This is the feedback thread for the 30 Mumsnetters who have been testing the Tefal one-pot digital cooker Cook4Me Connect (RRP £319.99).

Here’s what Tefal have to say about the product: “You don’t need to be a masterchef to achieve delicious meals in no time! Tefal have innovated again, and now give you Cook4Me.

Cook4Me is a one-pot digital cooker, ideal for parents looking to make fast and fresh meals:
- It is easy to use and intuitive: Cook4Me comes with 50 built-in recipes, and features a digital screen with guided cooking steps.
- Cook4Me cooks under pressure, which means you will save a lot of time. For example, after browning and pre-heating, it cooks a Chicken Tikka Masala in 3 minutes, a Thai Green Chicken curry in 4 minutes and a Risotto in 9 minutes (and no need to stir!)…
- It is the ideal all-in-one cooker, with up to 6 cooking manual modes: not only does it pressure cook, but it also steams, browns, simmers, gentle-cooks and automatically keeps your food warm. Its dishwasher-safe bowl can feed 6 people, perfect for the whole family or for batch-cooking.

Cook4Me comes in a standard version, with 50 built-in recipes (RRP is £269.99), and in a Connected version, that works with My Cook4Me app, giving access to over 100 recipes (RRP is £319.99).”

Testers, please ensure that you’ve tested the digital cooker using both the recipes and the manual/ingredients modes and then give your feedback by answering the following questions as well as completing the survey we will email to you.

Non-testers, please answer the below question. All non-testers who answer the below question will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  • Is there a recipe you’ve never dared to cook and would really like to be able to make in the Cook4Me?

Thanks and good luck!

Non tester - a risotto. I have never been quite brave enough to try cooking a risotto, it has such a strong reputation for being tricky to get right.

A lovely rich hearty stew!
I'm not a massive cook, not adventurous and rarely have the time to cook something 'proper' but I imagine a slow cooked stew would be delish!

Holliewantstobehot · 07/10/2017 00:03

Non tester. Would have to make the bacon and leek risotto, the greek lamb and the meatballs. DS loves meatballs. My mum used to have a pressure cooker and I was terrified it would explode! Sounds like this is foolproof.

I'd love to make stew. As pp have said my mum used to have a pressure cooker and she'd make incredible stews in it. I've always been to scared to use a pressure cooker but this sounds so easy and safe to use.

I'd use it to make a risotto. I tried it once before but it was a disaster!
Even the dog wasn't keen.

Non-tester : I'd love to gave a go at beef stroganoff. I can make a lot of things but I'm always a bit scared of this being tough. I feel like it would be a bit easier in this!!!

I just searched up different recipes. I would definitely cook lamb shank in this! I can't believe it cooks so many different things and so well. This machine is definitely multi talented and great for busy mums. This would be perfect to use when I get in from work at 6pm meaning I could eat healthy quick meals. If I won the voucher I would invest in one of these for when I go back to work in January!!

Yum! Non tester here, drooling st the food whilst I'm meant to be dieting.. I would love to attempt pulled pork :-)

HALA · 13/10/2017 19:56

(non tester) I would love to try the butternut squash risotto - I have never had the courage to do butternut as it looks very hard, but it tastes delicious when I have eaten it at restaurants.

Would love to try any type of rissotto as mine always ends up like glue!

feejee · 17/10/2017 10:12

non-tester: id like to attempt what my mum used to make us as kids, a pasta and mince dish which she made in her pressure cooker. I remember hearing the whistle blowing meant it was mince pasta and beans night.

Natsai1 · 17/10/2017 19:17

Non tester: oxtail stew. To make it really tender so that it falls off the bone. Never tried it as wasn’t confident that I would achieve the results

debjani · 18/10/2017 08:03

(non tester) - any indian recipes my mother used to make with the help of her pressure cooker during my childhood in the 70s and 80s especially lamb curry and lentil dhal.

Gazelda · 18/10/2017 08:05

Non tester - a risotto. Always been afraid of mucking it up.

BigGreenOlives · 19/10/2017 21:58

I love chocolate and chocolate molten middle puddings but I’ve never tried to make them. I’d love to have the confidence to try.

Babyaddicted · 20/10/2017 10:58

Non tester. Risotto! I love risotto so much! I fail every single time at making risotto in a pan and iv heard making it in this is fool proof. Although, even though I'm a fool I'd probably still fail at it

Lamb shank that falls off the bone. Don’t have the guts to do it in my current very basic slow cooker in case ruin it. Xx

WelshMumof1 · 21/10/2017 08:51

Non tester - I've always wanted to cook risottos but have never taken the plunge and worry about clean up too. I also struggle to stand for long times over the cooker. It looks a lot easier with the Cook4Me.

fei0131 · 24/10/2017 17:35

Non tester. I'd love to try a Moroccan tagine in this cooker.

Georgiamh84 · 24/10/2017 20:34

Non-tester:
I'd love to try slow cooked/pulled pork in this cooker. I never trust leaving my oven on and going out (t wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't worried about the dog being stuck in the house while it's on fire!) but with this, it feels like you could carry on about your day safely.

daniel1996 · 25/10/2017 14:30

Non-tester - would love to try goat curry. I have heard it is delicious but very difficult to cook and stay moist. A slow cooker sounds just right.

Bee70 · 25/10/2017 18:54

non-tester: I have never been able to make anything like spotted dick or christmas pudding, as you need to have a pressure cooker or someway of hovering them over hot water. I love these puddings too, and I have always wanted to try making them. This looks like it would be perfect for the job!
I do have a cheap slow cooker and love making stews and casseroles in it

Cosmia · 26/10/2017 11:47

Non tester- I would love to make a beef stew with proper dumplings! A really hearty winter warmer to come home to.

jumie · 26/10/2017 12:13

Non tester- I would like to try a thai green curry. The short cook time is perfect for me as a busy mum.
