This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who have been testing brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never* compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Testers, once the products are finished, please answer the below questions as well as leaving any other feedback you have:

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

We’d also love to see some photos of your little one testing My First Savsé cold-pressed baby food, so please share on the thread if you can.

If you’d like to share your experience on social media, please do using the hashtag #myfirstsavse

All testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

Ive never noticed any chilled pet food, that does suprise me.! I wouldnt day that that fact alone would change the way i shop for my children to be honest, but i am always on the look out for fresh baby food anyway.

2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
I waa actually suprised but my child loved all of the flavours and even asked for more! Thats a first for us as getting her to eat savoury purees is quite hit and miss but she really enjoyed them all. All of the sweet ones were a hit as i expected.

3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

To be honest i think they recipes are fine. There are a good range of healthy ingredients which is what i am always on the look out for.

4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

The fact that majority of baby purees are heat pasteurised is what puts me off buying them as the majority of the nutrition is lost this way i just dont see the point. I actually feel guilty giving them to my child as i find them actually quite unhealthy. I love the fact these are so fresh and nutricious and i would definately purchase these when shopping.

5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would. These have actually really impressed me. They are fresh, healthy, full of goodness and my child absolutely loved them, so i would not think twice about recommending them to other mums

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn’t know that chilled pet food was available. I don’t think this will change the way I shop (for my children or my cat!). Our fridge is always full to bursting, so I would prefer to buy them both packets that can be stored in a cupboard.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

DC2 (aged 21 months) loved all of them. DC1 (aged 4) is a real vegetable refuser, and she only liked the pure fruit ones. The favourite was probably the blueberry prune one. I used the carrot, pumpkin and apple one as a pasta sauce, which DC2 loved.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They all have too much apple, and they are all very sweet.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No. We mainly use pouches for convenience, and at times when fresh food would be impractical – day’s out, long car journeys, camping trips etc. I normally carry an ‘emergency’ pouch in the snack bag, which can stay there for a few weeks before it gets eaten. Therefore, the fact that these have to be kept chilled is not ideal for us as it negates the convenience of using a pouch.

We use pouches quite rarely, so the method of pasteurisation doesn’t really bother me, as they are offered plenty of fresh fruit and veg every day.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I might do if they were planning to feed their baby pouches a lot, including when they are at home and not just when they are out and about.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came slot, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

Hadn't realised there was chilled pet food! Probably won't change how I shop for now- as not a wide range of products to choose from so will stick to a brand with a wider offering albeit not chilled

  1. Which was your little one's favourite recipe?

The one with the cocoa

  1. How could MFS improve their recipes? How would you say MFS compares to the current offering of baby food pouches jn supermarkets?

More savoury tastes- everything seemed apple based and quite sweet. Range seemed relatively narrow compared to others on offer

  1. Knowing that MFS is never hear pasturised would you purchase if widely available?

Yes but only if there was a wider range of products but only occasionally as not so practical for taking out and about with needing to keep it chilled

  1. Would you recommend to a friend or family?
Yes as nice flavours but only in conjunction with other products

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? I didn't know this but was interested to discover it and I will look out for chilled baby food when shopping
  2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? Definitely the Pear, Pea, Apple & Spinach. The coconut and cacao also went down well. We couldn't try all the pouches because some of them were out of date when delivered.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? Certainly more veg in the recipes would be good and more texture.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I would purchase the two flavours which my daughter enjoyed.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? I think I would because they just add some variety and are very convenient but I would mention the cost which I think is too high.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I wasn't aware and to be honest looking for baby food in the chilled aisle is not the natural place I would look as this is a product ob its own.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
Blueberry, apple, prune
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I personally really liked the products and so did my baby. He wasn't jeen on the kale one. I think as a food technologist I understand the benefits of cold pressing and so I think this does offer something different. However I am not sure cold pressing is a priority for most mums. I look for no added sugars and colours which most products already offer.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Yes I would. I think heat pasteurisatuin can reduce the nutritional value. I would only use occasionally though as it d predominantly fruit and I prefer giving vegetable ase purees.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Yes and I have done. I think it a good healthy product.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know that, no. In fact, I have only just noticed the chilled pet food that you can now buy. Seems crazy though that chilled pet food came before chilled baby food. It certainly will change the way we shop.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Olivia loved the coconut and cacao one but she did like them all.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

