This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who have been testing brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never* compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Testers, once the products are finished, please answer the below questions as well as leaving any other feedback you have:

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

We’d also love to see some photos of your little one testing My First Savsé cold-pressed baby food, so please share on the thread if you can.

If you’d like to share your experience on social media, please do using the hashtag #myfirstsavse

All testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know that there was no fresh pouches available. This won't change the way I shop as I tend to make all my own food but I do like pouches for days out or travelling.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? My DD appeared to like all of them, there wasn't any that she turned her nose up at and happily ate all of them
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
There are a lot of pouches/ ready made baby food available but the fact these are fresh make them different but having different stages available with more thickness and different textures would be good.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I dont think this would sway my decision to purchase the food. The price that the pouches retail at is quite high and I would probably only purchase if they were on offer or I was in need of picked for travelling.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I would recommend them based on how my DD ate them and seemed to enjoy the taste. I wouldn't recommend them on the price as I feel this is quite high and is quite a big factor

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I did not know that there was chilled pet food but no chilled baby food. This will not change the way I shop (either for my baby or my cat!)

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

She wasn't particularly keen on any of them but the one with beetroot in was probably her "favourite".

The butternut squash pouch which we were delivered was out of date and we weren't sent a replacement or voucher so can't comment on that pouch

  1. Would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

The flavours are too "samey". I tasted them all and they were predominantly apple or banana. The consistency of the pouches is too runny which makes it difficult to feed and too easy for a young baby to allow it to pour straight back out of their mouth. The flavour combinations sounded more exciting than other brands available but I didn't think they tasted as good as they sounded.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

The flavours and textures of the pouches put me off wanting to buy them again. The fact that they have to be kept in the fridge makes them less convenient than other brands. As I only use pouches outside the home their method of storage is important

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Based on my experience of the taste and texture of the pouches and the fact my daughter was not particularly keen on them I would not recommend them.

I was excited to try these pouches and really want to like them so I was disappointed.

To end on a positive I liked that the packaging was partly transparent so you could see the product before you opened it and didn't get any shocks with the colour of the puree

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No I didn't know this - I hadn't really thought about it. It probably won't change the way I shop.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
The one with coconut in was different.

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Label the pouches more clearly....eg the Cucumber, Kiwi, Kale, Spinach, Apple and Banana is much more apple than anything else! They shoudl list the ingredients in order to be less misleading. I think that the pouches are too fruit heavy, and some of the flavour combos are a bit weird, and difficult to add to things like porridge.

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Almost definitey not if I'm honest - they are way too expensive and to me - totally defeat the whole point of pouches! I want to use pouches when I'm out, busy, or find the cupboards bare. I want to keep pouches in my changing bag, in the cupboards, and be able to take them out for the day. The short shelf life, fact you have to keep them chilled seems totally against the whole point! Why pay so much a pouch when you can only really use it at home?

5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Unfortunately not, for the reasons mentioned above - the pouches are not user friendly enough.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I was aware that chilled dog food is available in Tescos. Unfortunately no I don't think that this will change the way I shop for my child. I have used pouched food in order to introduce a range of meat based foods I am unable to eat.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? The Pear, Pea, Apple and Spinach pouch.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I think Savśe are a niche product in that firstly it's an expensive item, additionally the main selling point of it being cold pressed results in having a short shelf life once opened mean that I wouldn't rely on it as a go to convenient product.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? No I don't think that I would.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? No I wouldn't for the reasons above.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
  • To be honest I wasn't even aware there were chilled pet food let alone chilled baby food until this trial. It still wouldn't change the way I buy for my little girl.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
  • She finished all the pouches and there wasn't one she didn't like or dislike. I had a sneaky taste at them all and didn't really fancy most of them but that's just me as an adult tasting these.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
  • I personally don't think it really matters to my little one but obviously as a parent you do want the best for your child. Due to the fact this is a chilled product that you can't really take out on the go doesn't really buy it for me.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
  • The price is really dear I think after checking it out in Morrison so I definitely would not buy.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
  • After trying it out I do not think i would buy or even recommend but I might mention it if some friend or family member is looking for this particular item. It just doesn't have the appealing factor to me. Cost is the major factor.
yasmin0147 · 31/08/2017 00:12

