A few weeks ago, I started a thread about lesser known hits from the 1980s. My favourite lesser known 90s songs include.
OMD - walking on the milky way.
Ali Campbell - that look in your eye.
Alisha rules the World - Alisha's attic (not as successful as their other singles but I much preferred it).
How bizarre by OMC. Scarlett with Independent love song (blatant rip off of November rain, but still ace)
You and me against the World by Space.
Deetah_ relax.
Music box _ everything is going to be alright.
Life by Desree

I loved the r&b harmonising groups of the 90s.
En Vogue - Free your mind
Brownstone - if you love me
TLC - switch or Creep
Boys2Men - end of the road

Also, The Bucketheads - these sounds fall into my miiiind

The Nightcrawlers - Push the feeling on.

But per my previous post, nothing hits me in the 90s quite like Deeply Dippy. Even the video, it's filmed in London on a summer evening and just the way the evening light looks....pure nostalgia

Oioi!

London in the 90s. How I miss it. Thank you for that, never saw the video before.

Did anyone already mention 'Stars' by Dubstar? Great song.

I'm sorry OP but 'Life' by Des'ree is a crime against lyrical composition. "I don't want to see a ghost, it's the sight that I fear most. Rather have a piece of toast and watch the evening news". It's not cute or quirky, it's just twee and annoying.

I normally swerve U2, I thought I was far too cool for them in the 90's, but Who's gonna ride your wild horses came on the radio yesterday and I loved it. It also turns out I know every single word. No wonder I can't remember anything - my head is full of song lyrics from songs I haven't heard for 30 years!

U2 - Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses

The music video for the fifth single from the album ‘Achtung Baby’ was directed by Phil Joanou, with the band filmed in studio in black and white on 35mm fil...

Gloworm - Carry Me Home ❤️

ShoesoftheWorld · 10/09/2023 18:37

The Beautiful South - everyone remembers Song for Whoever and Don't Marry Her, but A Little Time is brilliant.

dikwad · 10/09/2023 18:39

Any west coast gangsta rap - I love it all.

But also When a Woman by Gabrielle!

Everything by the beautiful south and the housemartins is brilliant. Paul Heaton is a musical genius.

Sourisblanche · 10/09/2023 18:43

De’lacy Hideaway - one of my fave tracks 1995 and the video set in NYC is fab and evocative.

Love the lyrics ‘I’m an independent woman, don’t need anyone to take care of me’. I was living away from home finishing my masters and working professionally for the first time.

Blossomandbee · 10/09/2023 18:43

90s is my era too. Trying to think of some less popular ones I like:

You'll See by Madonna
Thunder by East 17
When Love and Hate collide by Def Leppard
I love you always forever by Donna Lewis
One and One by Robert Miles
Sugar Coated Iceberg by Lightning Seeds
He's on the Phone by Saint Etienne
Ladykillers by Lush
Freestyler by Bomfunk MC

DaisyGatz · 10/09/2023 19:00

Being Boring by the Pet Shop Boys.

RichardsGear · 10/09/2023 19:01
