Pink Parcel and bettybox have asked us to find Mumsnetters to test their monthly subscription boxes with their daughters. To take part, you’ll need to be a Mumsnetter who uses femcare products and/or have a daughter using femcare products.

Some information from Pink Parcel and bettybox below:

Pink Parcel: “Pink Parcel is the UK’s No1 period subscription box that unites periods and pampering to make your time of the month fuss-free and fabulous. Delivered to your door monthly on a day of your choosing each box contains over £40 of femcare and beauty products including a luxe curation of cult beauty brands, herbal teas and artisan chocolates. You can select your choice of tampons, pads or a mix of both from all your trusted femcare brands. This super convenient box ensures you’ll never run out of femcare products again.”

bettybox: “bettybox is the perfect pick me up for girls. As well as all their trusted femcare products, they can expect sweet treats, make-up, stationery and more all from brands specially selected for teens. Choose from all your favourite femcare brands and receive your monthly box with treats worth up to £30 delivered for free directly to your door. You’ll never have to worry about running out of pads again!”

If selected to take part, you’ll need to give your feedback on a thread on Mumsnet as well as completing a short survey. All who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Ours just arrived. Postie had to knock and we have quite a large letterbox too.

My name is correct but DDs not. The initials are H H. Seems they've pretty much got all the DD's names wrong. Doesn't bode well for the contents she's ordered then. Won't know til she gets later...

Glad they've arrived though and looking forward to opening them together.

RoseDog · 05/03/2018 12:58

It's snowed here all morning again so I doubt we will get post, they must have some back log at the depot!

Me and dd are both due our period so they come soon!

EnconaHotSauce · 05/03/2018 13:32

I’ve had a nose through my dd’s box. Shame that the advertised serum is missing - if I’d paid for it I’d be disappointed about a missing item. Again the pads seem to be scented, as were those in my box. Maybe I picked the wrong option for both but I’d rather have unscented ones.

jaimelannistersgoldenhand · 05/03/2018 13:33

Mine's arrived but not DD's.

I would have liked the choice of teen sized pads for dd.

aristocat · 05/03/2018 13:35

Sadstill no parcel for either myself or DD.

RoseDog · 05/03/2018 14:45

Ok mines is here but not dds yet!

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 05/03/2018 14:46

I have received my pink parcel box today, my daughters hasn't turned up. Somebody has mentioned her initials so it will be interesting to see if we get a box meant for somebody else.

My box didn't fit through my letterbox either.

First observations.
Lots of pads and tampons, great variety for different flows. Love the little black pouch to sling in my handbag. I do tend to chuck them in a pocket in my bag, then they end up a bit mangled with plasters and makeup stuck to them.
Nice selection of goodies to enjoy.
The Whittard teabag and coconut choc bites will be enjoyed after the school run!
I like the feel of the lipstick, but not too keen on the colour. I tend to be fairly neutral with my makeup, but this will be good to experiment with a new look.
The lip plumper really made my lips tingle, not sure they looked any plumper though.
The face mist made my skin feel so soft and refreshed. I can see that one being stolen by DDs, along with the facial oil. I'll have to hide them. Looking forward to trying the facial scrub too.

Really enjoyed receiving my parcel through the post as a treat for me. I'm not sure I'd subscribe though, but that's due to finances more than anything else.

tooearlytobeup · 05/03/2018 15:36

Ours arrived today. Nice idea and I liked mine. DD wasn’t impressed as the name was wrong (she got one with initials EW) and it contained all pads when she asked for, and only uses, tampons. Shame because she was looking forward to it arriving and I was considering taking a subscription out for her.

tooearlytobeup · 05/03/2018 15:37

Oh and it didn’t fit through the letterbox either

starlingsintheslipstream · 05/03/2018 15:45

I've just picked up the Betty Box from a neighbour. I think she had parcels for half the street so asked my name. I told her and also said it could be in my dd's name. You won't be surprised to hear it was in neither - addressed to PH. Bit of a shambles and the pp is right that there could be difficulties collecting from the Post Office - lucky that it fits through 94% of letterboxes (not).

I'm assuming we are all just opening them, notwithstanding the incorrect names, in the hope everyone gets one eventually?

Anyway will post about both when she's opened hers.

Mossend · 05/03/2018 16:48

My DD's one arrived today. The name on it was nothing like hers but the address was correct.
Unfortunately we must be in the 6% of small letterboxes because it didn't fit and was left with a neighbour. This is disappointing as I wouldn't feel right expecting my neighbour to take in 2 parcels on a monthly basis along with any ad hoc this I might order.
The contents were good, I'm sure she'd used everything in it. Everything was what I'd asked for.
Hopefully mine will arrive soon

EnconaHotSauce · 05/03/2018 17:03

Have just had this email and assume you all will too

Hi MNer

Thanks for being a tester of bettybox with your daughter. It's come to our attention that you've received (or will receive) a box to your address that is addressed to someone that is not your daughter (and may also include the incorrect products).

Huge apologies that this has happened. We've been in touch with bettybox, who have asked us to pass on their apologies and have also informed us that they will be re-sending the boxes out with the correct products and names over the next 1-3 days.

Please get in contact by replying to this email if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

The Mumsnet Insight Team

TopBitchoftheWitches · 05/03/2018 17:11

Who got LB's box??

