I can't be the only one who loves this band more than life itself (well almost).
I only just discovered them a month ago. I can't believe I missed so much.

OP posts:

and bliss

Thequeensshipmate · 19/09/2009 23:12

Well Custy, I think we saw off the blasphemers rather well!

Tortington · 20/09/2009 00:04

yep, just me and you defending the church, we need to employ better tactics.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/09/2009 00:49

Vote for Muse here to win an award at the Q awards. They're nominated for best band in the universe, or something. I think they deserve to win.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/09/2009 00:51

What blasphemers? I saw no blasphemers. Who would dare to blaspheme?

Tortington · 20/09/2009 08:11

here

i warn you - it wasn't pretty

Tortington · 20/09/2009 08:12

i voted too

i dont know who some of the other bands are

makes me a gimmer

LyraSilvertongue · 20/09/2009 16:06

I have looked. I have commented. The Op is clearly mentally unhinged

Thequeensshipmate · 20/09/2009 17:44

Agreed! Shocking isn't it?

One can only feel pity for those that haven't seen the light...

Thequeensfool · 21/09/2009 16:14

who haven't!

Squishabelle · 22/09/2009 15:34

This is funny.

Grin
LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2009 09:28

Tee hee. Matt's voice coming out of Dom's mouth. Did you also notice that Chris was playing guitar and Dom had the bass? So all three switched around.

Thequeensfool · 23/09/2009 13:49

Yes, fantastic! Also at the end, when she started talking to Dom, you could see Chris walking off in the background laughing his head off.

Squishabelle · 23/09/2009 14:14

Dom couldnt keep a straight face during his 'lead man' interview esp when he referred to 'our drummer Matt'.

Also loved Matts twirling of the drumstick round the back of his head malarky!

hoppybird · 23/09/2009 17:17

Oh dear. I'm so behind the times. The first I ever even heard of this band was when I kept seeing adverts for their new album in the advert breaks between Peep Show last Friday. I thought "Hmm, that sounds like my sort of thing." And lo and behold, they were on Jools Holland that very same evening!

It turns out that a colleague of my dh is a huge fan and bought the new album immediately, and we were able to listen to it last night. Very impressive, loads of musical references and I love Chopin anyway, so that was nice to hear. Anyone else spot Doctor & the Medics 'Spirit in the Sky' spliced with the Dr Who in 'Uprising'? The Queen harmonies and 'Vienna' references were pretty hilarious though. I know little about this band, but are they tongue in cheek?

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2009 18:01

No they're not generally tongue in cheek but they like to have a bit of fun sometimes.
If you want to check them out further I'd highly recommend their last two albums, Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations (Absolution is my favourite of all the albums). Their two oldest albums, Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry, are also fantastic but may be best to try the newer stuff first.
I'll post some links to some of my faves in a bit.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2009 18:03

Feeling Good
It's a cover but in my opinion it's better than the original.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2009 18:04

The Groove

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2009 18:07

Supermassive Black Hole
Weird video, great song.
There are other links further down the thread.

tkband3 · 23/09/2009 18:18

I walked up the aisle to Muse's cover of Feeling Good!

And DD1 has spent the afternoon working out dance routines to Uprising . It's been played on repeat for about an hour, so I think I might have got that one out of my system - still, it's better than Mamma Mia .

DH and I went to see them years ago at the London Arena - they were fab, but we did feel a little old, specially when we saw all the dads outside waiting to pick up their teenage children .

Littlepurpleprincess · 23/09/2009 18:29

ooo I just discovered this thread, I didn't know MN had a music section!

Muse are....I can't actually describe Muse! Have you ever heard their cover version of I Can't Take My Euyes Off Of You?

I love Resistance on the new album and the last symphony. I remember hearing Unintended on my first date and loved it. The first time I saw them was on the Brit awards playing Hysteria when I was about 14!

Littlepurpleprincess · 23/09/2009 18:30

Forgot to mention was greatly annoyed at missing out on the Teignmouth shows. I only live 15 minutes up the road!

Thequeensfool · 23/09/2009 19:15

Ooh fab to see more fans on here!

I love their version of 'Can't take my eyes off you' LLP; also love 'In your world' on that ep.

Squishabelle · 23/09/2009 19:54

Princess - Teingmouth was great. How did you miss that (being so close?)
