innocent are looking for 20 MNers and their DC’s to take part in their Big Grow Campaign and grow their own vegetables at home.

Here’s what innocent have to say: “We want to encourage kids to grow their own veg to help teach them where their food comes from. We believe that by growing it themselves, kids are much more likely to eat (and enjoy eating) fruit and veg and continue with healthy eating habits to last a lifetime”

Each selected tester will receive a box containing:

  • a pack of pea seeds
  • a box of innocent kids smoothies
  • a garden label
  • a compost disc
  • a growing guide

Everyone who takes part will be required to test out the product with your DC and then leave two lots of feedback on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also love to see before, during and after photos of your peas growing.

The kits will be sent out from 5th April onwards. It takes a few weeks to grow your peas to the point where you can harvest the pea shoots to add them to salads or sandwiches, so please only apply if you’re around to see through the growing process for the following few weeks or so.

Everyone who leaves the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

If you would like to take part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

Done. I hope we get picked as DD has shown a real interest in where her food comes from recently,

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 26/03/2018 10:14

We only have a tiny garden - do we need a big growing space?

SillyMoomin · 26/03/2018 10:26

oh this sounds great, good excuse to start teaching about plants and bugs and outdoors things too!

Hi @PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks innocent says: "You won’t need a big growing space at all – by using your kids smoothie carton, you can pop them on your window sill or table. The growing guide we send out explains all, but it’s super easy and doesn’t take up space"

Butteredparsn1ps · 28/03/2018 07:53

This would be a lovely project for the summer. We’ve grown tomatoes in hanging baskets before and I was thinking about planting some lettuce this year as we eat a lot of salad. Would love to try this.

IggyAce · 28/03/2018 10:23

My kids would love to take part, they already enjoy watching flower seeds grow but it would be great for them to grown something they can eat.
