Having come across some v misogynistic attitudes across social media on heavy metal boards I thought I would start a thread were is women fans of all things hard and heavy could hang out, feel free to say hi.

I have pulled up my big girl pants and am going to see Bring Me the Horizon next month by myself. I'm kind of nervous though about going alone but to be honest once the band starts who cares, I just want to dance.

We've booked for Dublin and I'm really excited for it.
I did want to get tickets for Tool as well but I'm in Belfast and they're not coming to Ireland at all so would have to go England and it would be about 400 quid in total with tickets, flights and accommodation.

I'm going to Bring Me The Horizon tomorrow in Glasgow tragically alone. I'm really excited about Bad Omens too, who are supporting.

But I'm really embarrassed to get going by myself, and keep thinking I shouldn't bother going.

I dunno.

Definitely go - I'm sure it will be an amazing gig. My daughter is very miffed she missed out on tickets for this tour. Have a great time, you won't regret it.

Wobbling about it today. Will definitely go but feel quite sad that it's alone. I don't know anyone else into the same music as me and it feels lame.

Although I do have a ticket for another gig in a few weeks that'll also be me alone, so I'm using this as a test run for how stupid and conspicuous I feel.

You won’t be conspicuous, I often go to the theatre alone I just chat to the people next to me, watch the play then leave. It’s great, get to chat to others, get to see something I want to.

it would be awful to go through life not doing something because you’re imagining what others think. Post some pictures here give us some updates how it’s going. We’ll be there in spirit with you

That's so nice of you. I think I'm down because I would likely have gone to this with a friend, and she's moved away and we've lost touch really. So it just feels a bit sad!

I know what you mean! Usually find the logo fonts for black metal or death metal bands v tricky to decipher. Thankfully a lot of festivals offer a plain font version of line ups now!
