Tearoom 25 - Benvenute a Venezia!

thumbwitch · 08/04/2011 00:28

YOu find us this time in a glorious palazzo in Venice, near to St. Mark's square, and on the water. With gondolas and vaporetti in abundance to transport us around to the various sights etc.

The palazzo itself of course has marble floors and fabulous murano chandeliers but aside of that we have the usual distressed chintz comfy sofas, assorted animals, bishops in their corner, priesthole for emergencies and a single solitary aspidistra in a bomb-proof glass cage to protect it from the ravages of a certain Canadian.

All are welcome - drop by for a cuppa, a glass of something stronger and a chat and relax in the safe and kind surroundings here.

Cin cin! Wine

Let's throw a party for Serpent! There's Wine Wine Wine Bolly and Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit a croque-en-bouche made out of jammy dodgers. What are you bringing?

CMOTdibbler · 19/04/2011 19:43

Party rings a la mode (ie, threaded onto the bunting) and a twiglet hedgehog

Scout19075 · 19/04/2011 19:43

Cracks open the bubbly and passes it around in celebration of UnSerp's birthday!

My people are stupid.

UniS · 19/04/2011 22:48

stolen stollen - LOL.

Serp, here is a cake, you may eat it. It does not contain a phial.

Boy has some uses. he can paint walls so long as he is well supervised and the entire surroundings have been thoroughly dust sheeted. ( and you don;t mind a somewhat patch work look as he only wants to paint the dirty bits) That was today's helpful activity. We now have a much fresher cleaner looking conservatory. He can also do up his own bike helmet, and make sure his friend is wearing said helmet when boy shares his bike with said friend. That was rather nice to see at the rec this afternoon.

Dentist tomorrow. 2.30 appointment.

thumbbunny · 20/04/2011 01:37

Happy Birthday Serpent! Even though it was yesterday. :) at stolen stollen joke, very good!

Do you think we scared off whoever it was who mentioned chess on toast? Am :( that she thinks we might have been taking the piss instead of a lighthearted play on words.

Tea - Shock at nearly losing toddler at farm - it happens so quickly, doesn't it!!
I was at a play park on Monday morning with miniT, chatting to another expat UK MNer, whose DS is around 2. Anyway, the two of them went trotting over to the other side of the playground, and I suddenly noticed that the gate wasn't closed - it was about 9" open. I was just getting ready to sprint over there, when they reached it and the other little boy pushed it shut. He might not have meant to, but that's what he managed - phew!! And curses on the dozy mare who had just come in through the gate and left the damn thing open.

MiniT is useful for picking up toys and putting them away. He is helpful at emptying the dishwasher under strict supervision; likes to beat eggs and is good at it so long as you can stand the constant refrain of "is that better?" every 15 seconds or so. He helps with the washing - hands me pegs if outside, or the clothes to go on the airer if inside. He does also have his downside - see the thread on 3yos if you want the latest.[argh! emoticon]

Scout19075 · 20/04/2011 07:33

Good morning!

purpleknittingmum · 20/04/2011 08:11

Morning all!

Hope you had a good birthday Serpent!

My daughter is not up yet, will have to tell her about Elizabeth Sladen dying, she loves Doctor Who and also watches Sarah Jane Adventures

Coule be fun here today, a bit of road is getting re tarmaced. They started work just after 7am (daughter is sleeping through this!) not too noisy just now.

So far managed to do 2 squares with my new ball off wool for the second blanket on here, never knitted so fast in my life!!

amberlight · 20/04/2011 09:34

Dear son has been out all night after a rugby club night-in-town, without his phone, and we have zero idea where he is Confused

Might I have a Brew please?

thumbbunny · 20/04/2011 10:34
