This is the feedback thread for those MNers who tested ScreenLimit parental control app.

Here’s what ScreenLimit has to say about the app:

“ScreenLimit is a parental control app that allows parents to remotely manage their children's screen time from a smartphone, tablet or web browser on any computer.

It works on multiple devices, cross platform on Windows PCs and laptops along with iPhones, iPads, Android and Amazon devices (not Kindle Fire Kids Edition).

Parents can set a daily time allowance, instantly block access to sites, schedule times of the day when devices cannot be used, allow or block specific apps (not iOS), send their children direct messages and reward them for good behaviour. The innovative, built-in rewards function gives children the chance to earn ‘bonus’ screen time in exchange for completing tasks and household chores.

We’re a small team of dedicated parents with a mission to ensure children have a balanced childhood. If you have any issues we’re here to help and will respond quickly! Simply drop us an email at [email protected]

Testers: please answer the following questions:
• Do you think ScreenLimit could be useful for parents to manage screen time?
• How user-friendly did you find ScreenLimit?
• What did you think about the rewards system?
• What does ScreenLimit do really well?
• Are there any other features that you would like to see?

Please also add a review of the app in the Mumsnet reviews section

Everyone who leaves feedback on this thread and fills in the feedback survey will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £200 voucher from the store of your choice.

NON TESTERS If you’re not testing, but would like the chance to win a £200 voucher for the store of your choice, please answer the following question by sharing your reply in the feedback thread below:

What app is the most used/misused by your children?

Thanks! And Good Luck with the prize draw!

Non-Tester - You Tube - both used positively and misused

sophiefx · 03/06/2017 19:40

Non tester
At the moment my little one seems to know how to get on the camera and taking pictures. After she's finished I end up with around 15 pictures of her nose and the carpet! Delightful!

CharleyYpres · 03/06/2017 20:05

Non-tester: funnily enough it's a cashback app! He is forever looking on it while we're in the supermarket hunting for bargains. He hasn't quite got the hang of it not being a bargain if it's something we wouldn't usually buy though

pongopig · 03/06/2017 20:06

Non-tester - yes, YouTube. It's used every day (would be all day every day if they got the chance)

littleme96 · 03/06/2017 20:06

Non-tester. My children use the Lego Harry Potter game the most and I have to limit the time they are allowed on it.

arat · 03/06/2017 20:07

Non-tester - agreeing with the majority, YouTube.

I can see some point of things like Minecraft, but watching endless videos of others playing it is beyond me!

freefan · 03/06/2017 20:15

Non-tester, Kids use a lot of kids you tube and whatsapp is very over used

glennamy · 03/06/2017 20:32

Non-tester: ED is on SIMS or Youtube for as long as you let her...

Rae1000 · 03/06/2017 20:45

I am a non tester & my kids most used app is city car driving. My daughter loves it!!!

maryandbuzz1 · 03/06/2017 20:49

Non tester- My son is always on Twitter! It is the most used and drives me mad.

starryskies78 · 03/06/2017 20:52

I'm a non-tester You Tube Kids here for us absolutely by our 4 yr old boy. I'm surprised, and secretly relieved that a lot of other families have this problem!!!

shellywkd · 03/06/2017 20:54

Non-Tester Definitely YouTube my daughter is a massive Sung Life fan

MrsDramaQueen · 03/06/2017 21:16

I would say facebook. Kids are always on it, and if they have a falling out with someone, it's posted all over the site. Plus if a child is being bullied at school it carries on when they get home on the social media site.

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 03/06/2017 21:16

Non tester. The app that's most used by DS is either the angry birds game or the BBC iPlayer. He's very likely to sneakily watch extra episodes of danger mouse if I'm not careful.

pfcpompeysarah · 03/06/2017 21:22

Non-tester: Either Youtube or Netflix... mostly youtube though. I often talk about how when I was younger we idolised pop stars or tv actors, now the kids look up to people like DanTDM in the same way, things have really changed with regards to technology. Netflix is amazing too for both of us, to be able to pick something to watch at the drop of a hat is great, a lifesaver for keeping my son out of mischief and stopping him complaining that he is bored, despite having an xbox, sky tv, ipad, phone etc etc, I tell him try having a tv with just 3 channels like I did when I was a kid!!

Flickabella36 · 03/06/2017 21:25

Definitely YouTube! Everyone loves to watch other people play video games!

twinklenicci · 03/06/2017 21:26

My youngest likes the tiny pop app, although as she is only 3 i don't allow her to spend much time on it.

Theimpossiblegirl · 03/06/2017 21:33

Non-tester

DD1 is 15 and her most used app is Snapchat.

DD2 is 14 and her most used app is YouTube.

DSD and DSS are 7 and both love YouTube and Minecraft equally.

mummysmellsofsick · 03/06/2017 21:41

Non tester: YouTube

LeeR1985 · 03/06/2017 21:49

Non Tester. My daughter uses youtube more than anything and loves watching "CookieSwirlC" and other youtube personalities playing with toys and doing unboxing videos.

CecilyValentine · 03/06/2017 21:49

Non tester

Most used is number jacks and misused is temple run.

Pipstarz41 · 03/06/2017 22:08

Non-tester, another one for YouTube! Not surprisingly. Watching kids videos that I don't always trust and I don't like how they line up the next video even though it will be made by somebody different and therefore not age suitable.

KittyKat88 · 03/06/2017 23:04

NON TESTER - I have two DDs aged 4 & 6. Their most used App is Cbeebies or Disney Junior. The App most misused is YouTube!

feeona123 · 03/06/2017 23:10

I'm a non tester:

What app is the most used/misused by your children?

You tube! My little girl watches the most random stuff on there. I do have to keep an eye on what she watches but it's mainly videos of soft play!

Narnianescape · 03/06/2017 23:30

My daughters are obsessed with HairSalon me
