Need to get organised as have tea to make later. Will need to clean up the kitchen. Making meatballs in sauce on baguettes. They are those cook at home baguettes and I might cut them open and put garlic butter on them before the oven, hmmm.

I am done! Doors and frames done with 2nd undercoat. Skirting boards can whistle! Tea made, eaten and dishes washed. Don't care what time it is i am having a coffee and painkillers 😁
Place still looks a mess but I dont care. No point in putting everything back just to pull it out tomorrow.
I must ge mad! Wish I could just pay someone to do it all from start to finish. 😄😄

Been hot here, much cooler today apparently before the onslaught of up to 35 this week. And I have a birthday cake to bake and ice, a prize giving in a stuffy school hall to attend and a birthday outing with a bunch of teens to survive through!

Rained at some point overnight but its actually sunny now! It was hot last night I had the window and back door open till I went to bed! Didn't sleep for ages😡
Am slathered in brufen gel, am aching all over. Will wait a while before I start the stupid diy. 😁
Weather is midling here until Tuesday. Highs of 19 but rain at times😡 Tuesday supposed to be 24.

Well, life just moving on , but a hectic week just passed . DH has had a few hospital appointments , lots of extra bits of help for both DD's needed and a car in the garage for a couple of days has made for rushing everywhere ( the hospital car park is a nightmare - we queued for 25 mins on Wednesday to get in , luckily we had set off early ! ) . We had a loan/service car so were able to get around at least , but its a tiny zippy thing that I had to concertina myself to get in ! Gladly , our car is back
I am getting going with the backlog of sewing , now my craft room is useable ( I still have a large box of DD1's christmas decorations , and a rocking elephant of DGS' that got put away in the loft and are having problems parting ... 😀)
It has been much too hot for me , but everything is thriving in the garden and greenhouse . Hope your tomatoes and cucumbers get going BookofCarol . I have started picking raspberries and strawberries , and may have a cucumber in a couple of days !

Crikey that's a lot on your plate in the last week @bookbook hope you get some chill time soon. I have put my toms and cucumber outside, see if it perks them up. All the seedlings I separated out seem to be surviving so fingers crossed. Oooh I love rasps wish I had a rasps cane.
My finger seems to be recovering thanks, all the skin peeled off so a bit tender but fingers crossed.
Yes I am completely mad for starting this diy but it will be an imorovement eventually. 😄
Have re pasted more wall paper this morning, its ridiculous. Will have to wait for it to dry above skirting before I can sand them so will paint the doors first.

Put washing on, my machine keeps stopping and I have to push the damm button to get it going again driving me mad. I dont want it sitting in water for ages at each wash, even if I put that off it still stops.

DIY does sound a bit mad but in a good way 😁. It’ll be an improvement in the end, even if it’s doing your head in right now 😊. The washing machine would drive me mad as well 😤 nothing worse than having to keep going back to press the buttone 🙄

Just returning from Bristol , had a quick look around the new M&S ,Primark and a huge Home bargains and dropped Dd2 off at the airport safe and sound . Bought nothing for myself but Dds bought shorts, books and a skirt 😁.
DH wants to be back home for 3, he wants to watch the rugby , Exeter Chiefs v someone else 🙄🤣.

Funny you should say about a Chinese tonight , DH has changed his mind about an Indian tonight because their hygiene ratings aren't very good . Only a 3 , whereas the Chinese takeaway we use is a 5 rating and spotless . So l think it's a Chinese instead tonight 🤣

I am done (well for today) door done, skirting boards done i am knackered. I realised when I went to wash my brushes I hadn't swapped for undercoat to do skirting boards! What a tube! So I was covered in paint , brushes were a thick mess. They got binned and I had to get the turps out to scrub myself and sink! So stupid but hey ho. Need new brushes anyway.
Coffee time again. All that getting down to skirting boards, bum shuffling along in tight space and getting up again is not good on the old joints😄
Of course I nipped to loo and thought the top landing wall top needs freshening up and the bit round bathroom door handle...help.
Definatrly getting Chinese tonight.
Have asked Ds2 what he wants, hopefully ge gets time to reply.

Have given up trying to sleep abd got up for a cuppa.
Been listening to my history guy to keep.je company but even he couldn't work his magic and lull me to sleep.
Was playing Skyrim before bed and my eyes kept lifting towards my china cabinet/unit and tv cupboard. I am gonna bite the bullet and empty and move them to clean behind them and do skirting boards. 😱 Help!
I was gonna leave it for another time but might as well do it all now. But the bookcases, hmm they can stay!

But l do admire your determination to get the painting done @Thebookofcarolagain 👏. Once you start looking at skirting boards and what's lurking behind furniture, there's no unseeing it though ! 😱 I always think the hardest part is talking yourself into starting but once you start you have to keep going till it's finished of course . Emptying the china cabinet sounds like a job and a half, but you'll feel so pleased with yourself once it's done. I don't envy you though l am sorry to say . The bookcases staying put sounds like a very sensible compromise if you ask me! 🤣
