biggest bath time - ds3 completely loathes baths.
allowed him to bring some toys in
tried to make it fun and relaxed
let him be in control when rinsing off his hair
eventually he never wanted to get out - new problem Grin

bedtime - staying in bed when going up earlier than older ds2 who he shares room with. still haven't quite solved this issue...

Bathtime hair washing is tricky! Just making sure you have plenty of time and an extra pair of hands around is a big help.

Bedtime is helped loads with a babygrow / babysac for sleeping in - my youngest never thought about escaping whereas first time round bedtime was a massive ordeal as my son would climb out of cot and then bed.

My son has special needs and bathtime is a vital part of his routine. He absolutely loves bathtime and all the singing and splashing... as well as it being a wonderful winding down ritual getting him all clean and relaxed for bed.

Asda Little Angels bedtime bath with lavender and chamomile is our potion of choice; relaxing, soothing and gentle on the skin.

My little one hates having shampoo on hair!! Just doesn’t like having water in her eyes. Even though it’s a nine year shampoo. Now I try and get her to look up, head back and use hand held shower handle to make it less upsetting for her.. seems happier now

Biggest bath hurdle in my house is trying to stop my girls getting their hair wet 🤦
They are of dual heritage jamaican/english and omg does their hair take some up keep.

Bed time hurdle at the .moment is actually getting them to stay in bed. They are 3 and 4 years old and i used to be able to put them to bed (they sleep together spent a fortune on a specially made bunk bed but thats a different story lol) , they used to chat and fall asleep.
But now it is any and i mean ANY excuse to call me or get out of bed. From needing 10 more kisses and cuddles, to being half starved and dying of thirst haha.
Please tell me this is a phase xx

MakeTeaNotWar · 13/04/2018 08:09

Non- tester - my DC still bath together and they have a lot of fun. The biggest challenge is trying not let them drench everyone and everything as they muck about. I don't try too hard to stop them though as they really do have fun together

My wee one loves the bath, but my husband works long hours and now that they outgrown her schnuggle tub finding a bathtub that I can use without hurting my back has been a challenge.

non-tester: trying to get two children into bed at the same time

AngelwingsPetlamb · 13/04/2018 17:26

My dc loves the bath so much that the challenge is to get him back out and into bed.
When out we dry his hair with the hairdryer which warms him up and pop his pj’s on that have been warmed. This seems to settle him down ready for bed quite nicely with a story.

My children always loved bath time when they were little and it was never a problem to get them clean. Now they are teenagers the main problems are:

  1. Getting them out of the shower (they would spend most of the day showering if allowed!)
  1. Leaving soaking wet towels and bathmats abandoned on the floor for the towel fairy to deal with.
  2. My favourite issue however is dealing with water all over the floor which then leaks through to the ceiling below.

I find shouting at them, banging on the bathroom door and flushing the loo downstairs to interrupt the flow of hot water all helps!!

buckley1983 · 13/04/2018 23:08

Non-tester here! My son & have always had a bath together, so getting him into the bath has been relatively easy.
However, now at 5, he is getting bigger - there's not much room for us both! I'm trying to get him used to getting in the bath on his own - but I still end up getting absolutely soaked while playing with him outside the bath, so I may as well just get in anyway! :)

Overall, what did you like best about the Little Angels bedtime bath range? Which was your favourite product in the range and why?

I have to say, for me at least, it was the smell! The whole range smells so lovely! I think for DD, it was the shampoo as when the lather went in her eyes we were tear free, so I'm presuming it didn't sting her at all. Also, whilst we were testing DD had a bout of nappy rash, with other products we've had to stop using them until the nappy rash cleared as they irritated it and made it worse. However, when we risked it with this range, the irritation didn't get any worse, so the products are really very kind to sensitive skin.

My overall favourite were the wash wipes, I never realised how handy they'd be, but, for days when there was no time to give DD a bath before bed they were fantastic! Just whip one out, work from top to bottom and voilà! One lovely smelling, clean little munchkin 😁.

*-Would you buy the products again and would you recommend the products to a friend or family member?

I would definitely buy the wash wipes, bubble bath and shampoo again, without a doubt. I wasn't overly keen on the massage oil as it seemed to leave a greasy residue on DDs body and was very slow to soak in. The bath toys and storage net were brilliant, but more of a one off purchase as they're hard plastic and easily cleaned with nowhere for nasties to lurk.

I would 100% recommend the asdas little angels range to friends and family, we were really surprised with the quality of the goods and very pleased indeed!

I had a brilliant bath stand for my kids as newborns which really took the stress out of bathtime. Both went through phases of not liking the bath so I got a few light up singing bath toys which they loved also enjoyed me singing .

The bathing isn't the problem, it's the second my DC leaves the bath. She screams and screams until she's dry and dressed again.

Treaclespongeandcustard · 14/04/2018 09:38

My DC aren't ever keen to get in to the bath. I make it more fun by introducing new toys every month or so. It doesn't have to be anything grand, an empty shampoo bottle does the trick often Grin

Biggest hurdle for us is that our son likes to splash - but he's 8 years old Smile He's autistic, and still thinks like a toddler. But his splashes are now much bigger!

dilydaly · 14/04/2018 23:15

Biggest bath time hurdle was getting water in my daughter's face, she hates having the water touch her face. We overcame this by having her wear a visor type hat in the shower :D not the most convenient but it kept her happy !

My children are now older (10 and two teenagers) but we still use baby products, as my children have sensitive skin. They have always loved baths, and still do. My biggest battles? Getting them to take less time in the bath or shower. Getting them to use less products (apparently, hair to be properly clean needs at last two massive handfuls of shampoo) and the wet towels everywhere. Why do I have to keep asking them to pick up the wet towels. When does it become automatic?

kateandme · 15/04/2018 11:09

washing hair.they both had major issue with getting shampoo in their eyes!!

mermaidsandunicorns · 15/04/2018 15:27

I love the little angels range it has a great smell and cleanses really well. My ds has really sensitive skin and this is the only range that doesn't cause him to flare up

Biggest bath time hurdle was when dd, then aged about 2, flatly refused to have her hair washed. I just used bribery and washed it pretty infrequently.

She's a teenager now and needs no such encouragement to hog the bathroom.

zinger · 15/04/2018 19:54

Non tester: our biggest hurdle is throwing things out of the bath and brushing through one bit of hair at the back that gets really knotty!!

UpOnDown · 15/04/2018 20:38

non-tester: our biggest problem is soaking the bathroom by being boisterous, need to keep reinforcing good behaviour.

biffyboom · 15/04/2018 22:19

Non-tester our biggest hurdle is finding bathing products that don't irritate my son's sensitive skin yet are fun for him to use. We get past this by having a range of products, and use the one best suited to how his skin is at that time, and moisturise him well afterwards.
