Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?
I was really pleased with them. They were not too sweet tasting which was my only concern prior to trying them (I worry about 14mo DD getting a sweet tooth like her mum so I try to avoid giving her stuff which tastes too sweet, regardless of actual sugar content). They were quite hard and dry but DD managed them fine with only two (bottom) teeth which I was impressed by. They were less messy than rice cakes, for us. DD liked the shape and so did I. I quite liked the taste and texture too, they reminded me a bit of 'breakfast biscuits' - better with a cup of tea to dunk in. I was also impressed with the sticker as I felt a whole bag was too much for DD for a snack and I usually carry around clips to close up her half eaten snacks!

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?
I definitely would. Up to about £2 a box.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?
Definitely - I already have but was a bit fruitless as they aren't actually in the shops yet! I recommended them as an alternative to rice cakes.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?
Vanilla, I think just based on how fast she ate them, but she ate all of them.

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Goodies oaty bars, rice cakes

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Rice cakes, Chedds snack bags of cheese cubes, Goodies / organix carrot stix / sweetcorn shapes / cheese puffs / other toddler 'crisps'.

Thanks for choosing us!

Yes, we will be buying again on her reaction.

@FilthyRascal

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos? I thought they were quite similar to other similar brands of mini biscuits targeted at toddlers really. I liked that they were oats and the inclusion of the seeds as I think it made them a bit more filling. I was a bit annoyed that the second ingredient was molasses I.e sugar which felt a bit disingenuous, as if they were trying to disguise it and also, a percentage of ingredients was given for the healthy bits I.e oats and chia seeds but not for the honey or molasses! They were very sweet to eat too- but seemed to be a hit with my children! I was a bit confused by some of the additional ingredients - e.g pea protein. Is that really necessary?

Hi - response to you from Little Dish below:

"When we developed Go Gos, it was a priority for us to keep the amount of added sugar as low as possible while still being tasty for little ones. Go Gos contain 16% added sugar in the form of molasses, which is just 1 teaspoon (4g) of added sugar per 25g bag. This is lower than that in most baby biscuits currently available, and significantly lower than dried fruit snacks.

The amount of sugar in Go Gos is shown in the ‘Nutrition information’ table on our packs. The reason we only give a % for certain ingredients in our ingredients list is that labelling legislation requires manufacturers to provide a % for specific ingredients featured on the front of packaging - in our case this is wholegrain oats, flax and chia seeds and vanilla.

We included pea protein (= dried peas) as protein is an important nutrient for the growth of healthy muscles and bones. Each bag of Go Gos provides 3g of protein which is 20% of the recommended daily intake of protein for 1 to 3 year olds (based on FSA guidelines).

We hope this information is helpful."

I would, I'm always looking out for new snacks for DS and so are my friends.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?
Vanilla, but he also hoovered the ginger ones.

PaulDirac · 19/01/2016 13:12

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?
Quite satisfied. Like the packaging and the sticker. The sticker came in handy as a pack was a bit much for my daughter. Easy to carry round and nice cartoon characters. My daughter enjoyed wearing them on her fingers as well as eating them. I did think they are a little bit dry.

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?
Yes I would.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?"
Yes I would. They have less sugar than other similar products we've bought, and are very portable so good for on the go eating.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite flavour?
Raspberry. But she has got ill since trying them which has affected her appetite so that could be why she seemed less keen on the vanilla flavour. She definitely preferred raspberry to ginger.

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Organix goodies oat bars

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Rice cakes

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?

My DD loved everything about Go Go's the packaging was bright and colourful with an animal on which always makes my DD want to eat/buy things! A sticker which is another great thing for a 3yr old and they tasted yummy! For me that fact that they contained a lot less sugar than other snacks aimed at small children and they contained loads of good stuff made me love them too! Oh and the fact that with every box we got to try a free Little Dish meal made them even better Grin

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?

Yes we would my dd loves them

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

Yes I was talking to a few mums at pre school about them the other morning as I take my DD a packet everyday to eat on her way home, They hadn't seen them before but said they would look out for them next time they go shopping!

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?

The ginger box didn't last very long!

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Mainly fruit but occasionally a little chocolate bar!

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Carrot & cucumber sticks with yogurt or hummus dip, breadsticks, rice cakes (she isnt overly keen on rice cakes but will eat them at a push!)

