I can't be the only one who loves this band more than life itself (well almost).
I only just discovered them a month ago. I can't believe I missed so much.

whedonzgal - what brilliant descriptions of their songs! You are right, there is some 80s in there and Queen. The album is growing on me now, and its only through repeated playings that I am beginning to get quite how clever the songs are.
BUT, am I the only person who wants to sing 'call me' when the guitar comes in with its 2 chords on Uprising??

Thequeensfool · 27/09/2009 22:45

Whedonzgal - I belong to you is definitely one of my faves too.

I adore Resistance though, think that's my number one at the moment...

I think Nocturne at the end of UofE is fab; it's really eerie how you can hear children laughing etc in the background.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2009 22:48

Another vote for I Belong To you.
Still not liking Guiding Light at all. Whedonzgal, glad you made the Jennifer Rush connection too. It's not just me then.

Has to be Absolution for me. So many great songs on it.

Thequeensfool · 01/10/2009 19:50

Yep, Absolution is my favourite album too . I fail to see how they can ever top songs like Hysteria and Butterflies and hurricanes and...oh just the entire album!!

LyraSilvertongue · 01/10/2009 20:10

Not to mention Apocalypse Please and Stockholm Syndrome. And Assassin. And Sing for Absolution.

Thequeensghoul · 28/10/2009 17:10

13 days and counting woohoo!!!!

senua · 03/11/2009 09:25

Only seven days to go. I've never seen them live: am getting v. excited.

QueenThistle · 03/11/2009 12:39

But aren't Muse really just a poor man's Radiohead?

OrmIrian · 03/11/2009 12:41

Ooh look at you all

I was introduced to Muse a few months back courtesy of MN, I downloaded Black Holes and Revelations and love it. Good running music!
What album next?

MellonCollieMother · 04/11/2009 18:32

senua - you're going to Brum too then?

Orm - listen to Absolution, in fact listen to all the albums!

(oh, it's Thequeensghoul/fool)

Squishabelle · 05/11/2009 10:38

Tortington · 05/11/2009 10:39
Envy
LyraSilvertongue · 05/11/2009 14:51

Ormirian, Absolution is their best album.

Queenthistle, have you actually listened to Muse? The Radiohead comparisons ended after their first album. They're on (studio) album 5 now. Get with the times lady!

LyraSilvertongue · 05/11/2009 14:53

Squishabelle, I'm so . Eight days to go till I see them at the O2. I'm listening to Exogenesis right now. Pure genius.

Duritzfan · 05/11/2009 18:05

oooh Ive just discovered the music section on here .. am another huge Muse fan.. will be seeing them for the first time at the 02 and CANT WAIT !!

MellonCollieMother · 05/11/2009 20:35

Hi Squish! So...set list please .

LyraSilvertongue · 05/11/2009 21:46

Oh yes, set list. I need to know.
Duritzfan, when are you going? I'm going on the 13th.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/11/2009 19:22

The set list from Sheffield on Nov 4th was:

Main Set
Uprising
Resistance
New Born
Map of the Problematique
Supermassive Black Hole
Guiding Light
Interlude
Hysteria
United States Of Eurasia
Feeling Good
Unintended
Undisclosed Desires
Starlight
Plug In Baby
Time Is Running Out
Unnatural Selection

Encore 1
Exogenesis: Symphony, Part 1: Overture
Stockholm Syndrome
Knights of Cydonia

LyraSilvertongue · 08/11/2009 19:24

I can't imagine why they're including Guiding Light, which is the only weak point on the new album. I Belong To You would have been a better choice.

MellonCollieMother · 08/11/2009 20:17

Looking forward to Uprising and Resistance!

Guiding Light seems a natural choice (don't like it though), with it being 'stadium rock' an' all that .

MellonCollieMother · 08/11/2009 21:13

Ugh, just noticed 'Undisclosed Desires'. There's one off the album I just can't force myself to listen to.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/11/2009 21:47

I'm struggling a bit with Undisclosed Desires too. Guiding Light is Power Ballad. what were they thinking?
