Having come across some v misogynistic attitudes across social media on heavy metal boards I thought I would start a thread were is women fans of all things hard and heavy could hang out, feel free to say hi.

Lifetime metalhead here! Don't dress the part but love it. Strapping Young Lad, Insomnium, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Arch Enemy (The Angela Gossow era), Gojira, The Hu, Devin Townsend, Trivium... I could go on! Still regularly go to gigs but don't do the lifestyle per se.

Oooh and while I’m at it, I saw Sabaton in April and while I was very sad that The Hu were no longer supporting, I discovered a new love for Babymetal! They were incredible.

I used to love the radio one rock show. Think it was on a Sunday? I remember when they just played sad songs when princess Diana died

It took me about 10 years to convert DH to metal and he loves even heavier stuff tha I do. He does love Ghost as well though (Satanic ABBA is spot on).

I can't decide if I like Deftones or not.

I'm learning to play drums and the teacher always says to listen to them but I don't think I've found a song I love.

I've been into metal since secondary school in the 80's. Seen loads of the good stuff at Monsters of Rock and other gigs over the years

• AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Accept, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Sabbath, Megadeth, Thunder, Scorpions etc etc

Later got into other stuff including Drowning pool, Avenged sevenfold, Royal blood, Marylin Manson, Ghost, Greta van fleet, Buck Cherry and on. Still listening to all the old stuff - Rainbow, Deep purple, Ozzy, Dio etc good music never dies.

Rapture was the first Deftones songs I heard, still my favourite! They can take a while to get into, though.

@WetBandits I saw Sabaton too, they were bloody amazing 😆😆😆😆 I’m not a baby metal fan at all, but I loved Lordi!

We were at the Imperial War Museum not long ago, and all the way round we were Sabaton spotting- ooh the Dreadnought- The Red Baron- The Fields of Verdun! In June we went to Tankfest and we were not let down by the number of Sabaton T-shirts we saw 🤘🏻

Ugh we missed Lordi due to the traffic getting in! ☹️