It would be great to see more savoury flavours. It would be nice to see a baby food company not focus on the fruit side so much.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I definitely would if the pouches were more affordable or on special offer. The price for the pouch is much more than I would expect to spend.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I definitely would - they are full of goodness and Olivia loved them BUT the price element would also be a sticking point for my friends and family too

Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
If it was readily I would rather buy fresh yes

2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
The Apple one was my son's favourite
3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes?
I think having some lumps in some as all were purees and most babies after 6 months want some lumps and start to go off purees.
How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Lovelyto have fresh baby food rather than thr bog standard babyfood

4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Definitely as it's fresh and healthier
5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? For sure and I already have recommended it to mum's as the baby groups as they seem fresh and healthy

We’d also love to see some photos of your little one testing My First Savsé cold-pressed baby food, so please share on the thread if you can.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I did not know this. I think I would be now likely to buy a mixture of both chilled and non chilled baby food.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
The cocoa one
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
The food tasted very fresh and homemade. I think offering textured food would be beneficial.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I would buy a mixture of this as well as my normal preferred brand. I need to take price into consideration as we are on a budget.
  2. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? Yes I would, they seemed high quality and my little one enjoyed them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? I had no idea there was chilled pet food! No it is unlikely to change the way I shop
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? Kiwi kale spinach banana and apple
  2. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? Less apple most contained at least 48% apple.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? No too much apple in them and as a result not much variety in flavour.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? No same reason as above

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No, I always serve my son room temperature or warmed food for his main meals

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He particularly enjoyed the coconut and cacao pouch, I think as thus was a completely new taste experience for him

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

My son was only just being weened, at 6 months old, when we tried these, but already he needed more texture. I added some finely chopped fruit and veg to this purée to make it more to my son's taste. The coconut and cacao flavour is something different, and he ate this on its own.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Possibly, if it was on offer at a reduced price.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes, but again, only if it happened to be on special offer.

Thank you.

1.Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No, I wasn't aware of this but to be honest it probably won't change the way I shop.

2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The coconut, cacao, Apple and banana was our favourite!

3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I think they are really good and provide a much wider variety of tastes for little ones. Having apple in all of them obviously still gave the pouch a sweeter taste so they were all really yummy.

4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes, I would. I just feel that they have been made with much more care and babies health in mind

5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes I would because they were delicious and my little one loved them!

GingerIdiot · 30/08/2017 17:43
  1. Yes I did know, and not it wouldn't change the way I shop. I need baby food to keep well and be portable, so this doesn't seem an advantage.
  1. The coconut and cocao one.
  1. They need to be less apple-y and less sweet.
  1. No I wouldn't. They are expensive and the heat pasteurisation doesn't seem to be much of an advantage. They're quite big so we're unlikely to get through a whole one in 12 hours, plus I wouldn't want him to have that much fruit sugar in one go, so a lot would go to waste.
  1. No (sorry). There are better products out there for us - and we haven't used many purées for our 7 month old, going mostly for easy solid foods instead.
FrenchieMummy · 30/08/2017 18:22
  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I thought that other brands already offered chilled food for babies? But I must admit that I am not much aware of it as I cook about 95% of my baby's food. I used this kind of pouches for emergencies or if I can't cook. I will therefore not change the way I shop for my baby.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Definitely the Apple version and the Coconut with Banana as he likes sweet flavours.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I would love to see less sugar in them. However, I liked the combinations offered in the range.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I would not buy My First Savsé. Being heat pasteurised would not be a concern.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Maybe when they start weaning their baby but the price is a bit high for a small pouch. I am better off cooking fruit myself.

amycatem · 30/08/2017 18:32
  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
Possibly yes! Depending on price.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? She liked all of them a lot! Didn't refuse any
  2. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? It seems good...obviously not as big a range as Ella's Kitchen, but that's ok with us and often just stick to the fruit ones anyway.
  3. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? Seems fresher, more vitamins
  4. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? Tasty, fresh, good way to get nutrients to your child.

