Hi everyone,

We're working with a national newspaper to find out what MNers who live in Scotland think about the referendum which is coming up in September.

This survey is open to all Mumsnetters living in Scotland.

If you're interested, please complete the survey here.

Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks!

Any idea when this survey will be published MNHQ?

prettybird · 01/09/2014 16:58

Maybe never, if they didn't get the results they wanted Wink

OldLadyKnowsSomething · 02/09/2014 03:14

The response level is quite low; this is probably the 104th reply, and it's not my first. Most surveys use at least 1000 people, so the sample is pretty poor, unless of course there are actually 10 - 12 times as many people filling out the (frankly shite, I mean seriously, surveymonkey?) survey than are admitting it here.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/09/2014 16:22

Obviously the response level is super low as MNHQ just emailed me suggesting that I should fill it in....

...and that's with a link having been posted on Facebook to the survey I may have been rude about the questions Wink

OOAOML · 02/09/2014 22:01

Yes I just got emailed and assumed it was a new survey, how disappointing. I don't really find any of the politicians involved in this attractive, so lucky that isn't how I make political decisions.

prettybird · 02/09/2014 22:47

You mean, you didn't take it in 2 minutes and 40 seconds over a cup of tea? Shock

OOAOML · 02/09/2014 22:52

Well we've already established I'm a bad parent so I'd probably fill it in whilst swigging wine and flicking fag ash over the cereal Wink

figgypuddings · 03/09/2014 09:25

OOAOML for First Minister! Grin

WillPenn · 03/09/2014 09:42

Yes I now wish I had not filled it in too. Though I did write at the end that I thought the survey is asking all the wrong questions. I hope they contact me so I can explain that these are not the issues that matter to me (and many other people).

It doesn't matter whether my mortgage rate goes up as a result of independence - I am willing enough to take the hit if it means more social justice, more action on climate change, and the end of nuclear weapons in Scotland. What is going to make the most difference to my children's future - catastrophic climate change or whether they pay for their shopping with pounds or euros??? (gets off soapbox)

OOAOML · 03/09/2014 09:57

figgy thanks! Now what campaign pledges can I promise? Free wine for parents if they attend health visitor clinics? Equal long lie entitlement to be enshrined in the constitution?

WillPenn Personally I think that if you don't get the economy right (and the signs are not good) then you can't do all the other things. But we've gone over all that to the nth degree on the other referendum threads so I'm not going to rewrite masses of it here.

Sadly I doubt they will contact people following the survey. I imagine at the moment they don't have enough for a meaningful sample size anyway. Hopefully it will be more than meaningless soundbites about which politician we prefer. We have some pretty good debate going here most days.

RawCoconutMacaroon · 03/09/2014 13:23

I got emailed earlier today to ask if a journo could contact me... I assume everyone who filled the survey in has been too, and they will contact a few of us. Trying to put my thoughts together as bullet points now. Which is not that easy!

OOAOML · 03/09/2014 13:24

Maybe my responses weren't interesting enough.

RawCoconutMacaroon · 03/09/2014 14:45

I'm sure they were interesting responses... Maybe they pick a few people at random.

prettybird · 03/09/2014 15:03

I've just had an email from MNHQ asking me to fill in the survey if I haven't already done it. Unfortunately for them, I have Hmm

Benromach · 03/09/2014 16:20

I got a mail too. Told them I was voting yes. Perhaps that's why I've not been contacted by the journalist yet or maybe I'm being too cynical Wink

OOAOML · 03/09/2014 16:27

Well I told them I was voting No and haven't had a response.

OOAOML · 03/09/2014 16:28

I wonder what the response rate has been? Presumably not great if they're emailing people to fill it in.

AnnMumsnet · 04/09/2014 12:37

Thanks for all the responses
