Turkish Tearoom? Turkish Bath? Anyway, a Turkish delight awaits...

Picture the scene...

From the edge of every terrace and every step hang brilliantly white stalactites, and you can hear the joyful splashing of the waters of the hot springs as they cascade down over slopes where their flow is impeded only by clumps of oleanders.

Nearby is an oasis of refreshments, in our Pamukkale residence, air conditioned and with white washed generously proportioned rooms, with Mellors at the ready, to offer Turkish Massage to anyone who wishes.

The NMBs are in their element, whereas the bishops seem to have found their speedoes again.

Priest's hole is at the back, in a quiet shaded area, stocked with What Car magazines, Turkish rugs and Turkish delight

Oxeye - glad you're enjoying your hols. Reading in bed until 10:30 sounds blissful. No village fairs here either sadly.

Unfortunately Mr Bean is at home sick - so I'm trying very hard to be sympathetic and failing miserably ::heartless DW emoticon::

Apple tea anyone?

infact · 28/07/2011 00:33

Hahahahaha!!! Fabulous!!!! (Thanks)

Busy day tomorrow so -

Muchus goodus nightus ladies of the wonderful tearoom...

oxeye · 28/07/2011 00:54

oh well, if he's ill Bean, then that's just maddening...

busy day tomorrow too - well lounging & stuff
so bye bye and sleep tight

::tucks up the hammock swingers, removes empty cocktail and wine glasses and tiptoes out::

Tee2072 · 28/07/2011 06:53

Morning ladies.

LCT up at 5. Brew?

Infact don't think we've met. I've relatively new. I'm 42 and LowerCaseTee (or LCT) is 2 and a bit. Nice ta meetcha! Oh and I'm American. Grin

As I do not live in a village I've never been to a village fair. Sounds lovely! Wonder if I could get Belfast City Council to do one.... I could enter the '1001 ways to use cheese' category! Grin

More Brew?

AandO · 28/07/2011 09:55

Morning!

Infact - I presume you are the one that was always in the tearoom but has lately been missing? Am I right?

We had our village show about a month ago now. It was great, we went to the best baby competition, the dog show, best cow, etc. So funny to see old men brushing their cows Grin. I love the best jam competition.

beanandspud · 28/07/2011 14:55

Brew Yes please!

Hurrah! I now have Small Bean home as well after being sent home from nursery with hand, foot and mouth. Fortunately he doesn't seem to be too ill with it (touch wood) but I am sort of prepared for that to change. So, Small Bean climbing the walls at home along with Mr Bean who is recovering from minor op and can't drive/walk very far/carry anything.

Is it too early for Wine?

amberlight · 28/07/2011 19:21

It is never too early for Wine

Good evening all. I can report that no packing has been accomplished as yet, but I did manage to get lost whilst trying to navigate between villages this afternoon. Not in search of a fete, though - more in search of churches that needed auditing for access. Great fun.

beanandspud · 28/07/2011 19:24

Amber - having a bosom (ample or otherwise) that is no longer bright blue sounds like a very, very good reason for Wine!

Are you feeling any better?

Tee2072 · 28/07/2011 20:31

That must have been, um, pretty, Amber! Wink

Bean I hope Small Bean feels better soon!

GrnTee and I did a deep clean of my kitchen today. Very satisfying. Hated to cook dinner!

Did someone say Wine?

UniS · 28/07/2011 23:22

Today's creativity was quick n dirty dressmaking, introducing a 5 yr old to making and using a pattern , putting pins in and out and using sewing machine! under tight supervision I hasten to add. We made him a pair of shorts ( off cut of curtain material- VERY loud pattern) and a head band to decorate ( arm of an old T-shirt hemmed with Boys choice of fancy stitch ( clever sewing machine), he worked the pedal, I kept the work fairly straight.

Have part packed for weekend, DH is being grumpy and decided he won't take his bike, so I guess we shall leave him on camp-site while boy and I explore. Must remember to pack him a sneaky beer or two. He does like to be martyr over doing all teh driving. I offer but he does not like being a passenger.

infact · 29/07/2011 09:32

I know you tee! I'll pm you twarling and you amb! Sorry to confuse... I really needed to name change due to the mn mafia in the city of café starting to favour the school I work for...

beanandspud - Are your family feeling better today? x

Tee2072 · 29/07/2011 10:02

Oh okay Infact. I never name change so it doesn't occur to me others do. Grin

Off to Farmer's Market this morning and then a house viewing today. Fingers crossed it suits!!

infact · 29/07/2011 10:04

WOW - HOW exciting!!!! I hope it is your dream home!!!

beanandspud · 29/07/2011 10:31

Morning!

