I can't be the only one who loves this band more than life itself (well almost).
I only just discovered them a month ago. I can't believe I missed so much.

OP posts:

I missed it too LPP but I'm in London and all the travelling put me off. Plus I'm seeing them at the O2 in November anyway.

Thequeensfool · 23/09/2009 22:20

Oookay, I am a teensy bit annoyed right now!
My friend has just told me that they are releasing more tickets for Birmingham (don't know about other venues), and that he can get pre-orders.

I feel rather sick at the thought of what I've paid; I won't mind as much as long as I actually receive a genuine ticket...

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2009 00:03

It's a bit cheeky isn't it. I can probably get pre-orders for O2. I've already paid double face value
Oh well, the main thing is we get to see them.
I'm also a bit annoyed that mainland Europe gets Biffy Clyro as support and we get The Big Pink, who are ok but I'd rather see Biffy Clyro.

Littlepurpleprincess · 24/09/2009 10:48

I missed them because they sold out so quick! People were buying them and selling them on at a higher price. There was a limit on who could purchase them, you had to be within the right postcodes. The show was supposed to be for local people. I get a little annoyed at the people who would travel tbh Lyra, we don't have a music venue round here so if you can't travel, this was a rare opportunity to see a lIVE band, I was starting to think were just a myth....Nevermind though, DP is taking me to Alice Cooper in december

Squishabelle · 24/09/2009 13:33

Princess you are wrong that this was just for local people. Arrangements were made to sell (from a reputable ticketing agency) ticket/coach packages from most major cities If it was just for local people then why were these packages on sale if not for 'outsiders'? This is how I got my ticket.

Incidentally these packages were still available almost up to the show.

Why on earth would you get annoyed at people who would travel? I love Muse and travelled miles.

Sour grapes?!!!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2009 13:48

I often can't get tickets for London venues because non-Londoners have bought them.

Squishabelle · 24/09/2009 14:06

Most bands only play larger cities these days so most people do have to travel - there is no alternative.

Thequeensfool · 24/09/2009 15:41

Ticket touts are the reason people can't get tickets, not the proximity of fans IMO.

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2009 18:53

Presumably LPP is travelling to see Alice Cooper in December...

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2009 18:55

How do you get these presale tickets?

Thequeensfool · 24/09/2009 19:43

I think you have to be a member of a registered fansite (not sure for how long etc), and I guess you are given access to the pre-sale.

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2009 20:43

Dang. I went on the Muse site and the presale tickets are all gone.

Littlepurpleprincess · 25/09/2009 08:21

That's not what I meant.....erm, the shows in Teignmouth were advertised (in my local paper anyway) as being aimed at the community within Teignmouth, and it said your had to live in the right postcode. It's the people who buy tickets and sell them to those who live in big cities where muse play every year that annoys me. IYSWIM.

For example, if you live near Wembly, or the NEC why buy tickets for Teignmouth? Why not wait for them to come to you?

I wasn't having a pop at the fans I just think that the way bands tour in the UK is pretty crap TBH. Especially a lot of American bands that I like. They seem to think the UK is the size of a postage stamp, and that if they play one show in london the whole country can walk there in ten minutes!

It is the Ticket Touts who are the problem but it wouldn't be so if the fans refused to buy from them....

And yes I'm traveling to see Alice. To Exeter. OUR NEAREST VENUE!

raggedtrouseredphilanthropist · 25/09/2009 08:26

can't believe I missed this thread! LOVE LOVE LOVE muse!
(apologies for not having read the whole thread...) anyone else got tickets to see them in November???
soooooo excitied!

Littlepurpleprincess · 25/09/2009 08:33

hello!

raggedtrouseredphilanthropist · 25/09/2009 08:35

hello!
just got their new album too. some things are a little odd on there, but mostly great

Littlepurpleprincess · 25/09/2009 08:46

I like odd! I love the classical elements. He's mad as fish really....

LyraSilvertongue · 25/09/2009 11:50

Fair enough LPP. I hate touts too. They're the reason I have to pay double face value to see them at the O2 when I was online on the dot of 9am when the tickets went on general release.
Raggedtrousers, this album is so different from the others isn't it. Less guitar and more synthesiser. I really don't like Guiding Light - it reminds me of that 80s power ballad The Power of Love by Jennifer Rush. Undisclosed Desires is a bit Justin Timberlake but it's growing on me. There's such a huge range of musical styles all thrown in there.

Squishabelle · 25/09/2009 13:19

Ragged - Welcome to the Church! Where are you seeing them In November? Im off to Sheffield and the o2. Cant wait.

Thequeensfool · 25/09/2009 14:00

Hello ragged

I'm seeing them in Birmingham in November; can't wait!!

raggedtrouseredphilanthropist · 26/09/2009 10:05

yeah, this album is so different. listening to it at the mo. even the first song took a little getting used to, and I reckon they will play a lot off this album on the tour too.
Really hope they play a lot of black holes and absolution as they are my favourite albums. I listened to the entire black holes album pretty much constantly while separating from xh. Funnily enough, so many of them related to my ex inlaws! Invincible is my fave - Matt wrote that for me
squishable - o2 AND sheffield! I am seeing them at o2. Gonna give my spare ticket to my best mate for her birthday

Littlepurpleprincess · 26/09/2009 10:22

Guiding Light is my least favourite as well. Something a bit bugging about it but it's the only one I wouldn't choose to listen to.
