my DS is 2.9 and we tried to 5+
First impressions were that they looked and felt really good.
The first day we used them DS had a bit of an upset tummy and the Pampers did a really good job of 'containing' the issue
. No leaks, very happy.
They also worked really well overnight - I'm always suspicious of needing a separate type of night time nappy; it feels like an aggressive marketing strategy and seems a pointless extra expense. So these ones did the job round the clock which was great.
I really like how stretchy they are around the waist and legs, they make a snug fit, but are not so tight they leave marks on the skin, or appear uncomfortable in anyway.
At first I thought the sticky tab on the back was a wetness indicator, then realised it was for wrapping up the dirty nappy for easy disposal, a nice feature I suppose but not a big deal for me.
My DS is a little monster when it comes to fiddling with the sticky tabs on our current brand of nappy, especially at night time. So sometimes he can loosen the nappy or even get it off! So these pants style ones are great in that he would not be able to remove them so easily.
At first I thought there was a serious design flaw in the nappy, thinking when it was dirty, it had to be pulled down like proper pants and the contents would get spread everywhere. Then I realised you can rip them at the sides, which solved the problem. So far, the seam that you rip has been really robust and hasn't accidentally torn so that's good.
Just a couple of things that are not so good:
As another poster has already said, to change these nappies, you have to completely undress your toddlers lower half, which might (?) not be a problem for a little girl wearing a dress, but for a toddler wearing trousers, it does mean completing undressing them, which is a faff.
I found that when I had to use nappy cream on DS, the pull up style of pants could often mean spreading the cream about and getting a bit messy. However, I don't think this is a big negative, as the overall positive aspects of the product outweigh this.
We haven't started potty training DS yet as he is showing no interest, but this product definitely seems like a nappy, despite its pants design. Is it meant to be a potty training product? It seems a little unclear, as the design and branding suggest it is, but it functions like a nappy, drawing away the wetness so presumably the toddler cannot feel they are wet/had an "accident" so how helpful is this in the toddlers learning? I think the branding needs to be much clearer on this.
Thanks very much for including us in the product test, I would be interested in using them more in the future.
