We have been asked by the team at Hellmann’s to find 250 MNers to try their latest Hellmann’s Tomato Ketchup Sweetened only with Honey.

This is open to all UK MNers with at least one child at home. (see link above for ingredients).

Hellmann’s say “Hellmann’s Ketchup sweetened only with Honey. An all-natural recipe offering parents more of the ingredients they want, and less of the ingredients they don’t – 36% more tomatoes, and 30% less sugar (vs. market leader standard tomato ketchup)”

If selected, testers will be sent a bottle of Hellmann’s Tomato Ketchup Sweetened only with Honey (430ml)) – RRP £1.89, asked to try it across a week or so as normal and then to share their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet, and complete a short survey about the ketchup.

If you’d like to take part, please add your details here

We will be in touch with selected testers asap.

Everyone who takes part and who shares feedback on the thread and by completing the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 supermarket voucher for the store of their choice.

Thanks and good luck!

Id love to try this! Honey is sweeter than sucrose so less of it is needed to make the same product as sweet. I also keep my own bees and yes, understand that this will be made with blended honey that has been processed but it is a step in the right direction surely. Worth getting the recipe right then moving into an organic one with raw honey, eh, Helmans?

Agee it seems disingenuous. Sugar is sugar. I won't be trying this unless Hellman's come on to explain why this is healthier than regular ketchup.
And while the grammar police are out, MN - please say 'fewer' not 'less'. I also hate poor grammar in professional marketing. I don't give a crap if it's just people posting on a thread but you do this for a living...

HopefulHamster · 13/05/2017 13:09

Did the survey!

luanda111 · 13/05/2017 17:34

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 13/05/2017 19:02

Done. Sounds a bit crazy to me but happy to be proved wrong!

Butteredparsnip1ps · 15/05/2017 19:38

Happy to give it a go. It's coming up to BBQ season - weather permitting - and I sometimes make a marinade using tomato sauce, honey & mustard. Sounds like this would make that job a lot easier Grin

Cupcakeicecream · 15/05/2017 19:45

Looking forward to try a new family favourite.

Clever move by Hellman's here - jumping on the anti-sugar bandwagon. Cos the sweetness from honey is soooo much better for you. As a pp mentioned, surely a reduced sugar option would be the way forward.

WhatAPigsEar · 16/05/2017 13:57

Done. Consodering the amount of ketchup the dc eat, I'd far rather it had honey in than refined sugar.

Fluffy24 · 16/05/2017 19:40

Disappointing and misleading - honey is still sugar.

I'd prefer to think of the ketchup as containing 'sugar' and try to use less than have it thought of as somehow healthier and have people mislead into letting their kids eat loads of it.

Hmm