Everyone feeling better today thank you. Small Bean seems fine although I have kept him at home so officially our weekend has now started! Thank goodness I have an extremely understanding boss.

Good luck with the house viewing Tee - fingers crossed. (And don't forget to buy lots of cheese at the Farmers' Market - it's the rules you know Smile)

GothAnneGeddes · 29/07/2011 11:48

Hello Tea room dwellers and Mellors.

I have a little question. Is the tea room only for people who are definitely having one child, or can people who have one child and may or may not be able to have another one join in?

I won't be offended if it's the former, just being curious.

mistlethrush · 29/07/2011 12:46

Hello Goth (or do you prefer Anne or GAG or what?)

The tearoom is for people who are not going to start a bun fight.

The number of children who belong to tearoomers doesn't actually matter as much - some of us only want one, some of us can only have one, and some of us have got more than one. Some people are trying to achieve more than one. One of us can hardly call their's a child anymore, but that doesn't matter.

Pull up a cushion (or a seat) and have some soup and a lewd roll if you'd like.

The tearoom's been going quite a long time now - so we've got some things that get packed up from the old tearooms and moved to the new (please excuse the Bishops, they appear to have their speedos on again, its not a good look) but if you either read back or ignore stuff until you see where it fits in, you'll get the hang of things.

infact - have placed you now. Hope all's OK. Is it too late for lunch or would you like a Brew instead?

Tee2072 · 29/07/2011 12:52

Darn it. House I was going to see no longer available. Onward and upward, as they say!

Welcome Goth! Nice tameetcha!

stickwithit · 29/07/2011 13:09

Hi all!! I've tiptoed in to ask if I could join you lovely ladies in the tearoom?

I am mum to a delightful DS, 4yo and have a lovely DP.

I have periods of feeling sad about having a one-child family but I think I need to try to move past these rubbish feelings and try to embrace what i have got.

I love the upbeat feel of this thread and I hope that spending some time in this fabulous turkish tearoom might help me to feel a bit more 'normal' about our only status!!

mistlethrush · 29/07/2011 14:03

Brew stickwithit? and a piece of stick ginger cake to go with it?

My ds is 6.5yo, so you'll get plenty of stories of what to expect. He is a great supplier of lewd rolls for the tearoom though - he likes making rockets (which always have boosters of course) out of the bread dough before its cooked Grin

I have [evilly] packed him off to sports course for 4 wks this summer, but not feeling too bad as he really enjoys it and always complains when I arrive to pick him up (too early)

stickwithit · 29/07/2011 14:43

Thank you for the Brew Mistlethrush and the delicious stick ginger cake.

Your DS's lewd rolls sound very funny! Sports camp sounds great. Do you get a chance to relax while he is there? DS starts school in September so the world of holiday clubs will open up to me soon.

mistlethrush · 29/07/2011 15:05

No, I'm at work and MNing for the odd 2 mins here and there Grin

purpleknittingmum · 29/07/2011 19:17

Evening all! YAY! Off work now for 2 whole weeks!! Plan on getting lots of knitting and crocheting done! :o

CMOTdibbler · 29/07/2011 20:12

Hello all ! I've been camping (don't tell the camping thread ladies, but twas a Haven site and v nice) for a few days and ds was in heaven. I went to bed early every night and feel more human now. We had a totally unstructured few days which we have never managed to do before, so although I got nothing done that I had said about, it was good

DS will be at holiday club for 5 weeks this summer and also complains if picked up too early

Anyone for a nice glass of wine ?

beanandspud · 29/07/2011 20:58

Welcome back CMOT, sounds like you had great time, an unstructured few days sounds fab.

Yes, I will the first to join you with a Friday Wine!

Hello Goth and Stickwithit, nice to see you here. I have a DS (Small Bean) who is 3 and is an only. Pull up a chair - things here begin to make sense eventually and we are a very friendly corner of mn.

stickwithit · 29/07/2011 21:22

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I would love a Wine, thank you, it is Friday after all. Fingers crossed for a sunny weekend for all in the tea room.
