Oh that's a good idea!
Slightly Grin at the thought of me being a support person.

CrohnicallyPregnant · 18/11/2016 15:20

Exactly- last year I went via London to Disneyland. We got off the regular train, taxi to hotel, stayed overnight and then back to station to get Eurostar. I said to DH that I wasn't going to interfere with travel arrangements or anything, and he was just to guide me round, I would do as I was told! Even that was a nightmare.

I like the mismatched buttons, but don't go on my word, I have no sense of style whatsoever!

I'll ask dd in case you want a fashion conscious 14 yo's opinion!

FaithAscending · 18/11/2016 16:16

I like the multi coloured buttons personally!

Dd's opinion: leave it. Other buttons would look wrong, taking them off would look less formal.
It looks classy as it is and will go with anything.
(She's being very smug now, don't feel you have to listen to her Grin)

autisticrat · 18/11/2016 16:18

If they're going to annoy you or make you feel awkward, and it's not going to show where they were, I'd take them off. I think it'd look fine. But I also think it looks fine with them on. Neither way would look silly or inappropriate to me. It's a lovely jacket :)

CloudPerson · 18/11/2016 16:20

I still say different colours, I think it would look very individual, and I don't really like gold.

It's funny, I don't really like gold bits and bobs (findings?) on clothes, either. But they seem to come into fashion every few years.

autisticrat · 18/11/2016 16:34

Academia isn't usually super-formal, is it?

autisticrat · 18/11/2016 16:56

I ask b/c I'm planning to go to any university interviews I might be lucky enough to get in a hoodie and jeans 😂 Just won't be able to concentrate as well in fancy clothes!

BigDamnHero · 18/11/2016 17:02

Personally, in terms of what I think would look best, I think the multicoloured buttons would be awesome.

But, in terms of what would be most 'appropriate' for the interview: probably leaving the original buttons on (I'm also not a fan of 'gold' buttons/buckles/detail on clothes etc. so I can understand your reluctance, though).

Yeah, but you're a top-ranking person (you're on this thread, aren't you? that proves it Grin) so all's good.

I can't offer advice on jackets, I have no sense of style whatsoever!! DP helps me pick out clothes and sometimes tells me what I can't wear (my cool socks that look like trainers are apparently not ok for court...)

I am annoyed, meeting friends in town at 5. It is now 5.42 and one has texted to say she was late leaving work. Fine, but couldn't she have let me know? I am now sitting by myself in a busy pub which I HATE doing. Also losing my peopling spoons for the night on telling strangers they can't have the table. Argh!!

CloudPerson · 18/11/2016 17:58

Perhaps we could make you a "top ranking" badge so there'd be no doubt about it? Grin

I've had a 3 day shoulder/neck/face spasm and I'm about to do the whole weekend as chief parent. I'd like to just sleep really!

Pubs are awful Laura, god knows how I spent so much time in them (perhaps the alcohol had something to do with that).

Polter, you could go the whole hog and go dressed as Wonder Woman. They'd be very impressed Grin