VioletWillow · 19/01/2016 13:41

Thank you for including me Mumsnet 😊
My daughter really liked these, particularly the vanilla ones - even OH liked them! They were popular too at a sling meet with a couple of smaller tots 😊 I will be keeping an eye out for these in the shops, they need to live in my cupboard!

Nosnowjustrain · 19/01/2016 14:22

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go

At first glance, I was disappointed, I thought they looked cardboardy and bland, however, I was wrong! They tasted delicious and the children loved them. They are the ideal size to pop in my bag as a snack on the go or to use as a pick up from nursery treat!

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?

Yes, would definitely buy these if acceptably priced.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

Yes I would recommend as a healthy, convenient and tasty snack

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?

I was surprised to find that ginger was the favourite with vanilla the least favourite.

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Fruit, jelly, yoghurt

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Cheese, crackers, rice cakes, bread sticks, cheese straws

@nearlyreadytopop

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos? I loved the concept but was disappointed with the allergy advice. The coverall comment of being made in a factory that also uses milk is a quick/cheap way out of actually ensuring your product is free from allergens. Very disappointing.

On the allergy query - Little Dish say

"Go Gos are made to a recipe that doesn’t contain wheat or dairy. We have signposted this on our packs for the many parents who contact us to tell us that they prefer to reduce or avoid wheat and/or dairy in their family’s diet, as a dietary choice rather than an allergy issue. Go Gos are made in the same production kitchen as other biscuits that do use ingredients that contain wheat or dairy (such as white flour and butter). While the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned between making other recipes and making Go Gos, there is always a very small chance that a tiny amount of a wheat or dairy ingredient remains. Labelling regulations therefore require that we highlight this on our packaging to ensure that parents are able to make an informed decision based on their child’s sensitivity to these allergens. We’re sorry if this was misleading to anyone."

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?

Quite satisfied, they seem a nice fit into what is already available in the toddler snack market. Small packs that can easily be put into a bag are always a winner for me, and my son seemed to enjoy them. They seem quite healthy at first glance but do wonder how much sugar is disguised as molasses...
I did notice a couple of times he seemed to gag on them, which isn't very common for him and wondered if it was to do with the dryness of them. He is also right at the lower end of the recommended age range (12.5 months) and I wonder if they were perhaps a bit of a struggle for someone with not many teeth. However, the gagging didn't seem to put him off and he carried on wolfing them down happily. I tried them too and thought they were quite nice, especially the vanilla ones that tasted a bit like the belvita breakfast biscuits!

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?

Yes, I would buy them for him occasionally.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

Yes, although maybe for an older toddler.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?

Vanilla - neither of us thought much of the raspberry flavour though.

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Rice cakes, occasionally puff type snacks (organix), dried fruit such as mango, raisins etc.

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Breadsticks, veg sticks

We enjoyed trying them, and have passed a couple of bags onto friends to try too. Thanks for the opportunity.

PieceOfPaper · 19/01/2016 15:18

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?

Satisfied, though we all (dc aged 3, 6 and 9, and me) thought they were a little dry. I thought they were a bit bland too but that didn't seem to bother the children. I prefer to buy snacks like this that don't have too much sugar in, and the oats, flax and chia rather than just refined flour is a bonus. The children liked the packaging, and we all liked the generous number of biscuits per bag.

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?

Yes, probably. They are handy for taking out of the house (we particularly liked the sticker for resealing the bag) and healthy enough for me to be happy for my three year old to have them once or twice a week.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

Yes, if they wanted a snack that wasn't too full of sugar for an older baby or toddler.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/flavour?

Vanilla

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Organix soft oaty bars, malt loaf, dried and fresh fruit

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Crackers, cheese, oat cakes

Yes

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

We have some very good candidates for this taste test! I tried them with all of my three youngest daughters who are 4yrs, nearly 3yrs and 16 mths.

Personally from my view point I liked the packaging and especially the ingredients. The Nutritionist approved would get my attention if I saw them on the shelves.

Good colours, enough information without being too overwhelming and good graphics.

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?

All three girls really enjoyed them and more importantly enjoyed all three flavours :-) I personally found them quite dry but they were not worried and to be honest they always have water with their snack anyway so it is not a big issue for us.

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?
Yes definitely

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?
Yes, mainly for the ingredients, the parts I would mention as to why I recommend them are:-
The Quantity in a pack is perfect
They taste nice
Give you peace of mind that you have a healthy snack (even for us adults!)

