Pink Parcel and bettybox have asked us to find Mumsnetters to test their monthly subscription boxes with their daughters. To take part, you’ll need to be a Mumsnetter who uses femcare products and/or have a daughter using femcare products.

Some information from Pink Parcel and bettybox below:

Pink Parcel: “Pink Parcel is the UK’s No1 period subscription box that unites periods and pampering to make your time of the month fuss-free and fabulous. Delivered to your door monthly on a day of your choosing each box contains over £40 of femcare and beauty products including a luxe curation of cult beauty brands, herbal teas and artisan chocolates. You can select your choice of tampons, pads or a mix of both from all your trusted femcare brands. This super convenient box ensures you’ll never run out of femcare products again.”

bettybox: “bettybox is the perfect pick me up for girls. As well as all their trusted femcare products, they can expect sweet treats, make-up, stationery and more all from brands specially selected for teens. Choose from all your favourite femcare brands and receive your monthly box with treats worth up to £30 delivered for free directly to your door. You’ll never have to worry about running out of pads again!”

If selected to take part, you’ll need to give your feedback on a thread on Mumsnet as well as completing a short survey. All who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Please click here to sign up.

Thanks and good luck!

I thought that chemenger - maybe you can specify frequency rather than calender date? I can see it being a problem!

For those appalled at the concept and execution - I have expressed interest, and this is my reasoning / opinions on it if anyone is even mildy interested!

The pink, enjoy your period, have some chocolate etc etc tagline did make me roll my eyes, I admit. I was going to mention it in my feedback if I got picked Wink

I couldn't really see what was in the packs from the pic but one did look like it might have a moon cup in (although I now think it is a make up sponge) and that is something I have wanted to try for a while, but can't afford to spend £ on something I might try and not like.

For the same reason I wouldn't sign up to one of these without a 'try before you buy' opportunity. And why not try?

I thought there might be a varied range of sanpro to try - my periods are very different since DD and the sanpro I used previously is either uncomfortable or ineffective. A range of products to compare would be helpful.

I doubt they'd include a moon cup. If they gave you one of those you wouldn't need to sign up to pay £155/£169 on their "femcare", landfill and pampering crap.

LadyLapsang · 20/01/2018 19:32

If you are contemplating signing up to this, may I suggest instead that you spend a little money instead on tampons / towels to donate to a food bank.

ThatHippyDippyShit · 20/01/2018 20:44

When will we know if we've been selected?

KendalMintCakey · 21/01/2018 16:14

DD (12 yrs) and I would really like to participate in this. Hope we're lucky!

Ollivander84 · 21/01/2018 16:45

Lady - they're two different things. I'm a subscriber but I still donate. And the liners I don't use I take to work for people who struggle affording them. Just because I do one, doesn't mean I can't do the other
I can't use tampax, the supermarkets near me don't stock lilets applicator and I like the Kotex tampons. The beauty bits are a bonus

Shellaw · 21/01/2018 17:11

Would love I’ve got a 14 yesr old :)

star5 · 21/01/2018 17:24

would love to try this x

MonochromeDog · 21/01/2018 19:16

Yes me and dd14 very interested in this!

maclinks · 21/01/2018 23:33

What a great idea, DD has started 3 months ago and is getting tearful about managing it. This may just be the kick start into making it something to celebrate. Would be honoured to try it out.

Tillila · 22/01/2018 10:49

That sounds like fun. We would love to take part!

bec4everuk1 · 22/01/2018 11:28

Something to look forward to with the time of month which I normally dread my time of the month so will make a nice change :) x

Caddie1 · 22/01/2018 16:41

I would love to take part

carolineandbaby · 23/01/2018 00:50

How exciting. Not heard of this subscription box before x

gothstar · 23/01/2018 10:34

I would love to take part in this as my DD is at that age where going into shops with me is embarrassing and to be able to show her all this at home ight be a good thing.

specialsubject · 23/01/2018 13:54

This is beyond emetic.

Periods should be a minor inconvenience, if they aren't then go to the doctor. They are a body function, not a matter of pride or celebration. What next, a box to celebrate defecation?

Get out of the sixties.

bergh · 23/01/2018 17:51

yikes- didn't realise both could sign up and i only did myself- I cannot retake the form? can she also take part please? x

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 23/01/2018 18:04

Some of the excited posts on here. Hmm

I've bought three mooncups in about 15 years. So about £60 or so - £4 a year roughly. No environmental impact. I could have managed with one apart from accidentally burning one while sterilising it, and the three kids that pushed me into the second size.

I definitely think reusable fem ware sanpro should be more affordable. It's a shame the initial outlay is beyond so many people, especially when you might need to try more than one.

This idea is just monetising our periods, and stereotyping us yet again. If you want red wine when you've got your period, buy yourself a decent bottle and enjoy it. If you want to cheer yourself up when you're feeling bloated and achey, subscribe to a book a month club or a tea club or a gin club. If you're in serious pain, see your GP.

Some of these responses confirm what I've feared for a while now - mumsnet is turning into hunsnet

kungfupidge · 23/01/2018 18:14

sounds fab ! all signed up x

Hmmit’s almost like people have different views on things isn’t it?

I’m still undecided on the box but some of these responses are bordering on unkind. If you have an argument on why people shouldn’t use them then fair enough but just insulting the people that want to try it isn’t going to persuade people.

snozzlemaid · 23/01/2018 18:58

What a load of 'pink' bollocks.

Badweekjustgotworse · 23/01/2018 19:14

Well @snozzlemaid pink fanjos to be more precise

This is the thread that makes me lament the lack of eyeroll emoji on mumsnet.

Fluffiest · 23/01/2018 19:35

Wow, this is a lot of hate for a rather harmless service.

I signed up to pink parcel last year and can recommend them for a few reasons :

  1. I wanted to sign up for a beauty box subscription because I wanted to try new products without spending a fortune
  1. This one was one of the cheapest with the highest reviews from different bloggers.
  1. The sanitary products are a great bonus and they stocked the brand I use.
  1. It is super convenient for my period, they come with a selection of day time liners, night time ones and lighter panty liners for the last couple of days.
  1. I have more than enough for each period so that balances out for a 28 day cycle
  1. Any products I don't use I save up and add to Christmas presents to bulk them out.
  1. It's nice to receive a surprise parcel each month
  1. The beauty products are actually really good. I use about 90% of what they send.
