Arrrrgh! Another mother at dd's nursery!

Her ds really stands out. She dresses him in the most outrageously OTT outfits to go to nursery, he has more shoes than I do all from Spain/Italy etc. Today he was wearing a silk romper top and it was already dirty by the time my DD got to nursery. everyone is always complimenting the mum and she loves it and is always playing it down, you can tell she is thrilled.

When I asked her how much she spent on her son's (she doesn't wear flashy clothes herself) wardrobe she told me that her two closest friends worked in the childrenwear business and most of his clothes were samples, she didn't agree in keeping stuff for best and didn't care if things got ripped or stained as long as her boy was happy

Argh she was so so smug, I can't stand people like that!

I guess this thing's kicked off then?

Do you have children notelling?

RachD · 01/09/2005 14:22

WWb - I missed that - the other mum is not a mumsnetter is she ?

hunkermunker · 01/09/2005 14:23

NT, your first post demonstrated very neatly that you are rude. Fancy asking someone how much she'd spent on her child's clothes?! FFS!

"she didn't agree in keeping stuff for best and didn't care if things got ripped or stained as long as her boy was happy"

And you were shocked at that. Which bit?!

She thinks this woman posts on MN, and posted because she thought it "wouldn't do her any harm to find out what other people think of her".

SherlockLGJ · 01/09/2005 14:24

"I have changed my name because I think that smug mum posts on here, at least I'm pretty sure of it. Wouldn't do her any hard to know that's what is thought of her. "

Allegedly

dropinthe · 01/09/2005 14:24

What SHE thinks of her rather!

RachD · 01/09/2005 14:24

No, sorry I saw it.
Notelling - who are you ?
You WANT her to know how you feel and that you think she's smug, right ?

This is a wind up , yes ?

RachD · 01/09/2005 14:25

sorry, soory,
dooooooooh !!!
Tumbleweed ?

frannyf · 01/09/2005 14:25

How long before someone comes on claiming to be the other Mum, do you reckon?

WigWamBam · 01/09/2005 14:25

I think there must be more to this than what this woman's son is wearing.

Now, tell us what this is really all about, dear.

oliveoil · 01/09/2005 14:26

you said you were a threadkiller on another thread so I thought I would give you a tumbleweed.

x

snafu · 01/09/2005 14:26

Why did you bother changing your name then, NT? If she posts on here and you want her to know what you think?

I have my handbag ready, btw

hunkermunker · 01/09/2005 14:26

Should I throw a football at a cat?

SherlockLGJ · 01/09/2005 14:27

FrannyF

How jaded and cynical of you.

RachD · 01/09/2005 14:28

ooooh frannyf, can't wait !

Come out, come out wherecer you are - in your silk negligee !!!

notelling · 01/09/2005 14:28

Funny WigWam. The comment about the no harm was sarcastic but forgot the emoticon.

I was worried that smugmum maybe a member of mumsnet, you never know.

I was only rude to Snafu because she was nasty to me with her comment..

Sorry Sherlock! Someone showed me the cat / football thread the other day and I thought this had potential!

RachD · 01/09/2005 14:29

thank you oliveoil - but what is a tumbleweed ?

snafu · 01/09/2005 14:30

[rolls eyes]

SherlockLGJ · 01/09/2005 14:31

Aw

The Cat and the Football thread, my DH fell in love with QueenEagle on that thread, she was so funny.

Now whenever it kicks off on here, he asks if QE is taking part.

negligeewearer · 01/09/2005 14:32

Oh MY GOSH!

Were you the miserable looking mum with the kid with wonky eyes wearing Primark????

SherlockLGJ · 01/09/2005 14:33

ROFL

chloe55 · 01/09/2005 14:34