Dd received BH's box.

RoseDog · 05/03/2018 17:13

I got the email too! Dd is excited about the possibility of 2 boxes!

sissyinthesummertime · 05/03/2018 17:26

So excited was I to get the boxes (nothing exciting happens here) I opened them without checking the names! So, goodness knows if I got the correct ones.

As you can tell we loved the boxes. My youngest daughter (who wasn't the intended recipient) was a lot more keen than the older one. She loved the contents of both boxes. Unfortunately, she has a nut allergy so couldn't eat the chocolates. We were very pleased to see that they were labelled with allergy advice though.

The lip plumper made our lips tingle and didn't show a noticeable difference.

I thought the pink parcel was nicer than the Betty Box. Love the range of sanitary products and the cloth bags to use, instead of just chucking pads/tampons in your bag.

I know the packaging is recyclable, but I would worry about the amount. It seemed excessive.

Also, postman had to knock as didn't fit through the letterbox.

Will try the other products later.

savoyCabbage · 05/03/2018 18:25

DD's box arrived today with with the wrong name. (TW). The box was really battered and was ripped and unfastened.

Dd has enjoyed looking at the contents. She couldn't say the chocolates either as she is anaphylactic to peanuts. She liked the book the most. I love the little bag. I think it's a great idea for school. The fabric is much nicer than the one in my box. Less obvious what's inside and easier to find in a bag.

After a weekend of burst pipes and replacement tyres, it was nice to come home to something nice for a change - although the boxes were left with the neighbour as they didn't fit through the letterbox Smile. Mine had the correct name, whilst DD's was incorrectly addressed to an M.E.

I was actually quite impressed with the contents. The Jelly Pong Pong in the Pink Parcel box is great - fab colour, glides on smoothly and smells beautiful. I also liked the cotton bags - which will be useful for DD for school/sports bags.

Haven't had a chance to try the rest yet - will have a Pink Parcel pampering sesh once the baby is in bed Grin

DD was quite taken with the sweet treats, but the chai latte sachet had her scratching her head a bit Brew

All in all, if I had the disposable income to be able to afford a monthly box for my monthlies, I think I would be tempted!

Countrygirl38 · 05/03/2018 19:53

Both boxes have arrived. Like everyone else's my daughters had the wrong name on it and wouldn't fit through the letter box. We both liked them although the serum was missing from my daughter's box which was a shame.

CamdenTownie · 05/03/2018 19:57

We were lucky enough to be selected for this product test, I received the emails to make the choices and provided delivery choices, I completed both.

A few days later I received an email from Mumsnet asking me to fill in my daughter's details and including a link to the survey monkey page, it also said that if I didn't complete it before the Monday someone else would take our place, when I clicked the link it said I'd already completed the survey - I contacted Mumsnet about this but didn't get a reply.

Neither of us have received any boxes, so I assumed we had missed out due the glitch with details, but today I got the email saying someone else should have s box with my daughters name on it.

Can anyone from Mumsnet confirm if we are or are not part of this product test? Or has any had a box delivered with the initials M.C?

InvisibleUnicorn · 05/03/2018 20:14

Received one incorrectly labelled box that was heavily bashed and squashed into the mail box 🙈

I think the teen will like it though!

Frombothsidesnow · 05/03/2018 20:53

I know I'm sceptical of the concept so you can take this comment with that caveat, but I think the data protection issues here are a big problem. This is an anonymous forum and the company are sharing the personal details, not even of posters, but teenage children. This could be very worrying for some posters. I suspect this sort of thing would cause the company serious trouble under GDPR.

Also, from the clues on here, I know the names of two of your teenagers. Please think about your posting as the code isn't very hard to break!

RubyLennoxExists · 05/03/2018 21:16

I agree "Frombothsidesnow". And to be a complete DP anorak, if they were using MonkeySurvey to collect personal data what steps did they take to ensure the collected data was safe from export outside the EEA? Amongst DP -anoraks- professionals that is a genuine matter of concern.

YesThisIsMe · 05/03/2018 21:22

Is it the teens names or the adults names that have been scrambled and put on the packages I wonder? My initials (but not my DD’s) have turned up on this thread and I’d be surprised if any teenager had the name that was on my DD’s parcel (mildly surprised that any pre-menopausal woman at all has it tbh).

It’s obviously a data protection cockup, but I’m not sure that the particular revelation has dangerous practical implications. You’re just revealing to a random woman somewhere in the UK that somewhere else in the UK there exists a woman/girl with the name Celia Molestrangler who is menstruating and one of the 1 million registered MN users. Obviously if you have reasons to be particularly cautious then stay shtum on this thread, and use a throw-away nickname for feedback.

JugglingMummyof2 · 05/03/2018 21:27

DD1 and I didn't get anything yet - addressed correctly or incorrectly but we did have the email telling us that DD's might have the wrong name on it. Fingers crossed that we both get it tomorrow.

RubyLennoxExists · 05/03/2018 21:39

I do find it ironic though YesThis that part of this org's shtick is that women are embarrassed by buying sanitary products so this service seeks to spare them their feminine blushes at the Tesco check-out by sending out parcels, only to get the names wrong. And that basic error suggests their data security systems are pretty ropey.
And who else are they hating the data with I wonder?