1.I don't know whether I'd buy it in the shops unless it was a hot day, or I was getting a snack for myself as well and happened to stumble across it.
2.Coconut cacao, apple and banana was the favourite
I think their recipes are ok, but I noticed everything had apple with it, even the spinach one, which was a bit weird
3.Not if it was too expensive but if it was with the lunch snacks in a supermarket I'd probably pick it up

  1. I would recommend it if it was widely available but if not it's not worse the extra trek for.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know there was chilled pet food let alone baby food! I do occasionally buy pouches and knowing he enjoyed the my first savse range I would consider buying them again, though not specifically because they're chilled.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
He loved the one with cocoa in
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
More savoury and meat/fish options. I felt the pouches weren't filling enough as a main meal once you get past the initial weaning stage.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
I wouldn't purchase it because of the fact it's cold pressed but more for the fact my son really liked them. I do think they're more expensive than alternatives so would only purchase for an occasional treat.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Yes based on our experience but would exercise caution as I understand other testers' babies reacted badly
sukubus1980 · 31/08/2017 00:54

1 i think there are other brands present too apart from this was making chilled food for children? Do you mean that Savse was first?

2 Favourite - all the fruity but banana-apple would be the winner. Not so keen of veggies though

3 I think offer is good enough and they have to specialise in something. Fruits and veggies are always good choice. Maybe more crazy mixtures?

4 market is full of offers similar to this company and lets be honest price is high so I am not sure if I would keep buying them. We make smoothies home and they are all fresh and full of goodness

5 I think I would recommend them along other similar companies as in my opinion they font do enough to win in this market of chilled baby food

  1. No, absolutely will always look for more fresh products.
  1. He loved them all - but always loves fruity flavours most.
  1. Keep offering different flavour combos - good mix of savoury and sweet. Love the ones with veg not often used in!
  1. Yes, it's good piece of mind that baby gets good on the go food.
  1. Yes because it offers all the right ingredients and principles a healthy diet should

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know this. I tend to only use pouches for meals out of the house so chilled ones aren't really useful for that, so it probably won't change what I do.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He enjoyed all of them (I've yet to find anything he won't eat!)

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

There's a lot of apple in them all, as with a lot of baby foods. I liked the beetroot one, it was visually different to other baby foods out there. There were a lot of different flavours that aren't currently seen.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I might buy them on offer, but as I tend to feed homemade I would worry that I wouldn't get round to using them up before their use by, whereas I'm happy to keep ones in the cupboard just in case.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would certainly say to try them, there were no negative side effects and he ate them happily.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know. It didn't change the way I'm shopping

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He like the coconut one, but the pear, spinach and pea one was the least favourite

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Well, it didn't change anything, it was just like any other pouches

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

It is too expensive. I got very hungry boy so the little pouch it just for snack

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would ,just because of variety of flavours

