This is the feedback thread for the 20 Mumsnetters who tried the Kenwood kCook.

Here’s what the people at Kenwood say, “Whipping up a one-pot wonder for your family has never been easier thanks to the new kCook cooking food processor from Kenwood which not only chops and stirs, but also cooks delicious dishes at the touch of a few buttons. All this, plus a fantastic specially-developed recipe app to provide a little inspiration at every meal time, makes the kCook the new must-have kitchen essential.

The three bowl tools coupled with the app make the laborious tasks of thinking up a meal, preparing ingredients and endlessly stirring over a hot stove a thing of the past. Simply follow one of over 200 recipes available on the app, or adapt them to your taste using the kCook’s manual modes which allow the speeds and temperatures to be changed.”

Testers, we’d like you to answer the below questions:

Q1. How would you describe the kCook to friends or family who had never heard of it before? What was your overall impression of it?

Q2. How easy, or not, did you find to use the kCook? What time saving tips did you find when using the kCook?

Q3. What family meals did you create with the kCook? Did they go down well with your family? We’d love it if you could post some pictures of your dishes on this thread.

Q4. Did you use the Kenwood recipe app? If so, what did you think of it? Did you discover new recipes you hadn’t tried before?

Q5. If it came up in conversation, do you think you’d recommend the kCook to friends and family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Non-testers, what’s your favourite dish to make in a food processor? Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win their own kCook.

Thanks
MNHQ

I used my processor all the time, to make dips (humus, baba ghanoush...), soups, sauces, pastry, couldn't do without it! If I had the kcook, I could try the chicken tajine recipe, it looks like a versatile little machine.

Non Tester also gutted to have not been picked!

I use a small food processer to make curry pastes when I make a curry from scratch. I use my larger one when I make coleslaw as it grates so quickly!

I love making chickpea burger with lots of flavour (garlic, onion, cheeses, sundried tomatoes, olives... whatever I fancy) in a food processor.

We only have a tiny one though (a chopper, really) and I always need to do it in batches. I would love to have a kCook! It would make cooking for my familly so much easier.

Non tester.

We use ours for bread, pizza base as we have a dough attachment. Sweets tend to be cakes and in the winter steamed puddings. Other favourites are soup, especially butternut and chopping ingredients for bhaji's and pakoras.

Like others my favourite is pesto- currently mint and almond is my favourite- so summery. Also hummus and pastes for home made curries. I would love one that also cooked- sounds like such a time saver in a busy house. I could lay out everything at lunchtime and just switch it all on later.

I was gutted not to be chosen as this is something I'd find really helpful. Don't use our food processor much (inherited from DHs gran) as it's too heavy for me to lift. Mostly used it for cakes. If I had a processor I could use, I'd make mushroom bolognese - family love it but i can't do the chopping needed. Soups too - DC love homemade but I can't chop (disability affecting hands) or work a stick blender properly.

I physically can't easily get stuff out of the oven, so the kCook would be amazing for me - I could cook proper food, not just what I could manage. I hope it's available here soon, but given Kenwood prices I'll need to save for a long long time. So glad something like this has been invented.

macaroon and Party - re the lid, just remember that the steam hole has to be nearest you.

Tester here - will report back in full once I've made a few more things - but so far working well.

I use my food processor all the time. When I was fat eating carbs, I'd roast veg and puree it to add to my pasta sauce. I grate cheese for lasagne and cauliflower cheese, and I make pastry. At the moment it is mostly used to blitz cauliflower for cauliflower rice or for making coleslaw.

I make my own hummus by whizzing up a load of chickpeas, tahini, garlic, olive oil, a pinch of salt, paprika and lemon juice. It's lovely even though I say so myself.

This is my risotto. I am so upset. It was perfect when it had finished. I left it for 30mins on the automatic 'keep warm' setting and it has carried on cooking and turned to wall paper paste.

My dinner is inedible!!

Non tester - never used one I dont seem to get on with kitchen gadgets so stopped buying them only for them to take up valuable kitchen space. however it doesn't mean I wouldn't love to be able to master the use of one.

Non-tester -

Our family's favourite dish that requires a food processor is spicy lentil soup, using coconut milk for liquid, lots of spices, and loads of root vege.

I also use it to make smoothies and lassi, plus hoummus. Mine is ancient now though, so isn't as reliable as it used to be.

A very simple leek and potato soup. I like it thick and smooth.

I use it for lots of other things but sometimes the simplest are the best.

Non tester - pastry. I hate making it by hand and getting all the yuk under my fingernails, plus I have hot hands so it never works.

Perfect every time with a food processor.
