This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

  1. How easy or difficult did you find Cook4Me Connect to use?
  2. Which recipes did you try? What did you think of them?
  3. What were your thoughts on the cooking results of the Cook4Me Connect?
  4. Would you recommend the Cook4Me Connect?

All who give their required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Non-testers, please answer the below question. All non-testers who answer the below question will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  • Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Thanks and good luck!

I would love to cook a yummy lamb casserole but I am not sure how long to cook it for.

ladygoingGaga · 28/10/2017 13:41

I would definitely try a risotto, it is the one dish I have not mastered yet. Probably because traditionally it needs stirring, and adding of stock all the time. When I have tried in the past it invariably turns out a disaster due to becoming distracted by the DC cries of help in homework, or finding PE socks!

This sounds like the answer, reading reviews with interest.

Thirdload · 28/10/2017 20:14

Non tester. I'd like to try making taco chicken, I bet it'd be great.

A Real winter stew. My grandma use to use a huge pressure cooker but I've never ever made one. With winter here, I always crave stew but never get one

Angelfaced · 01/11/2017 11:06

Non tester here!😀

Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me? Yes I would love to try cooking a risotto as I've never dared but see you have recipe on your Cook4Me webite for butterbut squash risotto which sounds amazing and great also as we are trying to have some meat free days for health reason's.

I've just seen on your Cook4Me website that you have a 50%off for mumsnet at thr moment so Im going to have to purchase one of these now as working and having 2 children it will be a godsend. Love the idea of the App and also that my eldear could cook a meal for me safely without me having to worry 😊

this looks astonishing. I've never really understood why pressure cooking is faster - but it sounds like magic!

I've never dared cook risotto a second time as I tried once 12 years ago and the rice stuck on and burned, and I had to throw a v expensive pan away. I would try it in this!!

My old slow cooker always tastes really 'institutional' or like a vegetable sludge... this Cook4Me sounds awesome. The screen shows you recipes?? That's very cool. Great idea. And so fast!! I love curries, and would be able to be a bit more adventurous with this, would love to try a lamb biriyani or something...

Lilmisskittykat · 01/11/2017 13:09

I saw this on ideal world a few nights ago and I really want one.

It’s looked so easy and I think it would really inspire and shake up meal times. I’m not very adventurous at all but I’m keen to get one as soon as I get my house!

I love pea and ham hock soup and would love to cook something like that quickly as making it sounds like a real faff.

pestov · 01/11/2017 15:46

Non tester - can you believe I’ve never made risotto? Doesn’t help that DH is not a fan and looks too faffy.

Fleur78 · 01/11/2017 20:59

As a non tester I’d love to try cooking a paella 🥘

Hollieh89 · 01/11/2017 22:55

non-tester I would love to make different flavoured porridge for me and our 2 daughters each morning, especially with winter arriving

goodomens830 · 06/11/2017 15:49

Non tester - Never been brave enough to try a roast joint! Roast beef I've heard is lovely

Belo · 08/11/2017 12:30

Tester here - Mumsnet, I don't know if you're still passing feedback onto Tefal? If you are, please can you ask them for some new recipes? The app has been updated twice since I received the product but not a single new recipe appears to have been added. It would be great if they could add a couple of new ones each month. I'm now bored with all the pre-loaded recipes so I've been inventing my own and finding ones on pinterest. BUT, my husband will only follow exact recipes as he is not a confident cook. He has now given up on the Tefal recipes and has stopped using it!

Sasstal67 · 08/11/2017 13:35

Non tester - If I had a Cook4me I would definitely try a risotto. Due to chronic pain issues I can't stand for the duration of time it takes to stir a risotto to fruition. This sounds like the perfect answer for people with mobility issues.

Nikx85 · 10/11/2017 16:55

Non tester. I would do a slow.cooked pulled pork. The best i have ever tasted was from a slow cooker. I do mine in the oven on low but it never tastes as good!

Winningbeauty · 14/11/2017 15:41

Definitely risotto, for the life of me I can never get this right! Either a thick stodgy mess or crunchy

BadlyWrittenPoem · 17/11/2017 19:34

Non tester. I would like to make the pesto chicken risotto.

VilootShesCute · 27/11/2017 19:07

Non tester. I'd like to cook a joint of beef in it. I'm rubbish at roasts.

allibaby · 29/11/2017 23:18

I would love to try Paella. I've always been to scared to try as my mum used to make the most amazing Paella but I'm scared mine will turn out rubbish.

Rachya · 30/11/2017 17:03

Non tester/ I would love to make chicken curry in the Tefal cook for me connect xx

Akira1218 · 02/12/2017 10:21

As a non tester I'd love to try this product out. I definitely have many recipes I've not had time to make with running after the kids so I'd love to be able to.

KandJblog · 02/12/2017 18:30

Non-tester I’ve always wanted to be able to make really good breaded chicken fillets

LovelyBranches · 02/12/2017 23:42

I would love to make a chicken tikka masala. It’s my favourite curry and I order it every time we have a takeaway, it would be lovely to make it at home and know exactly what is going into it.

cathwarbur · 03/12/2017 22:49

Sound perfect for the working or busy mum. I would like one of these myself, the recipes people were trying sounded so delicious!

JennyWreny · 06/12/2017 14:37

Non-tester - I would definitely like to make soup! Lots and lots of soup!

frowner · 08/12/2017 21:23
