Getting them out of the bath now that they are older! A first in first out policy and repeated time warnings.

When ds was new born he hated the bath ! Looking back he probably didn't need a bath every night anyway but i wanted to do it as it was one of the things I looked forward to as a first time mum . He would scream and cry and I got upset. When visiting my mum I was trying to bath him- she said no wonder he's crying the water us freezing ! I was so scared of burning him I'd been putting him in luke warm water. Poor ds! My mum showed me how to get a nice WARM temperature in a washing up bowl!
He loved it from then on , still does at 4 years old....but no longer in a washing up bowl!

When DS was tiny he would scream blue murder getting out of the bath! Now he loves bath time so much he still creates a fuss when it's bed time. I try to get him dry ASAP and distract him with the thought of milk or teddy.

Our biggest hurdle is getting LO out of the bath and dressed before she realises what is going on. She LOVES her baths and hates being naked outside of the water.

lolly2011 · 11/04/2018 15:50

My biggest bath time hurdle is getting my son out afterwards, he loves a bath.

Tester:

I was really impressed with all the products. The bubble bath was very bubbly with a lovely scent and my two both enjoyed the novelty of having bubbles as they usually bathe in oil due to sensitive skin. The cream soaked in quickly and helped keep their skin soft/hydrated until the morning. The shampoo smelt nice but I had to use a conditioner after too as that alone left their hair a bit dry and squeaky.

The bath toys went down really well for both my 2 and 5 year old. Great fun stacking them and splashing water through the holes. The net was a nice touch and I've never used one to store toys before. Stopped them getting so mouldy and gunky as putting them in a plastic tub does. They are both enjoying pouring water on each other with the jug. This would be very useful if our bath didn't have a shower attachment to use when washing hair.

The wash cloths smelt lovely, lavender and camomile and were softer than baby wipes and bigger too. Perfect for a freshen up in the nights between baths.

The talc was useful for drying their toes and they found it hilarious to use after watching that talc scene in Boss Baby! I'm hesitant about using talc very often though for fear of them breathing it in.

Like others, I found the mist spray too greasy and it took too long to sink in between whipping out the bath and getting pjs on, not wanting them to get chilly.

My favourite product was the cream, but I'd have happily paid for the bubble bath, washlets, toys and net.

Thanks for choosing me to test.

Getting him out of the bath. He loves it and can put the plug back in now so letting it drain doesn't work. Can take a while some nights. Still working on the best method to get him out.

foxessocks · 11/04/2018 18:48

Non tester - our biggest hurdles for bath is hair washing. Neither child likes it. The older one just about tolerates it now but she used to scream. Bed time is just getting them to get ready for bed without constantly getting distracted!!

PorridgeAgainAbney · 11/04/2018 19:45

Non-tester. Biggest problem is that the more tired he is the more he wants a bath, but then it makes him all warm and sleepy...trying to then get him into pj's and into bed is a bloody nightmare. But if I try to suggest a bath when he's wide awake and happy he reacts as if I just asked if he'd like me to chop his hands off Confused.

Onedaylikethi5 · 11/04/2018 19:54

Well, it was teeth brushing until tonight when DD 18 months suddenly decided it is her most favourite thing in the world. We have overcome it by doing our teeth at the same time and using a baby electric toothbrush. She loves bathtime, we always play music and play with far too many bath toys until she is all wrinkly from sitting in the water too long.

Our biggest hurdle is how excited having a bath makes ds, he has his baths after dinner and by the time he's finished is super hyped up and takes ages to calm down for bed Easter Confused

Anj123 · 11/04/2018 23:14

Non tester. My daughter used to hate brushing her teeth. We had to line up all her cuddly toys in the bathroom and brush all their teeth first before getting to hers! She is fine with teeth brushing now! 😁

The biggest bath time hurdle is hair washing. My toddler does not like,I get him to'look up to the sky' and count to 5 then it's done. I have actually used little angels bubble bath before and it's very good especially for the price, smells very nice and doesn't dry out the skin.

claza93 · 12/04/2018 08:39

Our biggest hurdle is getting them away from their toys to get in the bath - takes looks of bribing! Then once they are in the bath you cannot get them out!!! Typical

asuwere · 12/04/2018 08:45

Non tester - biggest hurdle with DS3 is getting him out the bath, I have to pull plug out while he's not looking so he'll come out when the water has all gone :)

grouchymamabear · 12/04/2018 09:59

Non-tester: our bathroom is ridiculously cold (external walls, no windows, no heating elements) which has been our biggest bath time hurdle with our 4 month old who loves being in the bath. We have to use an inflatable bath, on a towel, in the living room as it's the only way to ensure that he's comfortably warm before, during and after his baths. Dreading the day the bath suddenly gets a puncture!! 😅

WonderLime · 12/04/2018 11:05

Non tester: DS hates getting out of the bath, so I've started reciting his favourite story as I'm lifting him out and it seems to keep him distracted.

Dd loves the bath but hates having her hair washed. I have not found s way to completely overcome it but try to hold a flannel over her forehead as a barrier and get it over quickly.

Toadsrevisited · 12/04/2018 11:29

Biggest challenge is getting DS to stop giving me a running commentary on the Archers whilst he's having a bath- he calls them the Bath People and is pretty good at identifying characters now after a lifetime exposure to it at 7pm!!

DuskPanda · 12/04/2018 11:33

With DD biggest challenge was always hair washing and trying to get all the shampoo out, would let the shower head anywhere near her for rinsing.

Biggest bath time hurdle is getting OUT of the bath.
My 2 would have a 2 hour bath if I let them!
And forgetting there's still story time and reading after bath.

My biggest bath time hurdle is trying to convince Dd to let me rinse her hair with the jug. I've told her so many times that all she has to do is put her head back and it won't go in her eyes but she won't have any of it. I end up rinsing it with a flannel every time. Luckily she hasn't got loads of hair so I can for now.

IHateToCashew · 12/04/2018 17:35

My biggest challenge with four month old DS at bath time is avoiding getting kicked! He gets so excited he loses all control over his legs Grin the excited wiggling starts from the second he hears a tap running.

Caillou · 12/04/2018 18:41

Dc love being in the bath and I have to bribe them out with a story

Stargirl84 · 12/04/2018 19:19

My biggest bathtime and bedtime hurdle has to be getting the timing right - and if I leave bedtime too late, my 15 month old is so overtired and cranky then bedtime becomes a battle. If I bathe her 3 year old sister too early she is hyper and bouncing off the walls!