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?
Nevaeh liked Raspberry and Vanilla the most, Grace was all three, Alina is to young to say but devoured all of them so I would say all three!

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
They do have some biscuits occasionally and chocolate buttons other than that it is Raisins, Fruit and yoghurts

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Mixed nuts mainly, they have previously had rice cakes but we do not get them anymore. I also used to get the carrot crisp sticks but they are just too messy!

Overall we loved taking part and all the girls really enjoyed the experience as well as the products. I would buy them and I was also pleasantly surprised at the free meal which we are looking forward to trying. I am always trying to find a good snack that I do not feel "guilty" about but also one that does not create a lot of mess so can be eaten while travelling and these tick all of those :-)

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?

I really liked the packaging, especially your reseal sticker. Boxes are a good size, and the bags are perfect for quick trips out. Unfortunately my 2yo didn't really like them. The 8yo loves the ginger and raspberry flavours though.

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?

If my youngest had liked them, I would definitely have bought them. I probably won't though.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?

Yes, I'd recommend them.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?

Ginger

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Raisins, oat bars, plain biscuits, the odd bag of chocolate buttons, not many sweet things though.

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?

Crackers, breadsticks, cheesy twists, quavers, organix snacks

urterriblemuriel · 19/01/2016 18:26

Q1 Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the Little Dish Go Gos?
Very satisfied, actually I think that they're the best toddler biscuits we've tried. They tasted good, are healthy, the perfect size for little hands, portable, not too crumbly (so less scope for mess!) and only a couple of broken ones in each packet. Both children (14 mo & 3.5 yrs) liked them a lot and the older one is becoming more picky about toddler targeted snacks too. The sticker was a nice touch which the older one loves, although I didn't realise it was there for a few packets. I think the packet needs to highlight the age suitability a bit more than the small text on the back. I think some mums might not be sure when making the quick decision on what to buy and choose a competitor to be sure (first time around as a mum I remember always looking out for this info).

Q2 If Little Dish Go Gos were on sale at a price acceptable to you, do you think you would buy the products in future or not?
Yes, definitely.

Q2 If it came up, in principle, do you think you’d recommend the Little Dish Go Gos to a friend or family member or not? Why?
Yes, as they're tasty, healthy, easy to eat and practical (packet size and not too messy). They would also pass the playschool lunchbox test (normal sugary cakes/biscuits not allowed), so could provide a bit of variety on the norm.

Q3 Which was your child’s favourite recipe/ flavour?
They liked them all! I was surprised by that as my youngest does not like a competitors ginger ones (probably as they're a bit heavy handed on the spice!). I liked vanilla the most.

Q4 What other sweet snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Heinz biscotti (all varieties - a bit of a hassle as I have to decant a few each time into a small plastic tub), Jaffa cakes (on a rare occasion - I'm a bit more relaxed second time around Smile, organix banana baby biscuits (a bit big and hard in my opinion), boxes of raisins, fruit bowl yoghurt raisins, Ella's kitchen nibbly fingers

Q5 What savoury snacks do you currently buy for your child/children under 3 years old?
Mini breadsticks, cheese twists, organix sweet corn rings, organix carrot sticks, tesco own brand cheesy puff things.

Thanks for including us in the testing, I'm impressed with the product and the children will enjoy finishing them off. We will definitely buy!

SheldonsSpotOnTheCouch · 19/01/2016 18:32
  1. I liked the packaging. The packets are a nice size, the ingredients are clear and the sticker to reseal is a great idea. However, my son didn't manage to even swallow any! He crunched them then spat them out. The texture may be a little dry for him. He's only just 1 so not many things get given a chance! I liked the flavour (especially vanilla) snd it's great that they're dairy free.
  1. I would buy them again to give them another chance because they're a handy snack to have in.
  1. I would recommend them as a healthy dairy free snack irrespective of the fact my son wasn't keen.
  1. My son didn't have a favourite. I found the vanilla pleasant tasting.
  1. Raisins, grapes. Mostly fruit as I struggle to find nice dairy free treats.
  1. Bananas, breadsticks, wafers, plum bread. Again I struggle to think of dairy free snacks.

My little one is 17 months and found these quite hard to eat. He seemed to chew them for ages before spitting them out. Possibly he is a little too young for them. My 6 year old however seemed to like them.
I think I will try the younger one with them again when he is a little older as I like the idea of a snack that isn't overly sweet and is filling. I also like the packaging. The usual snacks I buy are fruit, crackers, screen bars etc