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
No, I didn't know this. I don't think it will change the way I shop, however I am likely to be making more myself now that I know how the long life food is made.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
100% Apple
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
All of the recipes relied heavily on apple, all of the pouches tasted very similar. I think you should try making something that tastes lovely that is savoury, or at the very least not packed out with apple. Lots of the more healthy kids meals these days are trying to include 'trendy' foods (kale, cacao, quinoa etc) and not enough focused on basic staples that families eat all the time.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Please see answer for question 1. I'd maybe purchase in a rush but am now more likely to make my own because of Heat pasteurisation.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Potentially I would recommend if the flavour was improved.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
No I wasn't aware but I don't think it will change my shopping habits knowing that it is available now.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
They enjoyed the one with kiwi but were a bit apprehensive at first. The puree is thin compared to what they are used to so bit tricky to eat.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I'm happy with sweet and savoury combinations but I would like to see more less sweet options as I tend to give them more savoury foods as opposed to sweet. Also something that has more lumps would be great, I would say these pouches are more for weaning than established feeding. I don't generally buy pouches but when I do it purely for convienence purposes when travelling and this is lost by way of the pouches needing to be kept cold.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
No, I wouldn't buy just for this reason as I'm not aware of any health benefits of not heat pasturising. I don't follow food fads like clean eating etc and I have a feeling that these pouches are jumping on that bandwagon.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I would tell friends who are weaning about them but at the price point that they are at I would expect not many people to use them. I think they are expensive for what they are and unfortunately I was also put off from trying the whole batch due to the severely negative comments on here. I mixed the last two into meals that I had made them by myself and they were eaten that way.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know this but no it wouldn't change the way I shop. The shelf life is very short and we don't use full pouches at a time.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The Caoca one had the best reaction but even that wasn't great. They are very liquid.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I think the product is too watery and the flavours are bizarre. I always try the food before feeding it as I wouldn't expect him to eat something I wouldn't eat and they were very odd tasting. It doesn't really compare, these are more a snack time treat than food I would say.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No I wouldn't buy it again for my son (6 Months) however My 2 year old enjoyed them as a smoothie as a treat. So if they were in a "grab a bite" type stand with sandwiches etc I would buy her one then.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No. They are far to concentrated for little tummys and I personally don't think an appropriate first food especially being mainly fruit when Veg is the recommended first foods. They gave my son a very unsettled night after eating it and an explosive nappy the next day (No allergies)

kittensmum82 · 31/08/2017 10:58

.Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food?
I didn't know this having never looked for chilled pet food, but to be honest usually make my own food and use pouches when I'm out and about.

Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

Not per se, I might buy it if on offer as a backup option but needing to keep it chilled makes it less convenient to take out.

2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The blueberry one

3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

My one reflection is that all recipes were so heavily apple based, some of the names seemed a bit dishonest, they all should have read apple and (other ingredients ) I know that's not uncommon with baby food but given that this is advertised as being with a difference I was disappointed

4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Possibly for the right price

5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Maybe, the price is quite high and less convenient that 'normal' pouches

TeaIsTheCure · 31/08/2017 12:03
  1. I wasn't aware but I think the fact that they are chilled is an inconvenience (can't use them while out and go off quicker) so wouldn't be a selling point to me.
  2. My baby's favourite was the coconut and cacao but she did also enjoy the beetroot and kale ones - probably because they are sweeter than the normal vegetable purees I give her. The lentil one smelt really smoky and baby wasn't keen although I didn't check the date on it so maybe it was out of date!
  3. Too sweet in general - no solely savoury combinations were available and they are a little too runny for easy feeding (my little one is 8 months). They are probably better aimed at those starting weaning as I think the combinations are different compared to other first weaning pouches available.
  4. I did like the fact that they weren't pasteurised as they smelt fresher (to me). I have bought the coconut and cacao one a number of times since as a dessert option as she liked it so much.
  5. I don't think they stand out enough to warrant the higher price tag so I'm not sure I'd recommend them as a total alternative to other pouches - however they are nice treats so would say they were worth a try.

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I don't have any pets, so I wasn't aware. I don't think it will change the way I shop.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My Little One's favourite was Pear, pea, apple & spinnach.

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

It's definitely better than most popular brands, mostly because of variety of taste in one meal.

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I think I would buy it from time to time, I like the idea.

5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would definitely recommend it, as the taste is great, the texture is good, variety of taste is fine. Even if price is higher than other, it is worth buying from time to time.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
It won't because unfortunately I didn't find it very convienient having to keep the pouches chilled
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
She didn't really have a favourite
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
More vegetable based recipes. They're all very sweet and not really a lunch or dinner.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
No because my daughter is now coming up to a year old and I didn't find it easy keeping the pouches cool while out and about.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
No because I think there are other baby foods with a wider range of flavours that are easier to take out with you and don't need to be kept chilled.

