Pink Parcel and bettybox have asked us to find Mumsnetters to test their monthly subscription boxes with their daughters. To take part, you’ll need to be a Mumsnetter who uses femcare products and/or have a daughter using femcare products.

Some information from Pink Parcel and bettybox below:

Pink Parcel: “Pink Parcel is the UK’s No1 period subscription box that unites periods and pampering to make your time of the month fuss-free and fabulous. Delivered to your door monthly on a day of your choosing each box contains over £40 of femcare and beauty products including a luxe curation of cult beauty brands, herbal teas and artisan chocolates. You can select your choice of tampons, pads or a mix of both from all your trusted femcare brands. This super convenient box ensures you’ll never run out of femcare products again.”

bettybox: “bettybox is the perfect pick me up for girls. As well as all their trusted femcare products, they can expect sweet treats, make-up, stationery and more all from brands specially selected for teens. Choose from all your favourite femcare brands and receive your monthly box with treats worth up to £30 delivered for free directly to your door. You’ll never have to worry about running out of pads again!”

If selected to take part, you’ll need to give your feedback on a thread on Mumsnet as well as completing a short survey. All who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Please click here to sign up.

Thanks and good luck!

Well @snozzlemaid* pink fanjos to be more precise
Grin

SilenceIsBroken · 24/01/2018 00:05

Sounds brilliant, was thinking women could do with commercialising periods. Hmm

What a load of shite. Disappointed in you, MNHQ.

"I save up and add to Christmas presents to bulk them out."

"Bulking out" Christmas presents? Fuck me, how depressing. What about just giving one nice gift without a shower of lamdfill-destined tat to accompany it?

MollyHuaCha · 24/01/2018 07:15

Just watched the video - shocked at the vast quantities of plastic, cardboard and unwanted paper inserts. Shock

Fluffiest · 24/01/2018 07:25

Erm it's not landfill tat, its make up. Occasionally I think this won't suit me or I won't use it u, but the primer that is supposed to protect your face when exercising outside was a little gift for my long distance running friend. Or the bright yellow nail polish went to my teenage niece who wears brighter colours than I do.

If you don't want a beauty box, this probably isn't your thing. But if you do want one, then it's actually really useful having one that also delivers your sanitary products at the same time.

Flomper · 24/01/2018 09:24

period subscription box? Jesus Christ

Flomper · 24/01/2018 09:28

And the idea that younneed pamperig when you have your period? What is that teaching young girls? Ill tell you what, that its acceptable for men in the workplace to discriminate against women by denigrating their ideas as in valid because "they must be on the blob". I thought all this shit died out in the 90s.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 24/01/2018 10:12

EVERYTHING that bad week said in her post.

Absolutely unnecessary crap that is headed straight to landfill.

Also: We do not need everything to be pink ffs.

Srathore · 24/01/2018 14:38

Sounds like an amazing opportunity ♥️

SaltySeaBird · 24/01/2018 18:55

Wow I’m guilty of the odd beauty box and I’m a fan of Hello Fresh which is a guilty overpacked indulgence but draw the line at this. I’m speechless that there is a market for this. It sums up so much wrong with our society and wastefulness in the U.K.

Landed · 24/01/2018 20:40

Gee wizz some miserable people out there! Don't care for the names, like the idea until I get tire of it. Post is mainly soooo boring these days. Not regular and not particularly interested so thinking will leave others to try it out. Come on you miserable lot, who doesn't like a freebie? Try then comment... Wonder how many have actually signed up in hope anyway!

DressAndGo · 24/01/2018 20:44

What a load of rubbish (can I win a prize for my feedback? Grin)

products including a luxe curation of cult beauty brands: let's get them into consumerism asap. I'd rather go out and buy what I actually want.

herbal teas and artisan chocolates. which I can buy (cheaply) from the supermarket anyway. (Plus what a great idea to encourage that unhealthy comfort relationship with food)

You can select your choice of tampons, pads or a mix of both from all your trusted femcare brands. Femcare Hmm, you mean like I can at the supermarket for considerably less money...

I've just seen they do candy kittens!
I haven't had a period in years and live 10 mins from sainsbury, but still it calls to me a wee bit. Blush

Dilligaf81 · 24/01/2018 23:10

Oh yes please I have dd 13 and dd 10 who both need these products as well as myself.

@Landed why are we miserable because we don't want "periods and pampering united" and wrapped up in even more landfill.

DD is 13, been having periods since she was 11. She sorts her own "femcare" out by stocking up when we go to the supermarket. I've taught her that it's nothing to be embarrassed about - it's perfectly natural - unless it's painful and then you go to the doctors.

flowery · 25/01/2018 08:34

Isn’t “curation” what museums do? Confused

ParadiseCity · 25/01/2018 08:44

I used to have a mooncup and get on with it etc. Lately though I am just sick of periods. Sick of thinking about it. Sick of grocery shopping. So for a box of naice stuff to arrive in the post, I can totally see the appeal. I know someone is making a profit out of me but... I can't be ethical all the time... I'm too knackered and the planet is fucked anyway. I rarely fly, I boycott Nestle, I breastfed DC for a million years (approx), I just like the idea of this. Even if it is for people with more money than sense. It's like all out sourcing innit. We don't have a cleaner or an ironing service but I don't moan about those services existing.

Anj123 · 25/01/2018 19:25

My daughter and I would love to take part!

Rainatnight · 25/01/2018 19:50

God, this is depressing.

JustineBMumsnet · 26/01/2018 10:37

Thanks all for your comments - Pink Parcel and bettybox would like to respond to some of your queries and also address some of your feedback:

@CheeseandGherkins Both Pink Parcel and bettybox offer super plus tampons. These can be found in the sign up section when selecting your product, select ‘tampons’ > super + > all our super plus absorbency tampons are here.

@MyVisionsComeFromSoup Pink Parcel and bettybox offer both scented and non scented pads. They use popular, well known brands such as Always and Bodyform and both brands offer non-scented versions of pads. For more info on this contact their CS team on [email protected] or [email protected]

All of our packaging is recyclable and the drawstring cloth bag is reusable. Whilst others prefer the Moon Cup and other reusable products, some still prefer to use the non-organic/reusable items. Both Pink Parcel and bettybox are also currently working to include an organic option in their boxes.

Finally, we’re sorry that some of you feel this way. The idea behind our box is to try and remove the taboo around periods and make something not always so enjoyable a more positive thing to look forward to, so we’ve included health and lifestyle items in the ‘For You’ box. Herbal teas are great for settling stomach cramps, chocolate helps with the loss of blood in the body and the rest of the items are a great pick me up for when your hormones are all over place and you’re feeling low.

The idea behind the concept is not to exploit women’s biology, but to help make periods a bit better for those who struggle with them. Tons of women aren’t confident enough to buy their products from the shop - others find their TOTM painful and unpleasant. Of course, it won’t suit everyone - if you're not a beauty box fan generally this might not appeal - but if you are, this might be just the thing to make things a little bit more enjoyable every month!

Nevertheless this has been really interesting feedback for us, which of course is what we came to Mumsnet for in the first place. So, thanks for being so upfront!”

For flowery, from the Daily Mash:

Tossers curating everything

specialsubject · 26/01/2018 12:54

Herbal tea helps with cramps? Chocolate helps with blood loss? Your evidence please?