I keep receiving emails asking for my feedback, so here it is.
I did not receive the product, I sent emails to notify you on a number of occasions, all but one received no reply. The reply I did receive advised the product would be sent, still not received.
However, reading the comments from other testers I am glad I did not receive it, I would have been very upset had this testing made my baby ill.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I don't think dog's food availability is relevant compared to baby food, but I do like the idea of having the chilled option for baby food.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
My baby seemed to enjoy all flavours in a similar way. But yesterday I gave him the one with apple and cucumber kiwi and kale and something else and he ate it all really quickly. I guess he liked it a lot
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Providing a chilled option on baby food, is definitely ppsitive as it is probably providing a fresher option. The only downside is if it doesn't get used and and it's kept out of the fridge, for how long would it be safe to use it or would it be a waste.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
I would definately like to purchase it knowing that there is the option. But in some situations I would prefer the long shelf life just because I would not like to waste them if we are not able to keep the pouch chilled
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Probably yes I think freshness and quality is a good advantage on this food option for baby
Member926140 · 30/08/2017 19:09

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I wasn't aware of chilled pet food since I don't have any pets. However, this won't change the way I shop for my son since I wasn't very impressed with the product.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The cacao pouch.

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

The recipes could be improved by being made less apple-based, as well as less sweet. Most of the pouches have apple as the main ingredient, even when apple is not among the main ingredients advertised at the front of the pouch, which I feel is both disingenuous (if I buy a pouch called kiwi and spinach, I expect it to contain more than 5% kiwi, for example) and unnecessary (babies should also get used to more savory flavors).

I would say it compares badly due to their: 1) very small range of products; 2) lack of savory options, and; 3) inconvenience of having to be stored in the fridge - they can't be left in the nappy bag for outings or in the stroller for an emergency snack, for example.

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No. Although I am quite interested in the idea of cold-pressed food, the reality of it is quite disappointing. I feel the product needed more development and thought put into it before being released into the market.

5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I wouldn't recommend it because of how expensive the pouches are compared to other products on offer in supermarkets, as well as because of the lack of variety and misguiding packaging (apple as main ingredient in most of the pouches even when it's not the selling point, as explained above).

Moreover, being sent a pouch of expired baby food without a proper apology really lowered my opinion of the company.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I did know about chilled pet food but hadn't really thought about chilled baby food until these ones. The fact that this food was chilled was quite appealing but I am not sure it would change the way I shop completely.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
He ate all of them very happily but probably the kiwi and cucumber one.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
The food is quite runny which makes it a challenge to feed as it runs off the spoon. When I make puree at home it tends to be a bit thicker. I, like many other posters, would rather some more savoury dishes although I do not think this just a problem with My First Savse as many of the competitors use a lot of sweet vegetables in their savoury options. Pouches that do not require refigeration are handy for the store cupboard (just in case) and when out and about but I would feel good about offering these to my baby at home too. I make purees myself but do find it hard to get a good variety when babies are at the initial weaning stage as the portions are so small.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
The idea of more nutrients of course appeals to me but I am more sold on the idea of the products being fresh. That said, these also seem to have quite a long shelf life for a 'fresh' product.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I would recommend it as a change to the samey flavours on offer elsewhere but I think the price point and being unsure of just how much 'fresher' they are would make me less likely to rave about them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
No I had no idea chilled pet food existed. I always shop online, so I don't browse the aisles, but I will definitely be on the lookout for chilled baby food in the future.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
Unfortunately my L.O did not try the coconut one as I have a severe coconut allergy, so I could not handle this one and we do not know yet if L.O will suffer with the same allergy. So I didn't want to risk it! But the favourite was, hands down, the blueberry, prune, plum, apple and banana.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Not sure how they could improve, but would love to see more flavours. I like that they have experimented with lots of fruit and veg and I really like that the manufacturing process means that more of the nutrients stay in the foods. It really sets them apart from others.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Yes! As above; they seem more nutritious, healthy and fresher. However I would want to research a little more into the process and how the ingredients are cleaned first (I always scrub fruit and veg before puréeing it at home to remove any germs) so I'd like to know if this is the same for Savsé seeing as they don't heat the ingredients.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Yes, I really find the manufacturing process appealing in regards to keeping more of the nutrients in the foods; it feels like a much healthier option and I'm really grateful to have had the chance to test them. Thank you

