This is the feedback thread for the 20 Mumsnetters who tried the Kenwood kCook.

Here’s what the people at Kenwood say, “Whipping up a one-pot wonder for your family has never been easier thanks to the new kCook cooking food processor from Kenwood which not only chops and stirs, but also cooks delicious dishes at the touch of a few buttons. All this, plus a fantastic specially-developed recipe app to provide a little inspiration at every meal time, makes the kCook the new must-have kitchen essential.

The three bowl tools coupled with the app make the laborious tasks of thinking up a meal, preparing ingredients and endlessly stirring over a hot stove a thing of the past. Simply follow one of over 200 recipes available on the app, or adapt them to your taste using the kCook’s manual modes which allow the speeds and temperatures to be changed.”

Testers, we’d like you to answer the below questions:

Q1. How would you describe the kCook to friends or family who had never heard of it before? What was your overall impression of it?

Q2. How easy, or not, did you find to use the kCook? What time saving tips did you find when using the kCook?

Q3. What family meals did you create with the kCook? Did they go down well with your family? We’d love it if you could post some pictures of your dishes on this thread.

Q4. Did you use the Kenwood recipe app? If so, what did you think of it? Did you discover new recipes you hadn’t tried before?

Q5. If it came up in conversation, do you think you’d recommend the kCook to friends and family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Non-testers, what’s your favourite dish to make in a food processor? Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win their own kCook.

Thanks
MNHQ

Being dairy free for my son I use the food processor a lot as I cook everything from scratch. My favourite thing to make though is chocolate mousse made with avacado.

Q1. How would you describe the kCook to friends or family who had never heard of it before? What was your overall impression of it?

A stirring, chopping saucepan

Cons
Lid is sometimes very hard to get on and also do up.
Doesn't look as good quality as the ken wood multipro I have (which also includes scales)
I'm not sure how well it will wear going in the dishwasher long term
Stirrer/ blades don't come up very clean inside in the dishwasher (but a bottle brush is included which helps)
Blades are low and therefore wouldn't attempt coleslaw etc (which is on app) as multipro blades are much better for this
Programs are not clear
Beeps annoyingly when on keep warm setting
Small bowl

Pros
Excellent stirring blade for things like cheese sauce
Love the way it stirs and you can leave it

Q2. How easy, or not, did you find to use the kCook? What time saving tips did you find when using the kCook?

Made cheese sauce very easily
Programs aren't clear (following app recipe is fine but not sure I would be able to do my own recipes)
Able to go off and do things while it stirs and cooks

Q3. What family meals did you create with the kCook? Did they go down well with your family? We’d love it if you could post some pictures of your dishes on this thread.

Bologese sauce, not that successful as followed recipe and would usually include more veg, found it couldn't stir the all of the contents
Macaroni cheese. Very successful (bit thicker than normal though) and finished off in oven with grated cheese

Q4. Did you use the Kenwood recipe app? If so, what did you think of it? Did you discover new recipes you hadn’t tried before?

Used the app recipes which was ok but a bit tricky to navigate with too many sections. Ordered aubergine for the aubergine 'caviar' and also ingredients for ham croquets and carbonara

Q5. If it came up in conversation, do you think you’d recommend the kCook to friends and family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably not, it's expensive for what it is as you'd still need a 'proper' food processor

I have a velvet chocolate mouse recipe that is FAB. I can only make it when I visit my parents, though, as I don't have a food processer of my own :(

I must get myself a food processor ....

Miaow1234 · 23/06/2015 21:59

A tasty stew. You can use pretty much anything.

diggerdigsdogs · 24/06/2015 07:27

I use my food processor to make make massive batches of tomato and veg sauce. Then I just need to fry some mince and I have immediate batches of a nice, meaty and full of veg dinner for the DC.

Non-testers, what’s your favourite dish to make in a food processor?
I don't have a food processor, or a Kenwood Kmix.
I do have a tiny violin though, which I am playing for you now...
Wink

In a processor, my favourite thing to cook would be soup- all sorts of it, I love soup, I do.

Notthecarwashagain · 24/06/2015 11:08

KCook even, although I don't have either... Grin

I was really disappointed not to be chosen for this. I have 5 little ones and I love cooking from scratch esp as my 3 year old has celiac disease so it can be tricky buying ready made stuff.

I'm loving all the testers reviews and if I'm honest I'm a little green!!

I don't have a food processor yet but my old (23 years old - it was my mums) Kenwood Mixer is amazing, I use it all the time but it obviously has it's limits...

HannahLI · 24/06/2015 11:36

Non tester but I wish I had been testing it as it looks great! My favourite food processor meal is spicy butternut squash soup

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/06/2015 11:39

Non tester - all aorts - soup, pasta sauce and smoothies mainly!

melissab · 24/06/2015 11:56

I love to make smoothies in the blender attachment of my processor .... Using frozen berries means I don't need to have ice cubes in stock ????

NettleTea · 24/06/2015 12:04

This looks great.
I have an old 1970s Kenwood processor and it comes into its own at Christmas, making cakes. My favourite is a chocolate and almond one. My daughter uses it to make smoothies too

daylight · 24/06/2015 12:18

I make spaghetti or pasta sauce in the food processor. I have fussy kids so its easy to hide all the veggies in the sauce! Tomato soup is also a fav in the family!

I used my food processor to make a cake at the weekend and it worked! So much easier!

TD1970 · 24/06/2015 13:42

I like to make the base sauce for my curry recipes in a food processor.

kelly7990 · 24/06/2015 13:46

guacamole or tomato/chilli soup

maryandbuzz1 · 24/06/2015 13:48

Would have to be potato and leek soup. Yum!

liane1987 · 24/06/2015 13:51

Soups would be the best thing I've ever made in a food processor :)

ElectroNymph · 24/06/2015 14:06

I haven't been fortunate enough to own one, but my mum makes fantastic pea soup using her Kenwood Chef!

Keletubbie · 24/06/2015 14:10

Non Tester - I use mine to make a quick Vicky sponge. So much easier to clean than a stand mixer!

andywedge · 24/06/2015 14:19

Vegetable soup

Alison18 · 24/06/2015 14:21

My favourite dish to make in a food processor is Shepherds pie with the left overs from a Sunday roast.