We used them to add to plain porridge in the mornings and as a snack but they were all a bit sweet for a lunch or dinner.

1.Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I Didn't know, no. We're moving on a bit from purees now, though so it wouldn't change how I shop.
2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
They all went down miraculously well, even the kale one!
3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes?
My daughter loved them all but I think they'd have been easier to feed if a little thicker.
4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I would definitely buy it if I needed baby food again.
5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? I would - my daughter loved them! The dates were quite short though so I'd be worried about not using them quickly enough.

heyheybaby · 31/08/2017 17:53

When we received the product my DH was a little shocked thinking I had ordered baby food online and I had lost my mind, I forgot to tell him as I didn't get an email till after the products arrived.

I have read previous posters issue about the product however, my experience was completely different they arrived in dry ice and were lovely and cold, all in date.

My daughter just couldn't get enough of them, I really struggle sometimes to get her to take things that she hasn't has before but with the first spoon full she was hooked. We tried lots of different ways of having them: out of the pack, in a bowl and on a spoon she even had a go at feeding herself.

She didn't have a favourite she gobbled them all up equally as quick.

I like how you can see through the pack when you hold it up so you know if there's any left.

My daughter is 10 months old so for a proper meal they were a bit lacking and she was still hungry but if the came with older ones with lumps in I would 100% buy them for main meals but just as a purée great for a snack.

I also found them in my local boots after we started the trail and brought a few more as she enjoyed them at 3pm or as a dessert.

  1. I was unaware of any chilled baby food until taking part in this trial. I don't think it will change my shopping habits.
  1. My daughter liked the cucumber, kiwi, kale, spinach, apple and banana. It was refreshing to see that baby food could be such a vibrant colour.
  1. I feel that some of the purees could be a little thicker. My daughter found them a bit too runny and they were a bit messier than our homemade food. I also feel some more savoury options would be good as every flavour seemed sweet to me.
  1. Yes I would purchase it if it were widely available. It's nice that it's not full of rubbish and that it has a sell by date in the same year that you purchase it in.
  1. Yes I would. The unique flavour combinations are a strong selling point and I love the fact that they're cold pressed to keep in goodness.

Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I was no aware of this as I haven't given my little one pre made baby food, I don't think it will change the way I shop for baby food.
Which was my baby's favourite one
She liked the apples one, and the kiwi and kale one, we were supposed to get a replacement for the lentils one but didn't one so cannot review that one.
How could my first savse improve their recipe? How does it compare to other products?
The coconut and cacao recipe was a bit too strong my little one wasn't a fan of that one.
It's nicer to know you are giving fresher food to them with no chemicals in them.
4 Knowing they are not heat pasturised doesn't really change my opinion of them the main concern for me is to feed my child nutritious food.
5 would you recommend the product?
I would recommend them to other people as they are flavoursome and nutritious

Flavours very similar, my children weren't keen on the ones containing vegetables though

No, doesn't make any difference to me

I didn't know that but it won't really change the way I shop.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
She seemed to enjoy the blueberry and prune one as well as the lentil one, the lentil one was actually quite tasty for baby food and I mixed it with red lentils and carrots and served with mash for a cheats veggie shepherds pie.

I found them all really sweet, even the more vegetable based ones. The way the ingredients are listed on the front are somewhat misleading in my opinion given that apple seems to be the main ingredient in each of them and you can definitely taste that. I'd say that they are similar to other son the market really, I suppose Ella's Kitchen is the most obvious alternative though I rarely buy purees, I usually buy them to mix into other things.

I may buy them but knowing that if I take them out of the fridge I'd have to use them that day is a little off putting, and as DD was only having small amounts of each pouch I ended up wasting a lot if I didn't throw the remainder into pancakes or something else I was making or if I didn't give the remainder to my pets as a treat (though it would be an expensive treat for them!)

Maybe, if they were specifically curious and wanted to try something sweeter then I'd mention them but I wouldn't go out of my way to talk about them.
