anything on my plate.)

LittleDeerandMe · 25/09/2011 20:27

Hi wahwahwah.

UniS - very impressive as usual!

Scout - a breakfast basket sounds amazing.

Serpent - Eek re interesting times, hope all is ok.

Hopefully it will be ok but I can always stop if it is not working out. I would be worried about taking a child on for longer because of the impact on LittleDeers life, and felt that having kids around from time to time just for a short while would be better. I would be particularly worried about the idea of having a foster child for a long time and then he or she leaving, it would be too hard on LittleDeer. I also love our Only situation and so think it would be a bit silly of me to take on a child long term, although I do think it would be an amazing thing to do for someone.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 20:30

I have sometimes thought about doing respite and short term care, LDAM, so will be following your experience with great interest.

LittleDeerandMe · 25/09/2011 20:32

Had a lovely day today, again in that nice quiet way you only can with an only probably. We just watched nature documentaries, then played wildebeest crossing the mara river Grin, then after dinner had a lovely bubble bath together, then read stories and snuggled. Also I had a headache earlier in the day and so went back to bed for an hour, LittleDeer just lay in bed next to me quietly looking through his books. Fantastic!

Btw,where is Mary lately? And Tea hasn't been here for ages,I wonder if she'll come back!

LittleDeerandMe · 25/09/2011 20:35

I'm very nervous about it Maud but will do the training anyway and give it a go. I can always change my mind later if it doesn't suit us all. I just always think it's a great thing to do for a child, particularly long term care of course. Anyway, the process takes nearly a year here!

Scout19075 · 25/09/2011 21:35

Brew anyone?

beanandspud · 25/09/2011 22:11

Hi Scout! How is the granola? I am waiting to taste-test...

Hello wahwahwah. Can I interest you in Brew or Wine?

LDAM - that sounds like a fantastic day. I feel the same about having an only - it makes it much easier to do certain things. I hope the fostering plan works out. I have a lot of admiration for anyone that offers short-term/respite care as I know that I couldn't do it.

mistlethrush · 25/09/2011 22:44

I just need to scream!!!!!!

Doing my report STILL and have just overwritten a section. And, of course, its a section that I originally made up rather than being an existing piece of work that I've just had to reformat (I'm on a bit of the report which is effectively collating 11 reports, only 3 of which I've written (theoretically) into one chapter. But I have found I had to make up one of them from another piece of work someone's done - and of course its that one that I've accidentally overwritten. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Sad
beanandspud · 25/09/2011 22:52

MT - AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH......that is officially now a 16 hour report. Send it over - I know nothing about what you do but I can 'ad-lib' if necessary... Grin

mistlethrush · 25/09/2011 22:54

Please can you write me an 'energy' sectino for my ES then Bean?

I just had to have a bit of a break.

Got a good 4 hrs work still I think. Better go and start it.

beanandspud · 25/09/2011 23:06

Good luck MT. Hope you get finished. Hmmmm, I'll have a go at the energy bit - might not be quite what you need.

::worried emoticon::

mistlethrush · 26/09/2011 01:35

Energy bit rewritten, only got two more sections to edit in then the non technical summary.

Confused
Scout19075 · 26/09/2011 09:29

What is it with Toddler's shoes -- they seem to disappear! This time, though, I blame MrScout. We took the shoes off to change TS's bum yesterday and he put them to the side and now I only have one. Where's the shoe?!

Brew anyone?

MT, I hope you got some sleep!

Scout19075 · 26/09/2011 10:53

Well, lack of shoes meant no Tot Time this morning (wet ground outside or I'd have put TS in his slippers to go). Will tear the room upside down when he's napping (shoes would be in my room) so we can go to Beans this afternoon instead. He really needs shoes for that as it's indoor/outdoor. On a positive he made four candy cane reindeer this morning -- only eight more to go!

mistlethrush · 26/09/2011 11:37

I caught an hour on the sofa.

Feeling rather woozy now.

LittleDeerandMe · 26/09/2011 11:42

You only had one hours sleep all night MT?!

Scout19075 · 26/09/2011 11:42

Any chance of rest today, MT?
