We have been asked by the team at Hellmann’s to find 250 MNers to try their latest Hellmann’s Tomato Ketchup Sweetened only with Honey.

This is open to all UK MNers with at least one child at home. (see link above for ingredients).

Hellmann’s say “Hellmann’s Ketchup sweetened only with Honey. An all-natural recipe offering parents more of the ingredients they want, and less of the ingredients they don’t – 36% more tomatoes, and 30% less sugar (vs. market leader standard tomato ketchup)”

If selected, testers will be sent a bottle of Hellmann’s Tomato Ketchup Sweetened only with Honey (430ml)) – RRP £1.89, asked to try it across a week or so as normal and then to share their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet, and complete a short survey about the ketchup.

If you’d like to take part, please add your details here

We will be in touch with selected testers asap.

Everyone who takes part and who shares feedback on the thread and by completing the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 supermarket voucher for the store of their choice.

Thanks and good luck!

Done, didn't know Hellmann's made ketchup!

MummyBtothree · 10/05/2017 16:34

Done ☺

Signed up. Didn't realise Hellmann's made tomato ketchup so would love to compare with my usual brand. Ketchup is the only condiment my son will consider, and I use it with herbs for a pizza sauce, with spices as a marinade as well as as the ubiquitous accompaniment for homemade stuffed burgers. I'm intrigued by the addition of honey, and how it will impact on the taste. Hopefully get the chance to try it out!

ragz134 · 10/05/2017 17:21

Honey is still sugar, this seems gimmicky. But, if it has less sugar overall than my current brand, then it is worth a try.

slightlydomesticated · 10/05/2017 20:01

Done. Worth trying as my kids love it with everything!

5OBalesofHay · 10/05/2017 21:58

Not for me thanks. Honey is still sugar. Disingenuous and cynical on the part of Hellmans.

Tardigrade001 · 10/05/2017 23:15

Done.

TinyTear · 11/05/2017 08:44

Maudlinmaud · 11/05/2017 10:44

Done. Hellmans ketchup is our preferred brand.

EmmaMumsnet · 11/05/2017 15:06

@DoodleCat and @TinyTear thanks for your hawk eyes and for busting @AnnMumsnet Grin The survey has now been amended.

Does anyone remember the green tomato sauce Heinz used to sell?

I have applied for the trial.

JulesJules · 11/05/2017 18:42

Done, but I don't think I checked the final box - tried to fill it in again but it wouldn't let me. Hope my entry still counts - I really love ketchup and would be keen to try this one!

Chuckading · 11/05/2017 19:08

Done. Intrigued to see if it tastes any different!

Tillila · 11/05/2017 19:30

Honey is a healthier option to artificial sweetener or sugar.

Tillila · 11/05/2017 19:30

We'd love to put this to the taste and test ;)

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 11/05/2017 19:38

All done :)

NannyR · 11/05/2017 20:24

Honey isn't really that much healthier than sucrose (white sugar). Whilst raw honey has some health benefits and a lower gi, the processed, clear runny honey has similar amounts of fructose and a similar glycaemic index to sucrose.

Joffmognum · 12/05/2017 01:27

This is just taking advantage of uneducated people who think honey is a health food. Raw honey has benefits (antibacterial, sometimes helps hayfever) but once it's processed enough to be in ketchup it's gonna be no better than glucose syrup. If it was advertised as "sweetened with honey", that might be to give clues as to flavour, but "sweetened only with honey" implies that other sweeteners are worse for ones health which is NOT TRUE, it will be JUST AS SUGARY as if they added regular sugar. You're preying on people who are trying to make a healthier choice for their families.

Shame on you, Hellmanns.

Joffmognum · 12/05/2017 01:29

(If you wanted to make a lower sugar ketchup, add less sugar. Not hard.)

Ds loves ketchup, dh complains about the amount of sugar. I need this in my life

Aquiver · 12/05/2017 09:05

This sounds scrummy! Would love to try as I'm a ketchup (and mayo) fiend!