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I did know that there was chilled pet food but not baby food however I would never think to look in a chilled section for this, so I doubt that my shopping habits will change because of it.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

I can't really tell which of the 5 we received/were in date were a particular favourite and about the same in each pouch was eaten.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I thought the consistency was quite runny - especially for an 8 month old. Also very fruit based.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

As they are more fruit based and sweet, I wouldn't really buy these for my baby as meals, unless they were as part of a special offer that competed with current supermarket brands.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

For reasons above, ie lack of savoury options, price and consistency, I wouldn't recommend this product as it is currently marketed.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? We were not aware that there was chilled pet food but not chilled baby food. It will certainly encourage us to look more closely in the chilled section for baby food.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? I have to be honest he ate the whole lot of every pouch, so it's difficult to say which was his favourite. He honestly loved them all. Our least favourite was the beetroot but this is purely because of the mess he made with it.
  2. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? We loved the variety of ingredients in the pouches. Only criticism being that the majority were fruit or sweet based rather than savoury. Compared to other pouches we have seen or used in the past the main difference I could see was with the ingredients. My First Savsè offered a lot more unusual ingredients compared to the same usual ingredients and flavours you normally see.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? If these pouches were readily available and at a lower retail price we would consider buying a few as a treat rather than for his every meal. We like to make all our food and meals from scratch so the cost per pouch is very off putting. Saying that if money want an issue and it was available we would most likely buy these for snack rather than a main meal.
  2. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? We definitely would recommend the product to our friends and family. However, from discussions we've had they are or a similar opinion that the price is too high.

Extra: My overall thoughts on this product is that I loved the taste, the ingredients and the fact they are cold pressed is a bonus. Knowing that they were fresh and natural definitely took away the guilt of feeding my baby pouches. I thought the packaging was nice and appealing also.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? No as we make most baby food ourself (and freeze) and use pouches when we are out and about. You can't take these out easily!
  2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
The one with beetroot I remember seemed to go down best!
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? Less fruit please and more savoury flavours. It's easy to get kids to eat fruit but it's also important to get them used to savoury and not spoil their pallet with fruit.
  2. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I'd purchase sometimes but not all the time.
  3. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? Yes, it's nice if you have a busy lifestyle and prepared to pay the premium price.

Nope, it would not make a difference in how I shop.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

She liked all of them all but her favourite was the cocoa one!

Would like to see savoury pouches rather than just fruit ones. Also make smaller pouches as my lo never finished it in 12 hours as I only have them after her meals.

Some of the pouches had apples as their main ingredient, would have liked to see more variety of fruit other than apples.

Would like to see some lumpy fruit in it too.

Yes as a treat and if they're on offer. But as I'm out and about, I would mostly use babease or Ella's pouches as they are easier to carry around.

My lo loves these and I never have these to replace a meal, but more for a dessert or with porridge so I'd buy them again as a treat as they are expensive.

But having read other people's comments and their babies getting sick and stomach aches, I probably would not recommend them to my friends.

I am however grateful that I was given the chance to try these as I don't think I would have bought them otherwise.
