Would you like to try out a new headlice treatment for free?

Hi all

We're looking for 100 mumsnetters to test Itax, a new non-chemical programme of head lice lotion spray (2 treatments per bottle RRP £11.99) and soothing 'anti-itching' shampoo (150ml RRP £9.99).

It's a tricky one because obviously it's hard to know when or if the dreaded lice are going to strike, but if you have a recurrent problem (or a school with a recurrent problem) or have lice you're struggling to shift and would like to put this new product through its paces please give us your details here . We're trying to get the feedback before mid Dec... to give you a time frame to gauge whether you'll get nits before then

we have a reccurent problem in ds's class as there is one child who permanantly has nits.
Poor ds isn't going to like me if I shave all his hair off again due to the blimmin' things!

have entered because we can't seem to shift the buggers, I managed to get the girls clear after the school holidays, within a week they had them back

Well I've filled it in based on law of averages; child in reception=bound to get nits by xmas!

ooooh they're busy aren't they? A friend of mine got this free from netmums.

Have also entered.. as although we are nit free at the moment.. we have already had the little critters 3 times since starting this school year! so we will get them again.. probably in a few days as the school is rife with them!!

Dd has never had nits ... we're well overdue for a huge infestation! Her friend has had them several times though, and I guess it really is just a matter of time before dd picks them up too.

If we get a sample, whichever of us has the first infestation can use it ... there's bound to be one of her friends gets the little buggers before December.

couldnt find any last time i looked in dd's hair
but they have a habit of turnign up unannounced.

I found a nit in my Dad's hair the other day. He wasn't impressed when I told him!!

I have them at the moment

I have very thick hair, like Hurleys from LOST but alot longer and I can't seem to shift them and scratch constantly.

It's easier to get rid of them from the children as their hair is alot finer, although they get them alot, I suppose from me

We have a recurrent problem in dd's class

Usual problem.....one family not treating their kids

Have signed up as although we haven't had them yet, there was a letter from school a few days ago warning us of their presence

oh we got some within a week of getting back to school after summer hols. Really struggling to shift the buggers. With 2 boys (who still roll around with each other and others) it seems like once we get rid of one child's the other gets them....

What exactly, in the Great Scheme of things, is the point of headlice???

Same story here. There is even one mum in DD's class who has openly admitted she doesn't bother treated her children as it is a waste of time as they keep coming back . No wonder we keep having to battle them with attitudes like that!

DD has had them 4 times since going back to school. It's making me wonder if i'm doing something wrong! I gave up with Hedrin, Lyclear seemed OK, and am now trying Full Marks. Am convinced i got them all, but she's still itching (hence shampoo would be great to try).

My ds (asd) sits on the table with the child who never gets treated for nits. Its a myth to say ASD children will not get nits as they are not sociable enough but a nightmare to treat due to his sensory issues.

Filled out the survey- dd1 is in reception and it's rampant there!!
